Lot of seasonal residents and associated amenities. We arrived during a rain storm, !ots of mud and standing water. First site was rain saturated, staff reluctantly moved us to a better site. Good dog walking area however no dog park. Sites were shady and back in some pull throughs but may be kept for seasonal renters. Laundry very clean and reasonable. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Interior roads and sites are gravel. Sites are pretty level. This park has the pull-thru option for big rigs or back to back for 2 smaller rigs. Sites are cozy with your neighbor and not much separation at all. So cozy that my front yard neighbor sat down at my picnic table to study the owner's manual for wet bay hookup. Staff is great and the convenience store is as well. Laundry room room had what looked to be all new washers/dryers. Game room/rec room was good. The pool appeared to be well taken care of though I didn't use it lots of people did. The biggest negative about this park is the men's bath house. Needs a good cleaning and some of the metal dividers have rusted through in places. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is camping for a family, lots of activities for the kids. Heavy trees, but the tv antenna brought in over 30 stations, wifi is free for the first hour, then you pay. Almost every site has a fire ring, and they were being used when we were there, so expect the smells of smoke. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is over run with seasonal folks. Some spots are well kept while others are turning into, lets say not well kept. Power and water were both good. 50 amp plug needed replacement as it was melted. Sewer connection was about 12" above ground. We were there mid week so not much activity but many golf carts. I feel the park is close to most of what the St. Louis area has to offer. Ten min. to Purina Farms, 30 min to Grants Farm home of Bud. horses. and 45 min to downtown St. Louis. We had a hard time getting OTA TV. It might have just been our location. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

We went there for the Purina Farms dog trials. I found it so, so. Grants Farm is worth a whole day. Between the Budweiser horses and the Grants farm, all is free but $13.00 to park.

This was a one night stop. We did not use the rec stuff but they had much. To bad we pay for everything and don't use because we are just passing thru. Site was very level but the only issue was kids kept riding bike thru our site. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park with lots of trees. Friendly, helpful staff. Large, clean restrooms, showers, laundry. Power dependable and site level. A little pricey for just an overnight but probably the nicest park in vicinity. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Lots of Pin Oaks! Pull thru was flat, level, gravel site with plenty of length for truck and trailer. Site width is a bit close but ok for an overnighter. Power was stable and strong. Water pressure was ok but on the lower side. Picnic table and fire ring at each site. Quite a few sites occupied by seasonal units. While they have other amenities, we didn't use any. Check in was smooth and efficient and the receptionist was very friendly. Our Rand McNally GPS coordinates were off (short) by a half mile. Just keep following Cty road AT until you come to the campground on the right. CG signage provided good directions.

We would come back again. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Average. OK for 1 night. Pricey. Sites were very close together. Other campers parked vehicle across the road making backing a trailer into the site mostly a precision movement. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

The staff were friendly but this park is showing its age. The showers were downright terrible with mold in all of the shower stalls near the pool. There are a couple of mobile homes right in front of the place and we saw shady looking characters entering and leaving them. I suspect that they have had some trouble in the past because they require campsite issued tags for each vehicle, visitors included. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

We had the "Deluxe" Cabin. The Deluxe cabin had a shower and toilet and pots and pans. It was FILTHY. Mold and mildew were growing on the windows. Dust was at least 1" thick along the wall, under the bed. Dust was thick on the window A/C units. The two skillets had teflon that was so scratched they were impossible to use AND there was dried food in the bottom of the skillet as though the last camper had just wiped it out with a paper towel and put it away. The broiler pan was greasy on the bottom and dirty on top. The two window A/C units were so old and loud, we had to turn them off to sleep and when we were in the same room. We ate cereal for breakfast there but ate all other meals out because of the filth in the cabin. We bought paper plates, bowls, cups, and plasticware because the items in the cabin were too dirty to use. There were large cobwebs in the cabinet with the dishes. There was a "crotch hygienic protection" piece from someone's bathing suit stuck to the window trim in the bedroom. All the windows were filthy, the floors were gritty, the coffee maker was disgusting. We went to Wal-Mart and bought one rather than use the one in the cabin. The shower drained so slowly that we could only take two minute showers before we had an inch of water in the bottom of the shower. Then on the third day, the shower backed up and the toilet overflowed and flooded the cabin. The owner apologized profusely but offered NO refund. I would NOT recommend the cabins. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Cabin.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't stay in the cabins. We had the ONLY Deluxe Cabin. The others were much smaller without bathroom facilities. Bring lots of OFF! There are lots of mosquitos and wasps! We must have killed a hundred wasps in our screened-in porch. There were holes in the screen, the framing was poorly done so that there were large gaps between the wood and the wasps were able to make nests in the gaps.

There's a lot of mud, too. Actually, the campground flooded on July 1st, the night we left.

Ok, this park probably deserves a 5-4, but to charge for internet service (via Tengo) and then it doesn't work and they don't seem to care ("it's been down all day, not sure why"), is simply not acceptable. Internet today is the 4th utility and for full timers it is more important than cable. Also, this park is terribly noisy with freeway noise. Sure, people are nice, but I will never come back. Definitely overpriced but closest campground we could find to attend a wedding in the area. Lots of families with kids. Pool was full of kids and was closed in the evening. Poor WiFi service. Probably wouldn't stay here again. Sites were ample and nice trees. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

In general, we liked this park, and actually added in an extra day to spend more time in the area. On the positive side, you couldn't ask for more friendly greeting and expeditious check-in. Truly happy people who seem to go out of their way to make you feel welcome (including the kids). Swimming pool was clean and very busy with lots of families and children. Perhaps a bit small for the overall park demand because it was crowded, but everyone had fun and cooled off. The restrooms and showers, while functional, were somewhat dirty and tired looking. Could use a thorough scrubbing and some cosmetics to make it look more presentable. Did I mention how nice the staff were? Worth mentioning again. Spaces weren't as large as others but ours came equipped with fire ring, good water pressure, and a clean trash can. We appreciate having the crew come around and collect the trash daily. The wooden playground in the middle by the pool was decent and safe. Mini golf was kind of lame. It too could use some touch ups. There is a paint ball outfit connected to the park, but we're not the types. People here were so friendly! Would stop by again. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This campground is overpriced for what it offers. The sites are pull-through combination sites. In other words you pull through and then someone can back into the site behind you. They do offer single pull through sites at a higher nightly rate. The park roads and sites are hard-packed dirt with some gravel mixed in. Fortunately it didn’t rain while we were there. Each site had a picnic table and fire ring but the sites are narrow so if your neighbor has a campfire it will be very close to your RV. Over-the-air television is weak and the park does not offer cable TV. The pay for use Wi-Fi is available through Tengo and was is next to useless. Highway noise from the nearby Interstate Hwy 44 was loud. I would hate to try sleeping in a hybrid or popup trailer with the amount noise. I felt the park’s pool was small considering it had an eight foot deep end. The small fishing lake was very nice and there was no state fishing license required and no fee to fish it. The showers and restrooms were very clean. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was on overnight stop on a trip through the area. We arrived around 6:30 in the evening and left around 10:00 in the morning. We never saw anyone in the office, so left payment in the night deposit. This seemed much over-priced for a winter stop over. The water in the restrooms and showers was freezing cold, so in my mind, the showers were not usable at this time of year. We camped at Pin Oak Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.
