This was the first time we used a COE Park but will not be the last, we really liked it here. Large sites, easy to back in very clean and well kept and the staff was very helpful with local info. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

This review is for the East Loop. The rate reflects a 50% Senior Pass discount. In my opinion, for seniors wanting a "quieter stay", I would suggest the East Loop sites 1 thru 40. There were many more families with children on the West Loop which is stites 41 thru 109. Most of the sites are fairly level. Our site#32 was long enough for a 45' motorhome. At the end of the site is a concrete stop that if necessary, most RV's can back-over to let the tires stop/rest at the tire stop. We did this & had plenty of room. I think the east loop sites were spaced-out better than the west loop sites. Check in is done in the Fee Booth, which is located on the west loop. Because I had reservations, and knew my site number, I parked the coach then drove over and checked in a couple of hours later. This campground (East & West Loops) allow for same-day reservations with Reservation.gov We had made advance reservations, but I wanted to share with others of this reservation policy for Redmond Creek COE. Our cellular internet is with AT&T and VZW - both had strong signals & good voice quality with VZW. When we arrived, there was a no potable water "boil alert" posted at the entrance of the C/G. I did not receive advance notification of this warning. I sent Recreation.gov an email inquiring if they had received notification of no potable water "boil alert". I got a reply email from stating that Recreation.gov had not received any type of notice of the no potable water "boil alert" from the agency (US Army Corps of Engineers) that administers Redmond Creek C/G. We did not connect to the water during our 3 night stay. Luckily for us our motorhome had a full tank of potable water for us to use during our 3 night stay. Recreation.gov has sent an notification to USACE Redmond Creed admin. inquiring into our complaint. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Across the street from the restaurant in Wappapello named Crabb & Company is log cabin that sells campfire firewood VERY REASONABLE. We got LOTS of dry wood in nice-sized pieces that made for a perfect campfire for $5.00! After hours, they have an honor box on the left side of the log cabin. The log cabin is maybe a 2 mile drive just south of the campground on Hwy T. They owner was so helpful & friendly he helped load my firewood!

Our first time staying here, and were pleasantly surprised. Very nice campground and a great price. Location is a little out of the way, but well worth it. We didn't know how to check in until we asked another camper. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

The rate reflects a 50% Senior Pass discount. The price certainly can't be beat for a full-hookup site with lots of space and privacy. There are two campgrounds; we stayed in the west loop. You will not find anything on the post of your reserved site when you arrive. You have to go to the east loop, across the highway, for check-in. We only realized that we needed to check-in on the second day when we noticed that everyone else had a tag and we did not. Other than at check-in, we never saw the attendants. This is a typical, wonderful COE campground with well-spaced sites and beautiful big trees. It is well manicured, so there is little vegetation for visual separation. We had no problem getting satellite for DirecTV and had very strong Verizon data and voice. At our site, far back from the highway, it was very quiet and dark at night. Be aware that some sights are right along the highway. We would certainly stay here again. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.

The park is spacious, partially shaded spots. No outside traffic noise or constant lawn mowing. Friendly office workers and volunteers. We were able to get our Dish satellite with most channels, 2 out of 3 satellites came in. Cellphone service was uninterrupted. We were in site 29 and we have no complaints. We will definitely return for another visit. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

This review is for the west loop. Sites are nicely spaced, mostly shaded. I would avoid sites 31-31 as they have a pretty good slope to them. If up in the first row you will see county road T and here the traffic. No real noise further back. Never saw the park host. Check in is done in the east loop which is a pain. Because I had reservations, and knew site number, I parked the coach then drove over and checked in. We stayed for 14 nights and would return if in area. Easy drive into Poplar Bluff. This was a "trial run" with our new camper before going on vacation in August. We booked our site online and check in was a breeze once we got here. Campground was very clean, the host was friendly. Site was paved with plenty of room for a 31' trailer & only took a couple of blocks to level. Would camp here again. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is nice COE campsite. Good paved interior roads. Paved full hookup campsites. However, the water and sewer were poorly located relative to the bad and the electrical was on the curb side. The staff is nice and helpful. There aren't many restaurants or other services in the area. We got satellite but had to be careful where we positioned the rig to be able to get through the trees. Verizone was 2 bar 4G. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Would have rated a 10 if it was on the lake. We love COE parks and this is a great one. Long asphalt site. Level. Plenty of room to park our tow vehicle. Well kept park. Got good Verizon cell and MIFI. As this site is partial sunny/shade, got good DirectTV reception too. Not a thing to complain about. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the best COE campgrounds I've stayed in. Remote, but within a reasonable distance of Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Beautiful well maintained park with friendly staff. Very good roads leading up to and within the park. Extra parking on your already spacious site. We stayed in the East Loop site 50. We would stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Nearby there were several cafes, gas stations, and a small grocery store. The Wappapello Recreation Area has two parts. The Lake area and the Spillway area. There is a swimming beach, boat ramp, picnic area and visitors center on the lake. Lake Wappapello State Park is across the lake and well worth the drive. Poplar Bluff is about fifteen miles away and has numerous restaurants and plenty of shopping.

We stayed 7 nights, site 54 really nice spot. Very friendly people and the park attendee was very helpful with park information. Park was clean but, couldn't get Direct tv to work because of the tree. I recommend to anyone. Had a great time. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Booked here because of the excellent reviews on previous posts. Park was just okay. Unfriendly guy at check-in couldn't even tell me where to buy firewood. First time to the area, so we didn't make reservations. The campground is divided into 2 different areas West 1-40 sites and across the highway 42-100. VERY clean campground!! Bathrooms were very well maintained by the camp hosts. Showers were very nice and hot. We drove around the area and looked at the other campgrounds, and were glad we chose this one . We will definitely be coming back. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects Golden Age discount. We have stayed here before about 3 years ago, and found the area to be much the same as it was then. Nice quiet park, kept up well, does have some traffic noise from the highway but not that bothersome. Spaces on the west side are mostly level, full hook ups. 50 amp power was steady at 123V, water pressure was about 70 PSI. Sites are generally well spaced, fire ring, lantern holder and table. Numerous camp hosts and park attendants here, most have individual jobs. Did not use showers or restrooms. There is no water access here, boat dock is about 2 miles away. There is a very nice visitor center with information about the dam and history, things for kids to touch and do. Visitor center host was very nice, knowledgeable about the area and history of the lake and dam. There is a small grocery store in town that will suit most needs and a very nice little café and ice cream shop. The only thing we found annoying here was the constant traffic through the park, mostly "looky-lous" driving through from the main road, many people going too fast for safety. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.

Price reflects Senior Interagency Pass. What you'd expect from a COE campground: clean, well kept up, great volunteers. Full hook-ups throughout. Has special activities. We were here during their Halloween weekend. It was full, but still nice. We enjoyed the trick and treaters, and decorated sites. We'd stay here again. We camped at Redman Creek Campground COE in a Motorhome.
