Our stay was approximately two weeks; wish we could have stayed longer. Entire park very well groomed, laundry facilities, restroom and shower were immaculate. Other amenities included a pool, a catch and release pond, a fire pit area, horseshoe, a very nice library with an abundance of books of various literary genre and a unique walking trail. The owners very friendly and a true desire to make a person welcome. I would recommend Chipmunk Crossing RV Park a thousand times over. Sincerely, Happy Camper We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice, small, privately owned park located a little "off the beaten path". Owners are an older couple who go out of their way to make your stay perfect. We had a nice gravel pull thru, plenty long, level, with a picnic table. Plenty of space between sites and through out the campground. Lots of shade, nice pool, play area, large free library and a walking path thru the woods. No cable but could pick up several channels with the antenna and had good satellite reception. Catch and release pond also on site. If you are ever in central southern Missouri this is a great park to spend the night. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

First Impression: A rare find. A small CG with an attractive presentation. Manicured landscaping and décor. Spacious sites. Safety: no concerns - peaceful. Access: From Arkansas, we came in on MO-142, a twisting, turning, up-and-down, back-road in good condition, then MO-17, a two-lane road in superb condition. GPS found the CG without issue. Good signage, but entrance is a sharp turn with drop-offs on both sides. USE CAUTION - SWING WIDE. Office: Friendly husband/wife owner/manager. $30/night+tax; buy 5, get 7. Facilities: Pool, no spa or fitness room. Rec center with one washer/driver combo and quite a collection of books (hundreds of them), storm shelter, small playground, shuffle board, horseshoes. Catch-and-release fishing pond. Restrooms with showers are modern and ultra-clean (score "A+") but are tiny and can only be used by one person at a time. No fenced dog run but plenty of "yard" for the puppies. No propane sales. Campground: Roads are good gravel with gentle turns but, WARNING, low hanging tree branches. Eighteen sites are a mix of pull-through (x3) and back-in (x15) but no designated tent area. No yurts or cabins. Utilities are at mid-rig; FHU-20/30/50. Sites are packed gravel, level, in good condition. Sewer pipe is 4" PVC, unthreaded, about 6" above ground level. Gravel patio with nice picnic tables. Ground fires not permitted. Adequate well water pressure with good taste. Challenging satellite views (numerous trees), no cable TV, OTA TV found 16 channels. Free Wi-Fi with good coverage and bandwidth. Verizon phone at "1-bar"; 4G at "1-bar". No traffic, railroad, or aircraft noise. Recycle bins for glass, plastic, and aluminum. Bug Report: It rained through most of our entire stay; no insects observed (they probably drowned). Runners: Gravel roads marginal for running, no fitness room so no treadmills. Yoga: Gravel is too rough for mats but grass might be okay. Conclusion: Price just a bit too high for what you get but "Recommended." We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very clean, tidy and quiet park. Lots offered some shade. Site surface was gravel and featured a picnic table. Very convenient hook-ups.

Both managers were friendly and very accommodating. We have a 40' fifth wheel that had no issues maneuvering through the park.

Can't wait to visit again. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small, remote campground owned by an awesome couple. They make you feel at home! The sites are roomy and immaculate. The shower/restroom facilities are spotless.

We will, definitely, return. This campground is a bit north of the MO/ARK state line...if you

come in from the south, you can google it and I believe, come in

without going to West Plains first. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was one of the biggest surprises in campgrounds I have come across. Traveling for what seemed like forever down these narrow country roads we pulled into an immaculately kept campground. The owner came out and met us immediately and led us to our site. She is a charming woman from Vienna, Austria. Beautiful grounds, a nice pool, and a fun walking path compliment this diamond in the rough. I was prepared to hate this place and it ended up on my all-time favorite list. It's well worth the drive. A lovely, small park (only 18 sites), impeccably clean and neat! If you are not in a hurry, call first (only open six months of the year) and take the ten minute drive to this back roads campground. The peace and quiet will astound you. Welcoming, on-site owners. Lovely pet walk. Highest recommendation. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Worth the drive through the rolling hills of the country side - 8 miles from town. Quiet, peaceful, and the owners are wonderful, friendly, happy people. There are only three (3) big rig sites, but plenty of room for small to medium campers and you will really liked the distance between each campsite. The short walking trail for your pet is really a trail through the forested area. The pool is spotless as are the restrooms and the lawn. We were passing through and decided to stay for a week. This park is centrally located to nearby attractions and historical sites. The park is closed for the winter so call ahead - don't just show up. We will definitely come back this way. This park is beautiful and meticulously maintained. It is really quiet and peaceful. The sites are wide and spacious with excellent hookups. Our site was a pull thru and had plenty of room to maneuver my 40 footer. The couple who own the park live 0n site and are extremely friendly and helpful.

The only thing someone might consider as being negative is that it is a few miles outside of town, maybe ten minutes. We liked this. We wanted to be away form the noise and crowds.

We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean, well-kept RV park in a quiet, country setting. Roomy pull-through sites in a park-like setting. We saw deer across from our site; also a small private catch-and-release fishing lake. Friendly Owners live on premises, otherwise no permanent residents. Grassy areas plus a pretty trail in the woods - great for walking my dogs. Worth the 8-mile-drive (on 2-lake road) from West Plains. We enjoy staying here when in the area, and will return. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I rarely give a 10, but this little park is exquisite! The owners, The owners clearly take a lot of pride in their facility. The grounds are spotless, neat and tidy. All utilities worked very well. Good water pressure, steady voltage, clean accessible sewer port. WiFi was a little light, but we took the farthest site from the source. With my signal booster it worked just fine. Verizon broad band signal was reasonably solid as a backup. The owners couldn't have been better hosts. The park is off the beaten path, so don't be alarmed as you head 8 miles south of West Plains on narrow MO 17. Just keep going, you'll find the place, and you'll be glad you did. We will definitely return when we are in the area. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

A hidden gem off the beaten path. Extremely well kept property that shows pride of ownership. Very quiet in a wooded area with a walking path. Only 2 rigs in park. Would have stayed longer but schedule did not allow. Lots of pretty country to see in this area. The owners are super. Highly recommend. We camped at Chipmunk Crossing RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
