The employees were courteous and helpful. All the interior roads and our pull thru site was gravel. We were in the new section and noticed that several of the rigs in the new section had to put pads under their wheels to get level. Some of them had to use several pads. We only needed one pad under the front passenger wheel to get level. The OTA TV was non-existent, for us, but our satellite TV worked well. AT&T cell phones and hots pots worked well. The parks wi-fi was almost non-existent. We were charged $2 extra per night, for 50 amp service. Our site was long enough that for our 39 foot coach and 2 toads. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Motorhome.

Park was totally by itself off a country road. Sites were all dirt. Appeared some had a somewhat decent view of low hills but our site faced into buildings. Luckily we were only there for 1 night to have dinner with friends in MT. We would not return as they charge too much for what this park offers. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here a week to explore the Anaconda-Butte area. A bit overpriced for the amenities, but not a lot of great alternatives with FHU in extended area. We were placed in a new area of CG, which was pretty stark - no trees, no shade, not even a picnic table! No cable TV either, and OTA was minimal, sometimes 3 channels, sometimes none. Verizon was adequate, but oddly dropped out a couple times for no reason. WiFi was pretty poor, had to go to camp office area to connect. Charge extra $2/night for a dog, which was irksome - only CG in 30 stops on trip that does that. They ran sprinklers at night between sites in new section, without anything said to us at check-in. Our neighbors had their stuff soaked one night. Roads and sites were gravel, very easy to maneuver in our area, and had decent spacing in the new area. Great views of surrounding mountains and hills in campground depending on how you are situated and if you have neighbors, Bathroom/shower house clean and well maintained...but showers made for very short people! From peeking in the door, they have nice building that could serve as common room, with tables, chairs, sofas, etc.... but apparently the new owners have never opened it to camper use. Despite the negative aspects, would probably stay here again if in area. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Explore Butte and don't miss the World Museum of Mining tour and the mining equipment exhibit - fascinating, even if a bit run-down. Smelter City Brewing in Anaconda is great space to hang out, and there are a few good breweries in Butte. Gotta' see the Big Stack in Anaconda, and the hiking trail that goes up ridge above golf course is short and offers great views.

The hot springs is not at the campground. It's about a block down the highway. The showers and bathrooms were dirty and they claimed to have high standards and want to know if the washroom needed attention. When we told them they emptied the garbage, did NOT pick up the trash from the floor, and the counters weren't wiped the entire time we were there. Not overly friendly. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ignore all reviews prior to April 2017 because that is when the current owner took over. Stayed here for a month, and the biggest stand-out of this park is that the owner actually cares about the park & isn't just looking to ride it out. During my stay, there was a camper who kept his dog tied to the outside of his trailer all day long (if you do this, STOP). This dog would come within 2 feet of my RV and bark all day & even all night. The owner took control and stopped it. It wasn't a surprise that the park was full every weekend and at least half-full during the week. Very easy to find and navigate throughout the park. If the park is full, it can be really tricky putting your rig in your site. Site was mostly level. My site was on the outside of the park, and the view from my site was spectacular. Not every site has the excellent view, but the park is remote enough to see the beautiful mountains all around you. No problems with water, electric, or sewer. The owner also got me some good deals at the Fairmont Resort next door. Bathrooms were very clean. The office sold RV parts, food, alcohol, etc. I had two things that I didn't really like. My water outlet - although it had two outlets and good pressure - was about an inch off the ground and pointed down. A little difficult to connect. The Wifi didn't work when we got there, and when it did finally work, it was so slow that it was basically useless. I suspect that most campers don't come here for the Wifi, but just wanted to make a note. I really enjoyed my stay here as much or more as any other park I've stayed at. I would certainly return and would encourage others to try this place. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We pulled in late in the afternoon and, after pulling into our site, realized that our coolant had all leaked out of our Big Rig. We went to the office and they were extremely helpful trying to help us locate a big rig mechanic and tow company. We stayed the weekend and the owner and his whole family were extremely gracious and kind. Our site had a great view of the valley. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed last year, great experience. This year, put us in 30 amp, needed 50 amp (same as last year) . Moved us to 50 amp and asked for $3 more, after we had hooked back up!! Charged us $2 each for 2 dogs under 10lbs each. No cable, WiFi terrible, nothing extra for $57. Very unlevel sites! Owner not friendly, bad customer service!! No wonder the place was empty, won't be back!!!!! We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I understand it's early in the year, you would think that would give them time to clean... hmmm. We have stayed here on 3 different trips, this one was a disappointment. Most RV parks know you only need 50 amp if you plan on using your air conditioner. This is April, still somewhat winter conditions in Montana, when we told them we had 50 amp they charged us another $10.00 for a total of $50.00 for a one night stay. I understand there is new ownership so I'm hoping they can make it work. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Came in late on a Friday evening, read the sign on the door indicating that 'we are on sight '. The owner came right away to check us in AND then plowed out a site for us. Even with snow and freezing temperatures, he made us feel welcome with his friendly conversation and offers to help (small mishap with a frozen pipe!) New owners have been doing lots of upgrades like power and heated water to winter hookups. We camped at Fairmont RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Spokane, Washington. The restrooms and showers were impeccably clean. We played golf on the course at the resort, which was pricey but well cared for. We also walked to the restaurant at the resort and enjoyed the meal and exploring the grounds. We liked it so much, we stayed here again on our way home. The restaurant next door was good. Butte we went to the open mine site, and the farmers market in the old downtown. Couldn't visit the statue as there was a wedding. Anaconda had this old theatre which was lovely. The town looked like we should have explored it but we ran out of time.

Thank you for your review, We added 18 - 13'-18' tall Blue Spruce Trees spring of 2017 and plan to do the same going forward to improve the shade possibilities of the park. I should point out a large portion of RV'rs prefer NO trees for their satellite reception so we are challenged with balancing these conflicting requests and will do our best to accommodate both.
