This park was a pleasant surprise. Very clean, neat, well laid out park. Not to mention beautiful. There are several trout ponds that have wonderfully clean, clear water and trout that are at least 14 to 18 inches long. It also sits on a river that is very picturesque. There are big trees throughout and the park, as a whole, is comfortable and roomy. All the utilities were fine - we didn't even try the wifi so we can't comment. I think our only negative is the road approaching the park. When you turn off of the main road you enter a single lane (smaller than single lane) dirt/gravel road for about a quarter mile. The problem is if you were to meet up with another RV coming the other way there would be big problems. Otherwise, this is a great park and highly recommended. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Big Timber is a pretty little town. Be sure to have lunch at the Bakery on the main street downtown. Great hot sandwiches and wonderful pastries.

Thank you very much for your review. We are so glad you enjoyed the campground. The entry road we can do little about. It is a road the owner of the land on either side gives access to. We really like the bakery also! Hope to see you again one day!

This is my third year of spending my summer at Spring Creek Campground. It has become my home away from home. The campground is always clean and the managers are friendly and know how to run a park. The setting is gorgeous along the Boulder River. The wifi is sometimes "iffy", especially if the campground is full but you can always drive to town if you HAVE to have your internet fix. For three years we have held a Pleasure Way RV rally here in June and people come from all over the US, many returning for the second and third time. It is because the park is a great place to camp and the town of Big Timber is charming and full of friendly people. I am glad I discovered Big Timber and Spring Creek Campground. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Motorhome.

we enjoyed the park. The spaces were a little close together along the river, but it wasnt too bad. we were able to park our tow vehicle beside our rig. The wifi was very spotty for use. Our satalite worked great. We fished in the CG pound - the kids had a great time ( you have to use their equipment and worms) and then only pay if you catch a fish. It is not catch and release. Depending on the size you pay $5.00 per pound or per inch. You can fish as you wish (no charge, catch and release, use your own stuff) in the river as long as you have a fishing license. We were right on the river which was really nice. The staff was great and very helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

WOW, is all we can say to this experience of old time camping. Yes we had very little WI-FI, yes we had no AT&T service, and yes the DRIVEWAY into the park was gravel. But what we found at the end was lovely people, beautiful old trees and we were backed into a spot along the Boulder River - a piece of heaven. Maybe some people are too young to remember how camping use to be when you entertained yourselves, We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Motorhome.

Park is old and appears to be many long term residents. However, for the most part, park was "tidy". Park boosts about it's on a blue ribbon trout stream (Boulder river). Well, it is considered that, but not where we were; it was shallow and not very fishable. Restroom was something out of the old west...had an actual toilet, but small room looked like a converted outhouse. 30 Amp electrical was old. Very dark at night on park grounds; no lighting. We wouldn't come back to this park. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.

Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch, owner at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch responded to this review

I am so sorry you didn't enjoy your stay here. We always try to make our guests happy. Yes, this is a very old park, starting in the 50's, many families have been coming for generations. We are a campground and most enjoy the rustic nature of the park. Our bathrooms are older and we are in the process of remodeling so may not look their best. They are not however converted outhouses. It is dark around the park, but most enjoy not having the park lit up, there is lighting at the office around the bathrooms. We do not have any permanent residents. We do offer a seasonal for the summer that ends in September. We don't have much control of the river and September is a time of year that it is more shallow, but there are areas of the river that are quite fish-able. Again, I am so sorry you didn't enjoy it here.

This is a nice little park. Peaceful with a creek/river running alongside of it. I would agree with past reviews that say it is "out of the way" which is good, but the ¼ mile of gravel road to get to the park is not what I anticipated. And, although we reserved a site with full hook ups, the sewer was not easily accessible, so we did not use that or the water hook ups. We were able to get to and stay in the park in our 45' coach but I would not agree that this is a big rig "friendly" park. We were only looking for a place to stop overnight but think I would look for a park a little easier to get in and out of next time. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Motorhome.

Thank you for your review. I am glad you liked our park, but I do wish I had known you were having trouble with the hookups. We would have gladly tried to help or found a different site for you if we had one available. We have many big rigs come in and usually don't have a problem accommodating them. I do still have the books you left us to give out and will be sure to feature them for you.

This is our 7th summer at Spring Creek and we drive over 1,000 miles to reach what we consider paradise by the river. The park is small and beautifully maintained. On the sign, it says "Big Rigs Welcome" and they are. That does not mean every site can accommodate a 40 or 45 foot coach. We have a 45' coach and we make our reservation far in advance so that we can be in a comfortable, appropriate site. When travelers arrive late in the day without a reservation, their options may be limited as the park has been very busy this year, probably because the vast majority of visitors find it charming and peaceful. Even so, the managers and staff try very hard to accommodate everyone as long as there is space. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Motorhome.

We are here for an extended period and usually eat at the Timber Bar, known for its fried chicken, and The Grand. We generally travel to Livingston to Albertson's for groceries and to Bozeman for Costco and Walmart when we really need to provision. There are a lot of lovely drives around the area and the staff can point you in the right direction about local attractions.

This is a great, peaceful place to stay. Boulder River is wonderful. Park staff are great. The ONLY complaint I have is the restroom facilities...one shower for each gender on each end of park (2), and showers are old and very cramped. With such a wonderful place, they really need to update their shower facilities and increase the number of showers offered. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Travel Trailer.

We are so sorry you were unhappy with your site. We were very busy that night and was the only FHU available. We wish you had come to the office and we would have been glad to give you any help you needed. That site is well over 45 ft. and have often put Motor Homes in it. Again, very sorry you were unhappy. What a pleasant surprise. The park has 3 stocked trout ponds, lots of large trees, lots of grass and the STAFF is worth a million. When we arrived the 2 women in the office said we have your site as requested: clear view southern sky. We went to site 43, with the park manager who guided my wife into the site. Then he asked me where my hook ups were. I got them and he had me fully hooked up in 5 minutes. One of the best customer service experiences I have ever encountered. Great park. We go out of our way to go back. There are many back in sites right on the river. We camped at Spring Creek Campground and Trout Ranch in a Motorhome.
