This campground is under new ownership. They are working very hard to make improvements. So far, I could tell they have redone water electric and sewers. Lots are a little unlevel but to be expected for an old campground with lots of wheel patterns. Owners are very friendly. Grass was in need of water, very brown and stiff. Lots and yard where good size. WIFI worked well. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

A small home town. Little shops to explore. It also had a small museum about dinosaurs and a little history. Next door was a ice cream parlor. Elk Country restaurant was great, we got over fed. The town had a Lions Club swimming pool.

We agree with other reviewers that the new owners are wonderful and working hard to improve the park. Obviously an old KOA, the layout and infrastructure are dated, with 30A only. Most sites have no shade, and there is little grass. Our site was a fairly level pull-thru, and with few RVs in the park, there was ample room. The park WiFi worked well, but there is no cable or OTA TV. Verizon cell/data signal was strong. A park with enormous potential but with some ways to go. Somewhat overpriced in it's current condition, but it's the only park in the area. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Motorhome.

All gravel roads & sites with some grass between the rows. Nearly all are 30amp only, but he indicated they have "a few" 50amp. Friendly helpful folk. All sites designed to face west in a motorhome (end of June the sun is brutal on the windshield, covered or not!), but he allowed me to face east and simply run electric & water under the rig (didn't use sewer, but appears newish. Worked out well. Park is a strange design whereby RVs park in rows behind each other, so if you are in the middle you will be unable to depart before those in front of you. Not a problem when not full, and I'm sure they keep this in mind when putting you onto your site. With an electric upgrade to 50 amp and a lot of tree planting/nurturing this could be a nice little park. Site was almost level, but should have used blocks on down-hill side. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Motorhome.

New owners are making strides in improving this campground. Owners very friendly and outgoing. The restrooms were wonderful, clean & neat. It is only a short distance from downtown, but so smokey from forest fires burning in Montana we didn't walk. We camped here in a pickup camper and would most definitely return. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Truck Camper.

This campground is under new management and the owners are working diligently to improve the grounds. The showers and restrooms were spotless. But even more important, the owners are on site and extremely friendly and helpful. The owner quickly found a three prong adapter in his workshop that I needed to use my tire air pump and refused payment.

The campground still needs landscape spruce-up, but they are working to accomplish that. All in all, a great place to visit. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Pulled in here after a long motorcycle ride in the rain. Wanted a cabin and they were available. Owners very personable, introduced to parents and children. Fireworks show for all in front drive. Town within walking distance, great community for eating & small town convenience. Campground has come a long way since previous owners. Restrooms nicely remodeled, such as I wanted to wipe up any mess I may have made and squeegee the showers! Stay here, your dollars will only help the campground improve! We camped at Choteau Campground in a Cabin.

New Owners 2015/Revamped/Renovated/Immaculate. We loved our stay here at the Choteau Mtn Campground. The new owners are friendly and have cleaned up the whole grounds. The showers and toilets were fresh and spotless! Our cabin was clean and quaint. The town of Choteau is a gem, beautiful tall trees and well kept period houses along the 20 min walk to downtown.

We will make sure we come back to this lovely place! We camped at Choteau Campground in a Cabin.

Tips for other Campers:

We are from Calgary, Canada and were delighted with the small home town feel of this place. It is only 45 mins to Great Falls for more shopping. We went to the reservoir for a swim as it was hot and then drove into the mtns for a beautiful scenic drive.

New management! The place was surrounded by beautiful views and was very clean. The new owners have the campround looking incredible, and I would highly recommend the RV park to any travelers in the area. Lots of space, washers and driers, great employees. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Tent.

We have stayed at this campground regularly for the last few years to visit family in the area. Our stays have been for about a month in Jun/Jul UNTIL THIS YEAR!!! If there were an award for "Most Improved", this campground should receive that award. New management has converted this from a dreaded stay to a very pleasant experience!

The public facilities (rest rooms, showers, laundry) are now spotless. There are several small cabins available for rental that are spotless.

The staff is friendly and attentive to our needs.

There are only a few 50 amp sites and wifi is only available near the office. The staff has indicated that more 50 amp sites and boosted wifi are a high priority for them.

Don't skip a stay here based on reviews from the previous owners tenure. Although it IS the same location, it IS NOT the same place. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Motorhome.

Old Trail Museum (http://oldtrailmuseum.org/); Freezeout Lake (http://www.visitmt.com/listings/general/lake/freezeout-lake.html) - the Snow Geese migration in March is AWESOME, bird watching the rest of the year is spectacular; easy drive to Great Falls to see the C.M. Russell Museum and Gallery and the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center .

Just on the edge of Choteau. It is handy to Glacier and other nearby attractions. No shade, just gravel lanes with hook-ups. Nice park and walking path in town just a few blocks away. There is a golf course just over the hill from the RV park. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Motorhome.

One year after the last review nothing has changed except the place may be a bit more run down. Again, we were fleeing from a bad park near Helena, and my GPS identified this as a KOA, and the phone number still worked. We were told to take any spot we wanted, so we joined the 2 other rigs in the hook up area. Actually, for an emergency overnight, it worked, but I won't be back. The town is very nice, and the small golf course which calls itself a Country Club (public accepted) was pretty nice. The price was $34.25 if we paid cash, $39.25 if we used a credit card. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

An old KOA that is run down. We ended up here late in the day after a delay in Helena. Whoever designed this place did not know what they were doing. Sites, full hookup, are in a "row" not in a line, so if they did get somewhat crowded you would be trapped till the people in front of you left. Town is nice, and the Museum is great. We camped at Choteau Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
