Nice managers. Nice little park. BIG pull through spaces. Great mountain views in some spots. Great rural location with town close by. Close to Interstate 90 so a bit of traffic noise. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Motorhome.

Easy access from I-90 and there is a Pilot at the same exit. The staff were friendly and found us a site with some shade. The site was not level, we had to use 3 blocks under the front tires to get level. Only could get 2 OTA stations. They had good WiFi and there is good Verizon service. There were a several long term campers but the sites were well maintained. There was some noise from the interstate but not enough to keep us awake. They have electric only sites and full hook-up sites. We only wanted water and electric so we had to pay for full hook-up even though we didn't need it. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Motorhome.

We would come back for an overnight stay. Convenient access from I-90. Site was reasonably level, hooks are central to front and back, wifi excellent, verizon two bars, we used sat TV only. There are trees and it you can get a site with a tree on your south side during the summer, that would be a good thing! We didn't so could not sit outside in 100 deg afternoon. Good time to check the A/C! We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Good and bad about this park. The good is that the owners are very nice and did manage to find a 50 amp, FHU, pullthrough for our one night stay. The site was easy to level up with one board, and the hookups were conveniently located. We were able to get 4 channels OTA and they were good channels, not all PBS. The part I didn't like is the price. This is located right off I-90 and also near a railroad track. There were quite a few trains, but I didn't get woken up (even though I wore earplugs) until 5 am, then there were 3 trains close together. When we hooked up I didn't like how long the grass was at our site (36) and couldn't help but wonder about snakes! The grass on both sides of our site was very long, and my husband read on their information sheet about the park a caution that "Rattlesnakes also like our RV Park. Watch out for them at all times." I called the office and told them I had just read that and asked them to mow our grassy areas because there were places it was over a foot long. It was their break time (1-3pm) but they said they would come look when they got back. Unless it was a drive-by, we never saw them come and the grass wasn't mowed or weedeated. The owner said the snakes are only in the fields, not the park, but the fields were just a driveway apart from our RV. Lastly, the very nice shade tree REALLY needed to be trimmed...it scratched our RV a lot. This is not a destination park, but a place for an overnight stay. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is very convenient to I-90 and is quite a pleasant place to stay. Our pull-through site was long enough that we didn't have to disconnect our towed vehicle. Our site was open and sunny, but there were others that were shady. There is some road noise and a train, but neither bothered us. Office staff was friendly. We would definitely return here if we were in the neighborhood. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Motorhome.

Rather rustic, but super enjoyable. The park is well organized with the power only sites in the first row which are back in, and then the rest are pull thru. Approximately 40 sites. Very informative packages are left for people arriving after hours. Great view of the mountains. The campground and the community are in a valley setting. People seem super friendly. We will be making a return visit in a couple of weeks and look forward to it. We stayed 3 nights this trip and plan on 5 the next trip. We stayed here overnight, though some are there long term. For us this park would only be for overnight., not much in the area, unless you have family there. WIFI died during the night. OTA TV, told three channel, but could only get one. Sites was on the side of a hill and not very level. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a small campground in Columbus, MT. We stayed for 4 days to attend our grandson's high school graduation. It had been raining for a couple of days so the entire area was a little bit wet but it was tolerable. The staff at Mountain View was extremely friendly and helpful. The campground was right off the interstate so you had a little road noise but it wasn't extreme. Only 5 over the air TV channels, wi fi was OK. Overall experience was good and we will stay here again if we're in the area. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Restaurant selection and shopping is rather limited in Columbus. The nearest city with shopping and a better restaurant selection is about 20 miles to the west. The Yellowstone river runs through Columbus but this time of year it was running near flood stage so there was no boating or fishing. In the past we did some white water rafting on Stillwell creek which was a great experience. Great scenic drives an views in the area.

Older park, gravel roads. A couple of long-term residents but not a problem. Good sized sites with easy access from the freeway. Even though it seems close to the freeway there really isn't any freeway noise in the park. There are some trees but we asked for an open site for our satellite. There are about 4 or 5 local air antenna stations but they do come in good. The restroom and showers are older but very clean. The owner/manager is very nice and accommodating. There aren't any other RV Parks for many miles in either direction so it is nice that this one is decent. The Verizon Wireless is very good and 4G. The WiFi was good but not many people there which is always the limited at RV parks. The only issue we had was in our site (#14) the sewer connection was a bit uphill from our sewer outlet. Our trailer is lower than many larger RV's so it might not be an issue for a bigger/higher rig. We would stay here again if we were passing through. Not sure if there is really anything to do in the area. We just stayed one night on our way east. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Travel Trailer.

This is our third year in a row staying here. See my 7/16 review for a more detailed description of the park. We, again, had a FHU, pull-through site that was satellite friendly. The Wi-Fi worked fine until the park filled up. The bath and laundry facilities are older but clean. I saw no recycling. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Motorhome.

Gravel road and sites. Rules warn you about rattlesnakes possible in park. This is a very basic campground. Owners were very nice and welcoming. Lots of long term tenants. One long term tenant even had a cow pen completely encircling their trailer! Wifi was good and satellite friendly in most sites. Good for an overnight stop but would not stay long term. Park is just a block or so North of the highway and easy to get to. However, this also means that you hear road noise through out the night. Our site only had electric which is all we needed for an overnight stay. Pull through sites with full hookups were available. Our back in site was not bad. Level side to side and front to back. It was a bit narrow but not too bad.

The only incident was that we were not given the codes to the bathrooms. The explanation given was that the showers are an extra cost ($2) and when asked if we wanted to shower we said 'no' and the clerk assumed we did not need the bathrooms. The next day the clerk was not very "customer friendly" about the situation - enough said. We camped at Mountain Range RV Park (Winters - Monthly Only) in a Travel Trailer.

Good overnight right off I90. Some interstate noise. Dirt/gravel pads with grass and picnic tables. Many pull throughs. Fhu and e/w. 50/30 amp. Some sites shaded. Some more level than others. Friendly town. Farmers market on Thursday. Pilot fuel stop. Montana Silversmith factory and outlet store. Try Bearstone Cafe for breakfast - great pancakes and the Big Lunchbox truck for lunch - great hamburger. Ford dealer was very helpful in taking care of our towed and getting us back on the road.

Personnel was cheerful and check in was efficient. The park appears to be a little neglected. The site we were in wasn't level and the picnic table needed to have the wood replaced. The advertised WiFi was not very good where we were located, but we witnessed people on their devices on the benches outside the park office. Tips for other Campers:

Columbus is located right on the Yellowstone river, so fishing and kayaking. There are a couple of casinos in town if that's your thing. Also, the Museum of the Beartooths (the local mountain range) contains exhibits on miners, frontiersmen, cattle industry and Native cultures. Montana Silversmiths jewelry is located here and there's an outlet store right on the road into town. There's a nice IGA supermarket at 133 N Fifth St.
