We finally made it back to this area after 9 years and we stayed at North American again. This is a terrific location near the west entrance to Glacier NP. Our site (H27) was an end site on the back row and was a back-in. It may be the best site in the campground due to its privacy and extraordinary length. The 5th wheel and two vehicles easily fit with room to spare. Threading the truck and 5er at an angle between large rocks was a tricky back up however. ATT service was good. The laundry room was clean. We would stay here again if we decide to return to the area. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Canyon Foods (Grocery) west of the campground has delicious fried chicken. You can pick up excellent huckleberry ice cream there and pay less than just about anywhere else. Hit the Park EARLY to beat the crowds.

Great place to camp for access the Glacier NP. GNP west entrance is about five miles away. The campground was clean and the hosts were great. We came out a forest service CG and our RV was covered in road dust. For $6, you can wash your RV on site which I gratefully took advantage of. We also used the laundry. It was clean and inexpensive. Wifi was awful. We were less than 50 feet from the office wand could not get a solid signal. AT&T cell was good and we ended up hot spotting for online needs. Sites are tight on space. Access to them is excellent. One of the few places I didn't bush branches getting to my site. We decided to extend one day and the CG was able to accomdate us in a different site. (The only "problem" was the campers on the new site didn't respect the noon check out and the hosts had to go there three times to ask them to vacate) Route 2 is a busy road and there are trains regularly. Road noise wasn't an issue for us but occasionally your get some road noise from trucks etc. Despite the wifi issue, we would camp here again. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Costco and Wal Mart are 30 min west in Kalispell. Whitefish is a great town with a cool downtown area. Walkable and has good food options. City Deli and bakery had the best huckleberry scone on earth! Whitefish Mt. has a chair/gondola ride to the summit and a nice hike down (3-4 miles) East Glacier is about 1:15 hours on US 2 if you not a fan of Road to the Sun. Two Medicine is the quiet place at GNP. Aster falls hike is kid friendly with a good summit view. Watch for moose too.

Cheaper than a lot of other campgrounds in the area. Wifi in and just outside the office was OK, anything more than 50 feet away was quite poor. Poor to non-existent T-Mobile service, both phone and data, and that poor service extended through most of the area. The campground itself was clean, with gravel roads and sites. Dust was an issue at times. Only 2 dumpsters for the entire CG, and they were full just a couple of days after being emptied. Many of the other campers we talked with during our walks were multiple repeat visitors to the CG. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The campground is right off US RT 2 and about four miles from the west entrance of Glacier National Park. Internal roads are gravel and we were easily able to navigate into the park and into our site with our 45ft MH and toad. The CG is nicely maintained with flowers throughout. The sites are gravel with a small section of grass between. They are close together but our site, on the south side of the campground, was very long and easily accommodated our coach and car. The utilities are placed toward the front of the site and worked well. Our site was satellite friendly and we did not receive any OTA channels. Our Verizon signal was fair to moderate. The Wi-Fi mostly worked quite well. We were situated near the office and router so the signal was fairly strong. It did slow during peak hours but was adequate for gently internet surfing. We did not use the laundry or rest rooms so cannot comment on that. There is a fenced pet area and also lots of space to walk the dog around the resort. There are a couple of playgrounds in the park which the kids seemed to enjoy. Office staff were extremely friendly and helpful, both on the phone and in person. We would stay in this park again if we were in the area. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

Stayed one week in a 43' motorhome. Easy check-in and on-off from Hwy 2. Just west (5 mi) of main gate to Glacier National Park. Site #H16 is level FHU PT gravel, no shade or cable. Interior roads are paved. Big Rig friendly. All utilities worked well. Park is a combination of PT and back-ins with & w/o shade. Park also has Yurts and cabins. Office offers ice, firewood and DVD rentals and supplies. Laundry room has a change machine and washers and dryers are $1.50 each and is clean and comfortable next to the guest lounge. There's a playground area with volleyball, basketball, tetherball and swings. No doggie park but a lot of room to walk your dog. There's a general store (separate from CG) in front area with gifts and food items. Closeness to park made it easy to get into GNP early. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

Even though we have been to the area many times in recent years, we haven't stayed here in almost 10 years. We stayed here because all we needed for a quick one night stay was the basics: a satellite friendly, FHU site with decent, usable Wi-Fi. Our site was also level and a pull through. The bath facilities were clean and the laundry looked nice. I forgot to look for recycling bins. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

I guess all the parks near Glacier are high priced, and this was too, but it was better than another one in the area for $112! This is a nice park with nice people, but there are a lot of big rocks in the park, and even though the sites were long, many people parked their tow vehicles in front of their trailers making it more difficult to hook up when we left. 14 channels of OTA TV, decent but slow wifi, good water pressure and good Verizon reception. The laundry was $1.50 for both washers and dryers, and dryers ran nearly an hour, so that was good. The site we were given was actually 2 sites, B2 and B3, and the first part of the site was very unlevel, so we pulled forward on B3 and had to use one board under the tires to level it, but we parked our truck behind the unit. Hookup locations on that site were good for water, sewer and 50 amp electric. This is only about 8 miles from West Glacier, so that was nice. There is also a General Store in front of the park for supplies. Interior roads were dusty, but laid out well if people just wouldn't park sticking out in the road. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Glacier National Park first and foremost, and if you can take a Red Bus Ride ($55 and up) DO IT! We ate at Glacier Diner and it was pretty good. West Glacier has places to eat too, but we only had a drink there. McDonald Lodge is very convenient when staying on the west side, and be sure and walk down to the boat because the view is FABULOUS and you will miss it if you don't walk close to the lake.

Nice, clean park with good spacing between sites. Nice views of surrounding wooded hills. Showers were very clean with good hot water. Staff very helpful. We had two problems with our RV while we were there. Staff suggested a tire store in Columbia Falls where we got great service. The staff also loaned us a ladder to use for our awning issues. Nice place for base to see the west side of Glacier. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

Decent park, but nothing special. Right along Hwy 2, so there is some road noise as well as train horns in the distance. Some sites have shade trees and others are wide open. Verizon Mifi, Dish Satellite, Consumer Cellular, and site utilities worked fine. Very small fenced dog run available. Would stay here again at PA rate. If you rent a RZR at the place in Coram, spend your time on the trails on Desert Mtn. Columbia Mtn is just driving along the power lines for a few miles. Desert Mtn has a lot of roads/trails to explore. Huckleberries taste like blueberries to me.

Great place to stay to see this area. Wi-fi was ok but kept dropping out at night. Site needed a little leveling but not bad. The pull-through was just big enough for my 38' 5th wheel and truck. Interior roads were tight but manageable. Very little shade within the CG. A little too expensive for me. Will probable look for another CG if in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We planned on a week but found there was so much to do at Glacier National Park that we stayed 2 weeks. Staff is very friendly, but we thought the RVers staying there were the friendliest of anywhere we have stayed. Site required one layer of leveling blocks, but setup and hookup was easy. Laundry facilities were very nice, and we never had to wait to use them. People spend the summer there, and a couple leave their RV there all year, but none of the sites looked junky - all clean, with plants and flowers in some. When we come back to Glacier, we will stay here again. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Glacier is so worth the visit. It is easy to spend 2 weeks there Wished we could have stayed longer. Forest fires were a big problem this year because they have had so little rain, but the air where we were was pretty clear until the last couple of days. There were no fire dangers around the campground, and even the days that were smoky weren't a danger to our health.

Enjoyed this park. Convenient to Glacier National Park entrance on west side--about 7 or 8 minutes away. Several restaurants close by. Navigating their paved roads in the park was easy. We had a pull through that was on a slight angle, so pulling in was easy. Most sites are pull throughs, gravel, level, convenient hookups. There were one or two shade trees per site--just enough shade without feeling wooded in. Hubbie did need to take the satelite dish off the ladder mount to get reception (thank goodness he can). Only a couple of channels available over the air. Management allowed us to wash both the tow car and our rig on site. (They both really needed it!) WiFi only worked in the office/lounge area the first two nights we were there, couldn't even see the park name on wifi network screen. Suddenly on day three, not only could we connect and check e-mails and Facebook, but I was even able to post pictures from my IPhone. I did need to go up to the office to post pictures from my DSLR on my laptop. No big deal--the lounge area is open 24/7 with security code. Bathrooms and showers were spacious and very, very clean. Laundry room was a bit cramped, with 4 washers ($1.50/load) and 4 dryers ($1.50 for 45 minutes). Lounge area had large screen TV, pool table, games, books, coffee, etc. DVD's for rent for $2/night in office. I'd stay here again. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

It's very easy to get to this medium-sized RV park as it's right on the road that takes you to Glacier National Park. The RV park is well laid out and navigating it is easy. The office management was very friendly and helpful. The sites are a bit narrow, but most RVs won't have an issue with them. The length varies a bit from site to site, so check the site you're given and ask for a different one if it's too short. We had a nice shade tree and a little bit of grass around our gravel site, with good hookups. We had a picnic table but no fire rings (no fires allowed). If your tow vehicle won't fit in you site space, there is convenient parking very nearby (you can usually see your vehicle). The WiFi was fair but got up to middlin' when we boosted it. Although Verizon showed 1 or 2 bars of 4G, we never got better than 1 bar 3G equivalence. Bathrooms were adequate and clean; laundry room had 4 washers, 4 dryers and was clean; there is a small game room. Other than relatively poor Internet access (of any kind), we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. We camped at North American RV Park & Yurt Village in a Motorhome.

Access to Glacier National Park is easy and close by. Going-to-the-Sun Road through the park is incredible and not to be missed! While there are various services in the small towns around the RV Park, a quick drive into Whitefish will provide everything you'll need. However, I do always encourage people to patronize the local stores. There is a General Store right at the park, and it's fairly nice.
