We stayed here last year (see my 7/16 review for a more detailed description of the park). Again, we had a FHU site that was satellite friendly. this is a small, quiet riverside park within walking distance of the center of town. The bath and laundry facilities are adequate. Typical of the area, I saw no recycling. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

KOA should get the owner to train other KOA owners. Very well laid out and maintained. It was nice to be treated as a customer. Would stay here again and highly recommend it. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Only stayed one night because we had reservations for another park in town that was full for this night. Park in town along a river, very quiet. We had to take a back in site that was not long enough for our rig but the owner had us at the end of the road so was not a problem. Staff was very helpful and escorted to our site. Water pressure was strong and electric was good. Park is maintained very well with grass between each site. Pad was gravel but was level and each site had a picnic table. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

We used this as an overnight and for that it is fine. The power and water were great. The sewer was easy to reach. The place was quiet and no frills campground. Their wifi was poor to nonexsistant. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

GPS wanted us to turn one street sooner but we went down to the sign. It is a fine overnight stop. GO to the prison and car museum and visit it.

Campground nestled just off a city street. Turning into the CG looks like you're entering a junk yard but right behind is the CG. Entrance road narrow so swing wide in the street to help align your entry. Take exit 187 from I-90, into Deer Lodge, MT, turn left on Milwaukee. Watch for little "KOA" sign high up on a lamp-post on left side of road - turn right. Friendly staff. Credit cards accepted. CG roads are crushed gravel, no trees, no obstacles, gentle turns. FHU-20/30/50. Sites vary, some back-in "shorties", longer pull-thrus, well-kept grass between sites, level with pedestal slightly forward of mid-rig. Sewer cap below ground level. No patio. Picnic tables. Good satellite reception. County prohibits fires due to dry conditions. No firewood sales. Good water pressure and taste. Small office store with snacks, trinkets, some RV necessities. Restrooms/showers - not inspected. No propane sales. Laundry available 24/7. No playground. No cable TV. Free Wi-Fi with good connections. Good Verizon coverage. Cabins available. No noise. Bug Report: Tree wasps (look like bees) getting ready for their winter die-off (nuisance). No recycling. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Deer Lodge, MT is a small, quaint, hamlet with I-90 connecting both ends. Pizza Hut (very good), Safeway groceries, diesel at $2.449. Local eateries, no fast food chains. No Camping World or other RV stores. Ace Hardware off Milwaukee south of Main.

The owner was great, very friendly and answered all our questions about area and our next leg. We spent 2 nights as a break from long travel days. Pretty quiet area once the city works shop next door shut down for the weekend. Campground is in town so there wasn't any highway noise. There is a rail line but I never heard a train so it must not be a main line. Entrance is a bit odd as it is a city Street shared by surrounding residents and their vehicles/RV's narrow the road. Their dogs bark at all hours which is a disturbance. This is a small campground and about half the sites back to a river and are shorter then needed for larger rigs. So while we were there that part had only 1 rig while all the larger sites were full, thereby making it somewhat crowded. Owner does a fine job keeping the place up and appeared to be alone doing it. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Interior roads and site pads were gravel with relatively adequate spacing. Since the CG wasn't full, they left empty sites between campers. Restrooms and laundry were clean and the staff was pleasant and friendly.

They have a recycle container. Noise was low and security wasn't needed (small town). The CG is right in the town of Deer Lodge just down from their only traffic light. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

If we have stayed here before it must have been last century. What surprised me the most was that there was no usual KOA "park map" given at check in - all we got was the receipt and a slip of paper with the internet password. This small (40 site) KOA has gravel sites with "grass between the sites. Half are pull through, FHU and half are W&E back ins along the Clark Fork River. The hookups for these sites share every other site so every other RV will have the W&E on the "wrong" side. The main building is old and houses the office, an expensive ($2.50 just the washer) 4 machine laundry, and half a dozen small individual bathrooms with sink, toilet, and shower. They were clean and, for a change) more than adequate for a park this size. There is no cable TV but most sites appear to be satellite friendly. The WIFI was OK until it got dark. It then slowed down and became useless. The owner was pleasant and helpful. I saw no sign of any recycling. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

An older park run by the owner. When we arrived at 2:30 one afternoon, we were the third unit in the park. It was 2/3 full at night though since it is a convenient overnight spot. The age shows, but it is right on the river with trout fishing! We saw drift boats and kayaks float by each morning. No internet that worked, no cable, no over the air television. It is convenient though. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The sites for pull through are long enough for 40' plus our large towed. They are close with grass strip between rigs. There is a nice river that runs next to park with Brown Trout. Quiet area. I would stay here again. Very nice staff and park is very well maintained. Small private restroom/showers are well maintained. The host was exceptional. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The cute town and all the fun stuff to see was walking distance from the RV Park if you are able to walk on level ground for 2 miles on side walks. The walk to Main Street is only 1/4 mile. The auto museum was worth the 10.00 but for that price you get to also tour the prison built in late 1800's and 3 other specialized museums. This is on one end of town. Kohrs Ranch State Park is on the other other end. This is a self guided tour of a living, working ranch. Golfing is also nearby.

We normally don't stay at KOAs and this one was very disappointing. The lots are tight and gravel. Almost stepped in dog mess while hooking up. The lots on the river are small and short but would be nice if it wasn't 24 degrees. The area around the park is rundown, local homeowners use same road to enter their area. There were 5 run-down trashy looking campers that seemed permanent as you enter the park. Wifi worked well. This park is not worth the price we paid which reflects a Discount. We would not stay here again. We camped here for two nights. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel. Note: the lady who checked us in and took care of the park was awesome! We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Staff was very pleasant & helpful and the hookups were good. The restrooms/showers are clean & nice as individual rooms. Roads & sites are gravel and the sites for big rigs are pretty close together. The sites at the river are grass, but seem to be roomier. There are a few long-term campers, but not unusual for KOA's. Workers were busy the whole time we were there. The WIFI worked beautifully. It's a perfect stop to visit the National Park Service Grant-Kors Ranch & other local museums. We would stay here again. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first stay at a KOA, and we were very disappointed. The lots were very tight. We knew there was no cable TV, but there was no digital TV either. The area surrounding the park was rundown; felt a little uncomfortable. The campground’s Wi-fi service was good as was Verizon 3G service. Restrooms were clean. This park is not worth the price we paid which reflects an AAA Discount. We would not stay here again. We camped here for one night. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
