We only stayed one night. The park was easy to get to and friendly staff. We did laundry but the laundry room was very dirty. The machines were older and also dirty. One washer and one dryer was out of order. I was surprised at how dirty the office area and the laundry room was for a KOA. The parking spot was okay but a little tight. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

I was not crazy about this park, but it did have some nice features that some people would enjoy if they can overlook the issues. On the positive side, the park is easy to get to, has lots of grass and trees, is quiet, has a nice pool, and the service is friendly. The wifi is excellent and the Verizon signal strong. There are three o/a tv channels, and there is free cable included, although you have to set up a set top box to use it. It is less than a mile to walk into downtown Dillon, a charming little town. The negative aspects of the park all have to do with the sites. All but a handful are buddy sites, and if you are in a motorhome, and not in the pull through section, you have to pull forward into the site and then back out. The pull throughs are very long, though kind of close side to side. However, I observed two big rigs having serious trouble trying to get into the sites, as it is a little difficult to navigate through the park for big rigs. The back in sites have nice wide front yards (though they are shared), but are very short and highly unlevel. I had to move from the first site they put me in because I was on such a serious side to side slant, and my rig barely fit into the site. The second site was somewhat more level (still pretty seriously slanted to the side), and I fit in there with not an extra inch to spare, front to back. I looked at the website later to see how long the sites were supposed to be, and I discovered they do not list the site lengths at all. So if you tell them you have a 30' rig, you will get put into a 30' site, with not an inch to spare. The gravel pads for the sites are much smaller than the sites themselves, which is part of the problem with leveling, since you may only get two wheels on the pad. I would recommend this park to rigs of 27' or less, if you're ok with the leveling issue. If longer, get a pull through site (they aren't as nice, though). Big rigs, just stay away. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Motorhome.

Great little place and fun people working there. The park borders a great river that is reportedly good for fishing. We saw a group of whitetail deer grazing in the back picnic area. There is quite a herd of small goats in front, but I don't know the story on them. When we walked out to see them after dinner, they had been taken inside the barn. Our site was really nice and roomy. The restrooms were clean and the pool had not yet been filled for the summer. We had dinner in town at Sparky's Garage and it was fabulous! We did make it out to the ghost town at Bannack State Park. This is the most well-preserved ghost town we have ever seen. It is a long drive out there (26 miles SW of Dillon) but we thought it was worthwhile. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Motorhome.

Typical KOA, not bad, not great. I would stay here again. Nice pool. Narrow side roads, we had a large Class A in front of us that was having trouble getting into his space due to tree limbs, but he had been here before, didn't seem to be very patient. There was a smell, traced it to the very large garbage cans that were overflowing. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

After being ask to leave another RV park in Dillon because we had a concern over the speed vehicles travelled in the park, we contacted the Dillon KOA where the management were accommodating and very friendly. Beautiful campground with mature trees and lots of grassy areas. Full service is available in other sites, but we preferred a larger site because we are travelling with dogs, so chose a site with only power and water. Will definitely put this on our list of places to stay. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 3 nights as a stop over rest on the way to Glacier. Pull through site was plenty long enough for our 37' and small SUV. Most sites are 30 amp, ours was the only 50. Be sure to specify when reserving if you want 50 amp. Buddy layout (door sides facing each other) which we aren't crazy about. One picnic table and grill for both sites. Fire pit was located on the non-door side. We didn't hang around outside much. This place was fine for our purposes but not a great place to spend a week or two. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much to do in Dillon, but University of Montana has a nice campus to stroll around. Several restaurants and downtown very close. We enjoyed attending church at Grace Bible Church. Bannack State Park about 30 minute drive, which is a main street of a town from back in gold mining days. Cool buildings and lots of history. Safeway and IGA supermarkets close.

When we called there was only a 30 amp electric/water site available but it turned out to be one of the best in the park. Long 100 ft pull-through. Sites are side by side but the space between is adequate and the space on the door side is large and grassy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi is excellent. I would stay here again. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

I stayed 4 nights in May and was happy with it. Friendly, helpful staff, wonderful clean fenced dog walk area, petting zoo. The pool was empty for painting but seemed nice. Great play ground for kids. Good cable and internet. They provide a free Charter cable box. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Motorhome.

Freindliest KOA anywhere in the northwest or coast, I have stayed in all of them. Clean and nice. Swiming pool, fishing, close to many historical ghost towns. Owners and help will go out of their way to help in anyway. If your looking for a resort take the Lincoln. If you are looking for a campground stay at the Dillon KOA. Dillon KOA was not a welcoming site after a long drive. Too many permanent, junky campers on premises. Bathrooms and facilities could use an upgrade. No recycling. I would not camp here again. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Low hanging trees scraped motor home, huge holes in roads. The site beside us used our sewer hookup and theirs was to far for us to reach. Cable ok, but poor choice of channels. WiFi okay if you are close, but slow. Will not stay again. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here twice and liked it a lot. The place is older but well maintained. The restrooms are very clean. The staff is very friendly and the owners are great. Very accommodating folks. Lots of trees, and our site, while gravel, was very level. A great place to park your rig and relax. We will be happy to stay here again. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Motorhome.

Yes! would stay here again for extended period. It may be that September is a great time for the area, but this campground is nice. Sites are a little narrow, but arranged so everyone has as much privacy as possible. Management is excellent, very helpful from check-in on through. Lots of shady sites, and many amenities (pool was closed). Store had good supplies, and propane is available (will deliver to site). Fishing just a walk across the campground. We camped at Dillon KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Had an excellent time at this KOA. The only reason I didn't give a 10 is the the men's showers could use cleaning/updating. The women's restroom was recently painted/nicely decorated, but the showers also looked older. Not the worse I've seen, and they had plenty of hot water. Also, it would appear the dog owners were using our grassy site as a dog walk - poop was all over. As for the owners - we didn't get the chance to meet his wife, but the husband was awesome! Had a pleasant conversation with him about our trip, and he was more than willing to give us information regarding area roads, even going so far as to check Pass conditions on his personal computer. He made certain to direct us away from the dangerous passes to the safe ones, and told us where we could spot moose in the area. He was very accommodating on helping us choose our site - we needed electricity so he gave us a choice between the river or by the animal pasture (we choose 26, all grass by the pasture). Will definitely stay here again! We camped at Dillon KOA in a Truck Camper.
