We really like this park. We were here at the very end of the season. By the time we left, there were almost no rigs left. The staff was very friendly, particularly the young lady who signed us in(8 months pregnant). There are trees around so all sites are not satellite friendly. The staff was very helpful in getting us a site with a treeless view to the south. Verizon worked fine here. The sites are average width. Each has a grass area with a picnic table. The grass is healthy and attracts the local elk. At times we had as many as 8 elk in the park. There are a few head-in sites with views of the city and park entrance. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

We spent a week here to explore the north parts of Yellowstone. It is a perfect location, walking distance to town and 5 min to the northeast entrance. We had a deluxe site. Ours had a good amount of room. But others in our row did not always. Sit fit our 34' MH just fine. Saw some bigger units as well. There was separate parking for our toad, but it was only about 10 yards away. Good utilities. Not so good WiFi. Easy to connect but very weak speeds. Outstanding and friendly staff. Pet area is small but functional. There are some sites with good views, it most are normal views. There are two levels. I thought the lower level spots were very close together but had some of the better views. Good Verizon coverage. Elk walking around in the evenings. Nice big laundry facility. We would stay here again. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Proximity of this campground to north entrance of Yellowstone was great. The spaces are pretty close together but there are limited options in the area with full hookups. Site 48 was the best site with a lovely view of Gardiner, mountain range, and Yellowstone entrance. Our site (#81) was up the hill. There is only one bath house (which is very nice) on the lower level by the office. WiFi was free, but spotty on speed. Our only minor complaint is that they use the upper level to turn around lots of RV's and they really created quite a bit of dust running through the upper section. That being said, we would absolutely stay here again when we visit Yellowstone. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

When visiting Yellowstone NP - with plans to explore the NW corner of the Park - Rocky Mountain RV Park is an excellent CG choice. The CG has a lower and an upper section. All RV sites are narrow and lack a sense of privacy; however, the CG is safe, well-maintained, has full-serviced sites, and employs a friendly and professional staff. We preferred sites in the lower section - along the rail fence - because several have unobstructed views of downtown Gardiner, the Yellowstone River, and the mountains to the west. Downtown Gardiner is a 5-minute walk or drive and has a wide variety of shops and restaurants. Yellowstone's NW entrance is a 3-mile drive. Campsites in the upper section of Rocky MT RV Park may be better suited for BIG RIGs. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here for three weeks in a 40-foot fifth wheel. This is the nicest park in the town of Gardiner with all facilities very well maintained. We were in a hill-top "deluxe" site with a dedicated parking site on the fence immediately across from our site. These sites were full-sun and a bit snug side-to-side but not crowded. You have a small piece of grass and a picnic table but no fire ring and even the community fire pit was closed due to high fire danger. The park and all facilities are well maintained. Expect a great deal of traffic in the mornings as people leave. High volume of rental campers that leave daily to explore the park. Also note that the entrance to the campground is a rather steep gravel road and we did slip a bit pulling 22000 pounds of trailer up the hill. Staff were friendly, professional, and proficient. The campground is walking distance to town for food and rafting adventures. You can also visit the Yellowstone Forever Institute. The north entrance to Yellowstone is less than three miles away. In our opinion, Yellowstone needs at least five full days to explore the many areas of attraction. Take your time and enjoy. This is an extraordinary piece of our American heritage that has been protected since the late 1800s. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with full hookups. The attendant in the golf cart kept a close eye on everything and drove by VERY often.. It seemed a bit much to me but if there had been any problem campers, I would have been glad to see him. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. All roads are gravel and well maintained. Excellent power, water (city) and sewer. We had a premium site with a front window view of the mountains. Our site was clean, well kept and grass was just cut. The wifi was very good for email, internet use. We don't stream, so no experience with that. Owners are friendly, attentive and very helpful. Young couple, live on the property and want your stay to be a good experience. The German bus was there one day during our stay but we did not use facilities and have no idea if that was a problem for other campers or not. We would definetly stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Right outside of Yellowstone and the Roosevelt Arch. Rafting on the Yellowstone River is available with several local companies and guides. We did the Yellowstone in a day tour and highly recommend it. They picked us up and delivered us to the campground. Worth every penny.

Many local restaurants within minutes with wonderful food. Small local market very close, but a bit pricey. Ok for milk and bread but would not want to shop for a week's worth of groceries.

The staff was very helpful and pleasant. This place is a little overpriced for what you receive. The upper loops should have a restroom and shower for their use. While we where there a European Tour bus was also there. 20 + people used the only facilitiy for this park. We used our motor home but there where numerous rigs that needed to use the park facilities. As a result we will probably not return. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Motorhome.

Upgrade to a premium site if you are able. The standard sites are very narrow and our picnic table was practically on top of our neighbor's black water discharge. The premium sites are nice with a lot of grass and a little bit of space around you. This is not a campground for sitting outside to enjoy nature. The dog park is tiny - so small you can't even really throw a ball. They do not want your dog to go anywhere but in the dog park - which I can understand because so many people do not pick up after their dogs. The staff was very pleasant and the grounds were very clean. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We went on a Yellowstone Forever tour. If you want to see wildlife, this is the way to do it. If one guide sees wolves for example, they will radio the other guides. This is exactly what happened, but unfortunately, the wolves were gone by the time we got there. Still, we saw a grizzly bear, mountain goats, and nesting heron and osprey using their spotting scope. The Raven Grill is the only really good restaurant in town. Pricey but so worth it especially if you are tired of mediocre bar food.

Within minutes of the North entrance to Yellowstone. Nicely maintained with gravel roads and parking. Small grass areas between sites with some mature shade trees. Beautiful view on the south side of the park. Steep narrow entrance without a lot of room. Small fenced off-leash dog area. Enjoyed our two-day stay and will be back. We were touring Yellowstone and came across this RV park on the internet. This place is awesome, we had camper problems and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. Not only did they get us a name for someone that would come to the park to fix it, but put us up in one of their very nice cabins until our camper got fixed. I highly recommend staying at this very clean, beautiful view RV park. The staff is awesome, very friendly, and helpful. We camped at Rocky Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
