This KOA is run by students. We were put in the most terrible site and the furthest from the washrooms. There was at least 50 to 60 % empty sites. We had to ask......no beg for another site. The value for Canadians works out to over 100.00 per night for camping. KOA Is not the same anymore. Too bad, it used to be the best.

This place should be avoided as to camping here. Very very very tight space to park. We were a bit on the road and no place for the truck if we had to disconnect. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

First off, this is the MOST expensive KOA I have encountered. Regular cost for an electric/water site is $59.00!! I would have never booked if it wasn't for a KOA 2 nights for 1 special plus the normal 10% discount. The location is convenient to the city and the campsite is fairly nice, lots of trres for shade and privacy; at least in the old section. I didn't see the new section. The bathrooms and showers are nice and private (each shower room being a full bathroom). Free firewood is good. Staff were nice and helpful, allowing us to change sites when we asked.

Now for the bad stuff (besides the price). The wifi is iffy (as it is in most KOAs) and barely worked half the time. For the cost of camping, it should have been lightning fast. The people from the adjoining property (which shares the road) constantly used the campground as a shortcut, driving through in trucks, ATVs and dirtbikes which was very annoying to say the least; like camping on a residential street. I think the KOA owners also own that property or at least employs some people from there. Needless to say, it kind of ruined the ambiance. The old section could prove a tight squeeze for big rigs. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I have a 25 foot travel trailer and we were in the old part of the campground. I was in a level, gravel, pull through site that was just long enough, about 55 feet to avoid unhooking my truck. We had grass on both sides with trees and bushes for shade and privacy from our neighbors. This KOA has the best children's swimming pool I have seen. The petting zoo, evening singers and pancake breakfast were first rate. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This park is very hard to rate. If you have a small trailer or motorhome you stay in the old side which is a bit overgrown but very nice. Lots of flowers, nice pool, pancake breakfast and so on. But we have a big motorhome so we stayed in the new section which has none of those things. The new section is mostly dirt with some gravel, and some green. I say green because it is not grass it is dense weeds. Some of the weeds are the ones with sharp points that make shoes better than sandals.

Thankfully it did not rain when we were here. It was close but just missed us. If it rains this place will turn into a mud bowl. When the weeds are removed and replaced with grass and the roads paved or graveled the new section will be fine. Until then the new section is not really a good place to stay. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Once I was able to look past our awful site (in the new area of pull-throughs), this park is quite lovely. The service is excellent and there is pride of ownership. Our children (9 through 12) loved the water feature, petting zoo, playground and breakfast, and us adults enjoyed the evening entertainment (River Town Rounders). The owner/operator needs to finish what they started in the new area. It is dusty (and I assume muddy when wet), ugly and full of weeds. If we had not been camping with another family (we just hung out at their site until bedtime) we would not have enjoyed our stay as much. There are several rundown seasonal trailers in this area too. Even if they just laid some turf in between the sites. I can look past the immature trees that haven't had time to grow yet but the foot high weeds were awful. I appreciate that if it weren't for this new pull-through area our trailer would not have fit in this campground.

Positives - free firewood, fantastic (pay) breakfast, fun activities within the campground (loved the live music and u-pick vegetable garden)

Negative - expensive site cost and still charge for pedal go carts. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 2 nights as part of a 3 week trip. Spaces were pretty close but clean. The cottages were across from where we camped and they had several cars that were blocking us and they were pretty loud. There was an area where you could go on a nature walk and we saw an awesome sunset and sunrise. Bathrooms were nice and clean and the kids loved the water park. They also offer free wood for the fire pits (as much as you want). We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Worst KOA or campground we've stayed in. You pull through the campground out into a muddy open field that has pull-throughs. Your yard between one another is prickly weeds, dandelions and other weeds that are not calf high. Homesteaders with trailers, trampolines, toys, multiple propane tanks, plastic on RV windows, plastic around the bottom of RVs, and trash laying around is what you'll be residing with. Bathroom has NO toilet paper and smells horribly of mildew. Laundry room is small, expensive and washers out of order, dryers don't heat. Kamp workers not concerned about the issues. Constant loud construction right outside your door. You would think for $82.00 a night you could get cable TV at least and would offer to pick up your bagged trash. This KOA is an overpriced DUMP. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This park is building a new section for larger units and that's where we stayed, as the older section was not yet open. We paid $60.00 plus tax for one night and this was a break on the rate because we didn't need the sewer hook-up - just power and water! The new sites are a barren open area with all the hook-ups. The sites are almost level and the roads and sites would be really muddy if it rained. Eventually if they keep at it this area will be great for larger units. The views are spectacular and it was very quiet despite some heavy construction a few hundred yards away. The older section is well treed and reasonably private. Some of the cabins are elevated over the edge of the property and have incredible views. Though it's early in the season the facility building is worn and dirty. Washrooms and showers would get a 4/10 for cleanliness, but are warm, lots of hot H2O and showers are free. Garbage cans are full and floors filthy. This place has a ton of potential if better taken care of. It's not a $60/night campground at this time. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Travel Trailer.

When we called for the space, we were told "there is no shade as it is in the new area". We were only staying two nights, so no big deal. When we got there the "big rigs" were literally in a pasture with sewer, electricity and water. The grassy area was weeds and the trees that were just planted. The gentlemen, who was helping the neighbor get electricity, told my husband they just piggy backed on to the existing electric supply when they added the new area; therefore some of the sites did not have adequate electricity to supply their "rigs". The bathrooms were 1/4 mile away in the "older" section as were the trash bins. There were no restrooms or trash bins in the new area. When we left, the trash bins were literally running over. There was a splash pad and pool for the kiddos. Supposedly there was a hot tub, but it was a ways from the "pasture" we were parked in. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

All the earlier reviews are quite accurate with regard to narrow sites, narrow roads, friendly staff, well-stocked supplies, heavy foliage, secluded sites, free firewood. Wireless was pathetic unless one stood near the office. One would think that KOA would monitor the strength of wireless signals before permitting the RV park owner could advertise that it has wireless. Price is outrageous compared to all other RV parks. There is a newer area of the park that has newly planted trees; however it was reported that the power would kept blacking out in this area. Later a staff member indicated that a malfunctioning transformer was replaced the day of my stay. This power problem did not occur in the main area of the campground. Would not stay here again. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

I've read the other reviews about the tight roads, and I'd agree. We have a 36' motorhome and it was fine, but a 40' will probably scrape some branches on turns. It's very expensive too. BUT! It's a fabulous park - so heavily planted with trees, bushes, and fruit bearing plants that there's a sense of privacy everywhere we went. Despite the lateness of the season, we were able to glean some cherry peppers, zucchini, serrano peppers, and we even shook an apple or two from a tree, ducks (geese?) waddling nearby. It's like a little Eden sitting on a small hill on the edge of town. Nice size town, too. I'd definitely come again and would even consider a longer stay in future. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

Old KOA. People very friendly and helpful. Our site was very tight for our motorhome. Could not put out awning because of trees. Sites are secluded. We had to unhook before going to site even though a pull-through. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a conundrum. Mostly well kept park built in 1977. Kids galore. Great pool for kids, nature trail, animals to look at, hay ride, decent breakfast for small price. Entertainment at night. Heck of a hard working staff of nice, polite kids. So, what's the problem. Streets and RV spots are narrow. Made more so by mostly well maintained trees and bushes which provide shade and privacy. Large motor homes and RVs just squeeze by. When making turns the sides of the units can drag along bush and tree branches. The first thing you see when entering the Park is the building roof. Needing replacement, it has been patched with a substance that looks like large Dinosaur dooo especially one sticking up over the front door. Secondly, 2 staff carts parked by front door making roadway more narrower. Walking behind the building to the sites there is an old driveway down to a garage growing weeds. Not maintained with a door hanging open. If your a looking for quiet time or early to bed , well, kids were shooting off fireworks until 10:59pm. Absolute quiet at 11:00pm when quiet time starts. This Park has a lot to offer to families with young kids. For others, probably not. It could be made much better by a serious review of the trees and bushes and then cutting/removing them out to allow for the sizes of modern RVs especially on road and site corners where tight turns have to made. It's obvious they do trim stuff, probably at the beginning oft he season, but then it grows out and is not re-trimmed. It needs serious maintenance work. We were here 2 nights. We would not stay here again because of the site size, hard turns, and scratching fauna. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
