This campground is right in town. It's pretty open, a few shade trees. Bathroom with shower was large and clean but is the only bathroom so when someone is showering, you need to wait to use the facilities. Laundry looked clean. There isn't always someone available at the office to check-in with, so that can be somewhat annoying but you are able to self check-in and get the key for the bathroom later when someone shows up. The wifi worked great. It's a handy place to camp if you need to be in Lewistown or the surrounding area. It's not an attractive campground, but it's clean and has all the facilities necessary. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This was an overnight stop for us. We got one of their two 50 amp sites which are near the back of the park. The permanent residents are behind the campground. Our site was right next to the mail boxes and the constant traffic to get mail was annoying. The sites are level and you can walk into town in 15 minutes. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

We arrived at 3; no one in the office, but our site was on the board. We went back when the office was supposed to be open. Someone was there, but ignored us. I called because I wanted to pay by another method other than the credit card I gave to hold the stop. I left a message, no one called us back.

Have no idea what the rules are. The Mobile Home Park of this place is run down. The RV sites are OK. There are permanent residence who keep the area clean. Hardly any shade. Back-in and pull-through, full hook up 50 amp. No other amenities that we saw. Wouldn't come back. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Arrived after 10 PM because I had problems with my tow vehicle and could not leave until after it was fixed at 1 PM. When I came to the office in the morning I was told I would have to pay for two days despite staying less than 24 hours. Because it was early November, the park was less than 10% filled. I will never stay at this campground again because of such a stupid policy.

Beyond that, the campground is relatively clean. Few if any trees. Lots are good sized. Not close to downtown Lewistown or any other sites other than the Fergus County Fairgrounds. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lewistown is a very nice town. I have spent much time there. Two must-hit events are their cowboy poetry festival and Choke Cherry Festival.

We've stayed here 3 years for the Cowboy Poetry weekend events. This year we didn't get our reservations soon enough to be in the regular campground area and was assigned a place in the mobile home area. This turned out ok since it was very quiet. Could not receive wifi where we were and had to park on grass which we were glad we had put down the jack pads because after the big rain the jacks were down in the ground quite a bit. With a little work the campground could be made better. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If attending the Cowboy Poetry weekend, reserve early. The 50 amp sites are not real plentiful.

Open grassy areas for tents, graveled spots for RV's. Very clean individual restrooms and showers. Large congregating area inside with wi-fi and ample seating. Microwave, dishes, dish soap provided. Arrived as self-serve after hours, keys available to bathrooms. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Tent.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to Doc's restaurant for an excellent meal and walk downtown / historic district for a nightcap. North side of town is kind of run down but provides ample old car viewing if you are into that kind of thing (I am).

Nice level clean site out in the sun. Nightly rate reflects an added pet fee. Good for an overnight stop. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed overnight in a pull-through. The campground is full of mobile homes and full timers. The very best thing about the campground is its Wi-Fi, the best I ever seen at a campground. I thought I was back home. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Not much choice in the area surprisingly, given its proximity to some good outdoor areas. This park caters to full-timers with park models, the overnight RV trade is a bonus and it shows. It's basic, good for an overnight I guess. Washroom is for one person - if someone's in the shower you're out of luck. Staff were friendly but I was given a site, no site map, and no directions - had to find it myself. Wifi was spotty, didn't work at all on my iPad. I won't hurry back. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Only stayed here a couple of nights due to problems with our trailer brakes so that probably skews our review a little. Our GPS got us to the right area but told us to turn after we should have so we did a grand tour of the mobile home park. Once we found the office the staff was friendly and we paid one night at a time. We had a long pull thru that we could park either on the front or the back of the fifth wheel. Gravel roads and the sites could use more gravel. Utility hookups were convenient. We probably would not stay here again unless we had to or just for one night. It was great to have a place to hookup, but not that great. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had a full hookup site on level gravel located right in town. As stated in previous reviews, the bathrooms are kept quite clean. The campground sites are wide enough to extend slides and awnings and still have room to place chairs and tables on the grass between sites as picnic tables were on just a few sites. The town is very nice and there are a couple of good restaurants a short drive from the campground. The campground offered free Wi-Fi which worked very well during our stay. Cell phone service on AT&T was 4G full-bars and Verizon is 4G LTE. There were four over-the-air TV stations. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

Clean restrooms and easy access to site that was clean and sufficient in size. No picnic table at our site. We were there for the cowboy poetry gathering and this was a very convenient place to stay and I would stay here again. A number of the sites looked like permanent residents but not in a bad sort of way. They seemed to be always cleaning up the bathrooms which was great for us. Site is gravel with some patches of grass and a few trees but it was very well kept. The only thing that did not seem as well kept is the office where you check in but that really did not impact our stay. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Long pull through, not very level, had to access from a side street. No shade, kinda pricey for what you get. Lots of permanent residents, which increases the traffic, and noise. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a good campground. It is part of a mobile home park, but set off to one side. Easy access to sites from a side road for pull throughs. Sites are no problem being level, wide enough, long enough and plenty of distance between sites. Sewer connections are unusual but no problem. No problem with access to satellite. I have no problem staying at this campground and would stay here again. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
