We really enjoyed our stay here. Owners were very helpful and friendly. Laundry and bathrooms were very clean. WiFi worked best in laundry room but was weak at campsite at times. Cable TV was great. We had a full hook up. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very small RV park with about 20 sites. Some are pull-through and most are long enough to allow a fifth wheel or toad to remain hooked up. This place was very clean and well maintained and is right on the river making it exceptionally peaceful. Each site had a new or recently refinished picnic table. Even though it is right next to the road that was not at all noticeable from our site. Both the Mens and Womans facilities were single seaters making for lines in the morning. There was also only a single shower in each and the laundry contained a single washer and dryer.

The wifi, for me, was unuseable. The signal was mostly below 80 dbm (one bar or less) and kept fading in and out. The wifi router's were set to not assign IP addresses so the only thing you could do was surf the general web. My bet is that the three wifi routers that were visible were only desktop devices intended for covering a room or two and not intended for use outside the building they were in.

The cable TV coverage was outstanding, delivering 60 or so channels but nothing local. Verizon cell was borderline weak and my Galaxy 6 kept switching between 3g and 4g which was disruptive to my using it as a hotspot.

The downside is the owner/manager was very domineering and overbearing. I might have met a more obsessive control freak at some time in my 72 years but I really cant remember when. It made what could have been a very enjoyable 5 star stay very unpleasant. The guys adversarial and confrontational attitude escalated one or two trivial situations into unnecessary conflict. You cant sugar coat rudeness and disrespect with "Sir", "Please", and "Thank You's"; rude is still rude and completely uncalled for. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Outrageous trout fishing in the adjacent river. Lots of nearby places offer float trips. An evening forray along the nearby foothills revealed whole herds of deer and on the way back that evening we saw a large group of antelope.

When we were there in September there were huge winds. The campground is located in the mouth of a canyon and this is apparently a fairly routine thing.

Kind of spendy for what you get, but it's on the way to Yellowstone so that's probably why. Wonderful owners; very helpful. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Fifth Wheel.

Owner met and escorted us to the chosen site. All sites are level gravel with utilities near the middle, including free cable TV with lots of channels. CG provides hook-up and remote for the cable system. Wi-Fi not so good, weak signal and on-off all the time. Our Verizon Jetpak had a 4bar, 4G signal. CG is on the bank of the Yellowstone River with walking trails. Good services available in Livingston, 2 miles from the CG and Yellowstone North Gate is 52 miles south. Busy CG with lots of overnight campers. Water pressure sometimes is pretty bad, barely a trickle at times. Nice office and lounge building. Clean laundry 1 washer & dryer. Clean restrooms and showers. The utility building closes every day at 11AM for cleaning. This is a pleasant CG and we will return when in the area. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Fifth Wheel.

When we pulled into this campground the owner immediately got us into our space. Later his wife came to collect the rest of the money for our weekly stay. It was a very efficient check in process. The owners are very friendly and even came to our site on the day of our departure to say "goodbye". Our site was level and a bit narrow but had a nice grassy area with freshly painted picnic table. This is a small park so not a lot of amenities but very nicely maintained. The owner came to connect the cable tv which had over 70 channels. Only one washer and dryer but $1.50 to wash and $1.00 to dry. We would stay here again. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Livingston is nice little town with lots going on. The train station museum is worth a visit. Katabatic Brewery located downtown has some good brews and allow dogs. If you ride a bike to the brewery on Sunday, they have a $1.00 off the first pint special. Rubber Ducky rents rafts and kayaks and has delivery and pick-up service to the Yellowstone River.

Best park we have ever stayed at. Owners were a 10 plus. They could not do enough for you. Stayed two weeks. Small, quiet personal park. First time owners stopped by the last night and said goodbye and thanked us for staying with them and wished us safe travels. Great park! We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Motorhome.

The park is located south of Livingston with good entry and exit. Sites are are spaced well with grassy area between sites. Satellite and Verizon signals were good. Nice scenic drives in area and close enough to Yellowstone for a day trip. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Motorhome.

Rock Canyon is a very small, basic park that might otherwise rate a little lower if it weren't for the wonderful owners. As others have mentioned, the owners are the most friendly, helpful, and attentive we've come across at any RV park, and really make your stay enjoyable. They're always our and about maintaining the park, greeting guests, petting our dogs, and when we had an Amazon delivery they brought it right to our RV. The park itself has around 20 sites, including a couple tent sites and no-hookup sites in a grassy field. The sites are about average in size, not exactly spacious but plenty of room to open slides and awnings, with a grassy area between each site. Our water pressure was surprisingly low at times, especially in the morning, but electric (and sewer) were fine. We had strong WiFi signal, and much of the time we had decent speeds, but we were disconnected fairly often and had to reconnect, and in the evenings it often slowed to a crawl or was unusable. Without a booster, there is no AT&T signal, and only a very weak 1-2 bars of Verizon signal which meant our hotspot was extremely slow also. With our cell booster, we got 1-2 bars of AT&T, enough to make phone calls but not use data, and 3-4 bars of Verizon, which made our hotspot performance fairly quick. Although the park is small, it has a couple grassy fields where we walked our dogs each day, and easy access to the Yellowstone river where the dogs loved going for a swim each afternoon to cool off. We did end up with some mosquito bites, and had some flies and moths make their way into the RV, so bug spray may be a good idea. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Motorhome.

We had very high winds come in suddenly at times, so it's wise to keep awnings closed or tied down if unattended.

Very clean, owner attended park. Nice location, on the Yellowstone river. The owners put a lot of work into this park, and it shows. The only negatives are one washer and dryer, the wireless network uses routers inside the buildings, so your signal strength may be low outside, and there is a bit of road noise from the main highway to Yellowstone. There are no mosquitoes, because of local government sponsored spraying. This is probably the best park between Livingston and Yellowstone. I would like to see a more reasonable monthly rate (currently 4 times the weekly rate). We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Fifth Wheel.

The bathrooms are spotless together with the laundry facilities. The surroundings are beautiful and restful and the park owners are the most gracious we have come across. Our dog loved the River adjacent to the park and everyone had a wonderful time. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Motorhome.

This was our second stop on a round trip to Glacier and we were

pleasantly surprised. The owners were more than happy to spend as much time as was needed to get us all set up even though we were last to show up for the day, about 9 PM.

I rented the rig and wanted to try out cable for the first time, The owner spent a good half hour helping us and trying to figure it out. We never did make it happen but he was more than willing to even stay longer. I had to send him on his way!

Bathrooms were extremely clean (the best we had on the whole 2 week trip). We didn't use laundry or have much extra time to explore but the location is beautiful between two canyon walls, can get a big windy in that tight squeeze so watch the awnings.

Highly recommend. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Motorhome.

Family run park with individualized attention. The owners come to the site to check you in and to connect the cable TV and give you info on area attractions. They recommended an excellent fly fishing guide and we were pleased with him.

There is a laundry area with newer machines and owners were readily available to answer questions and make suggestions for restaurants and activities.

There is a bike path across the road from the park and it leads to downtown Livingston in one direction and in the other it leads to a small road that borders the Yellowstone river. Nice bike riding area, fields of hay and great views.

The campground has views of the Yellowstone River cliffs and you can see, in the distance, snow capped mountains. You can walk out to the Yellowstone River but you have to traverse a 1/4 mile of river stones and sand to get there, watching the entire time for wildlife. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Travel Trailer.

Try a guided fish trip with Chase Chapman at Yellowstone Angler. We were complete novices but he was patient and we had an enjoyable half day on the Yellowstone.

Enjoyed 2 weeks parked on the Yellowstone site #15. The owners take so much pride in this property. They are there to guide you in at check-in and up bright and early to see you on your way. Met several guests who spend the entire summer there- wish we had! We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Travel Trailer.

A very small, family-run park right on a side channel of the Yellowstone river, in a small, scenic canyon on the south end of Livingston. About 18 sites with shade trees, grassy patches & picnic tables, gravel roads and level gravel pads. Cell phone reception okay, WiFi fairly fast, no problems encountered. There is a small laundry room with one washer & dryer, open 24 hrs/day. The clean, well-maintained restrooms are home style; the mens has only one toilet stall, one sink, and one shower. This could be problematic depending on the number of guests and their needs. The mens toilet stall is rather small, so tall old folks like me bump their knees, and have trouble getting back to a standing position; the stall could stand to be extended about 6”. The owner/operators are very helpful, the nicest folks you could find anywhere. When they spotted a Mountain goat on the cliffs above camp, they came around and told everyone in the camp, so they could see it. Full hookups $40/night (cash or check only, no credit cards). We stayed two nights in September in a popup trailer; this will be our first Livingston MT choice in the future. We camped at Rock Canyon RV Park (Closed) in a Tent Trailer.
