While the landscaping was very pretty it just seems they are trying to make this some sort of "upscale" campground, especially with all the rules. We were supposed to have full hookups but didn't have running water - no apologies, no discount. We were placed in the back of the park so we got to hear a train running through every 2-4 hours during the night and it was so loud. The second night we kept our radio on just to cover the noise. We had people walk their dogs through our campsite three or four times even though it specifically states in their list of many rules not to do that. It appears that they have a lot of people living there. Then there's the fact that there's no fire pits. What's camping without a camp fire? We probably won't be staying there again. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Jennifer Ballenger, owner at Jim & Mary's RV Park responded to this review

I apologize your stay was less than ideal. During this time of year, we shut the water off in half of our park due to the approaching winter. I apologize this was an inconvenience for you, but the hydrants for the available sites cannot withstand freezing temperatures. We do, however, have one site available for filling and dumping tanks, as well as a fully functioning, clean restroom and shower house for your convenience. Usually, we discuss this with customers before they arrive at the park. Since we are open year-round, we often have customers request space during the winter months (Oct-Mar), but none are long term residents. The water in that half of the park stays on only because they insulate and heat tape their pipes and hoses to prevent freezing. As for fire pits, we do allow propane, but no wood or charcoal. I apologize for the customers walking through your site as well! We ask all of our guests to respect each others' privacy.

Booked in advance, staff is friendly and very helpful. Train is nearby but not bothersome for us. Bathhouse is one of the best I've been in. WIFI was excellent, we were told it had just been upgraded. Cable TV was pretty good, only had one channel that didn't come in clear, not exactly sure if it was a problem on their end or mine. AT&T and StraightTalk cell signals weer good. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here in Missoula to have some work done on our motorhome at a facility just down the street. It’s a beautiful park! Although we were there in October after the summer, the gorgeous flower beds were still somewhat in bloom and it’s apparent that they care about their park. There’s an abundance of hand crafted goods in the office for sale ( which I bought) and everything is neat and tidy. Our site was easy to pull into and out of
And all the hookups worked as they should. Our interactions with the owners and one employee were very pleasant, and they seem like really nice, genuine people. Great place and easy to get to. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Our second stay and the best park in Missoula which has few alternatives. Saying that, this park would rate high in an area with lots of competition. The park was full even thought it was late September, and were glad we called ahead for a reservation. The office was closed when we arrived but all the information we needed was posted at the office to fine our site which was very spacious. One negative is that the electrical tower needs to be updated, difficult to attach a 50 AMP with a 50-30 AMP adaptor. Sites on the other side appeared to have updated towers. Showers and restrooms very clean. And no problem with train or traffic noise. We'll stay here again. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

One of nicest parks out of the 20 or so we have stayed in this year. Beautiful, well maintained grounds full of decorative flower plantings...we even had a plum tree full of delicious ripe plums right next to our site! (This did have drawback of attracting bees during day, and judging by smell...skunks at night.) Paved roads, level gravel sites, good site spacing, and easy to maneuver roads. Great, clean bathroom and shower facilities. Very friendly office staff. Cable TV, although ours was often snowy. Wifi was good, as was Verizon coverage. There is an active train line on hill above campground, and it is not too far off major highway, so had some noise issues, which we found quite tolerable. Would definitely stay here again if in area. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I'm ok with the prior recent reviews. It is noisy. There are a lot of trees, could be a problem with sat TV but their cable was acceptable. Their wifi was not. Although the office staff tried to help, we kept losing the connection. Nice job with flowers everywhere. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is our stay of choice in an area of few options. Easy access off the interstate but a bit tight maneuvering within the park. Pull through sites are gravel, fairly level, and long enough to leave the tow vehicle attached. Hookups are randomly placed; some sites have sewer in the far rear, some have water there. This time around, the sewer was close but the water required an extra hose. Nicely shaded with green grass, but each morning meant more hard water spots from the sprinkler system. Cable TV was just average, OTA had a number of channels, and satellite views were difficult with all of the tree cover. WiFi was poor but Verizon cell/data was good. We were in the back row, and the train noise, not from horns but from squealing brakes. A park with some some very attractive features, but also with a few problems. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Thank you for the review! We are conveniently located just outside of Missoula off of Highway 93, which leads to Glacier National Park, so the roadway can get busy, especially during peak season. The train schedules are extremely varied. They generally run 5-8 times in a 24 hour period, depending on the time of year. Most customers aren't bothered by it. But, as long as we're aware of what customers do and don't prefer at the time of booking (i.e. further from the road or train tracks) and we have the availability, we do our best to get them in a site that works for their needs.

This is a very pretty park just 15 minutes outside Missoula. WiFi and AT&T cell phone service were both excellent despite the park being quite full. There did not seem to be many permanent residents, if any. The surrounding area of Missoula isn't particularly forested, but the park was very nicely shaded and landscaped. Our spot was extremely spacious. There are train tracks on the north side of the park, but the train doesn't seem to blow its whistle and we didn't have any problem with train noise. You may want to request a location in the southern part of the park anyway though. Check-in was efficient and pleasant. This was a very pretty park, and we'd come back to stay again if we were in the area. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This was the second time we've stayed here and we didn't have quite the same experience as last time. We were on the A row, I don't remember the exact site but close to A7. The road is narrow and there are large bushes on the right which makes it difficult to swing wide enough to easily access the site without scraping the side of your RV on the bushes. The lawn was watered every night and the area in front of our steps was muddy the entire time we were there. Also, there was some train noise that we didn't hear last time we stayed. I still like the park but I will ask for a different row the next time we come. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here one night on our way west. The park is just outside of Missoula, MT and close to the interstate but far enough away from traffic noise. This was probably one of the prettiest, well kept parks I've been to yet! They have beautiful flowers planted in beds and pots at each site. There is plenty of room at each spot too. The spruce trees are beautiful and well-trimmed so you can get your RV in easily. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 3 nights in a 43' motorhome traveling from YNP on our way to GTNP. Easy to get to from Hwy 93. Check-in was easy. Very beautiful park with lots of shade trees and flower beds with grassy wide spots. Our site was FHU PT and cable. All utilities worked well. Big rig friendly, paved roads, site was level hard gravel. Plenty of space to walk your dog. Definitely stay here again when traveling through this area. Located just 1 mile off I-90 west of Missoula, this is possibly the nicest campground we've ever visited. Heavily treed with the many floral gardens, small sculptures, water features and old tools, farm equipment and toys. It has the feel of a botanical garden. The campground is immaculate. The staff is wonderful ... friendly and helpful. Also, the signage leading to the campground is excellent! Highly recommended for anyone traveling to or staying in the Missoula area.
