This is a nice RV park just off I-90 between Columbus and Big Timber, Montana. The staff is super friendly and they work very hard to maintain the facilities. Each spot has a strip of very green grass, which speak volumes about their dedication to the facility. Green grass in Montana is hard to maintain, especially in a summer when temperatures are regularly in the 90s and 100s. The laundry facilities are clean and open 24/7. Restrooms and showers are clean. No complaints except their Internet and WiFi service wasn't very good...a shame because Verizon telephone service is also very, very weak. There was a period when the service was out for more than a week, but I'm told the owners are working to remedy that and by time you read this they may very well have upgraded their entire system. The park is located between the Interstate highway and railroad tracks. If you are bothered by sounds at night, this might not be the place for you. Then again, you would be hard pressed to find any RV park along this stretch of I-90 corridor where you don't have train noises at night. Luckily for me those sounds don't bother me when I sleep. Overall it is a nice park and the customer service is exceptional. I would highly recommend it to others. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Convenience store in town is not well stocked. You must get supplies and groceries in nearby Columbus or Big Timber, Montana. If you are planning a trip through Montana during Labor Day weekend, this place is a must stop. The Annual Great Montana Sheep Drive in this tiny town is quite a sight. For recreation the Yellowstone River is nearby with plenty of river access points.

Easy on and off the adjacent freeway. The park is right next to the highway, but road noise surprisingly was not too bad. A very nice lady met us when we arrived with a reservation and quickly checked us in and directed us to our site. Our pull-through site had a pronounced front to back slope, but nothing the levelers couldn't compensate for. Water, electric and sewer all located conveniently and worked well. Verizon a little slow but usable. We would likely stay again. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Very nice, quiet, clean park. Host Owners are very nice, seemed genuinely happy to have you there. They were very kind in accommodating a special need we had. They are visible and active in the park. Appear to be some seasonal RV's but all sites were clean and neat. Electric was steady at 122V, water good at 50PSI. All sites are pull thru and full hookup. Wifi worked very well for checking news, email, light surfing. Washers and dryers are newer, clean and worked very well. We didn't use restrooms or showers but poked a head in, they certainly appeared very clean. Sites are spaced well enough, you can sit outside, put an awning out and not feel you are touching your neighbors RV. Leash rule is enforced and there was no dog waste anywhere we saw. Sites are long, pull thru, gravel, level, with nice grass between them. Small picnic table at each site. Park does seem to fill up most nights, would suggest reservations. The town is very small but has some interesting old buildings and wooden sidewalks. We found it charming. Certainly location is fine for a day or more if you're looking for some down time with peace and quiet. There is a train, but its several blocks away, you don't notice it. Same with freeway noise, can't hear it in your unit and its not bothersome outside. We had only a weak Verizon phone signal, but it worked on our booster. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy in, easy out off I-90 at Reed Point, MT. Tiny town with old buildings, a tavern with some food within walking distance of park. New owners for the past year and they are very pleasant and helpful. I only hooked up water/electric and both worked fine. They offer cable TV and wireless internet. My gps showed (2) Old West RV parks with different routes. The most direct route goes under an overpass that I fit under without problem, but if you're really tall, call them to ask. Great overnight spot and I'd stay there again. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate is the Passport rate. Real easy on/off I-90. Nice level gravel sites and interior roads. Very close to I-90 but noise was not a problem. Rate includes Wi-Fi,cable, and 50 amp. We did not use the cable, used our satellite dish. I wanted to wash the bugs off the front of the rig and asked if I could rinse with my hose. Was told if I used the hose I must pay the $10 charge to wash your rig. I could and did wash off the bugs using the bucket method. My Verizon smart phone said "no service" but our regular cell showed one bar and worked. This park works nice for an overnight stop. The population of Reed Point is about 100 and the closest grocery store is 17 miles. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is good for an overnight on Passport America ($20). Can't see paying full price. Just a wide spot on the road next to the interstate and near the train tracks, but was quiet enough inside the coach at night. Laundry room was in good shape, with brand new washers. Just 2 showers but clean. Cable was 24 channels, no ESPN nor CNN. Would stop again just for the price deal, and convenience between Billings and Livingston. Very pleasant stay. Close to I-90 and a very quaint little town of Reed Point, MT. The park seemed to have mostly long term campers, but all looked neat and well maintained. The bathrooms, showers and laundry were exceptionally clean. We had full hookups to include cable and Internet. Both worked very well. The local saloon/grill is in walking distance and has a lot of character. Recommend if nothing more than to take a couple of pics and drink a coke at the saloon. This is not a destination campground however if you know the area, I'm sure their are some hiking and sightseeing to pursue. We would stay again! Passport America discount applied. Excellent value. We stayed here on weeknight in mid-July at the PPA rate. I changed the number of sites to 14 because that is what is listed on their handout map of the park. 9 sites are pull-through and 5 are back-in. All sites are FHU with 25 channel cable TV. Our site was level and most sites seem to satellite friendly. We received the Wi-Fi network in our RV. It appears that about half the sites are taken by seasonal or extended stay customers. So, you may want to call ahead during the travel season to make sure that they have a site available. There is a laundry with modern machines and adequate bathrooms. There are no other amenities in the park. The town, about which others have waxed poetic, has a main street immediately north of the RV park that has only 2 of about a dozen non-residential buildings with businesses currently occupying them. One is a tiny 2 pump gas station and the other is a saloon and cafe. The Yellowstone River is maybe a mile north via a gravel road. There is no easy access to the river but there is a bridge across the river. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Passport America rate. This park was a nice surprise. The park is located close to I-90 but the noise is no concern. Our site is long, level and ample space between sites for our 40 ft with 4 slides. Grass is nicely mowed and watered. You can easily walk back in time to an Old Western town right behind the park. Some of the buildings are still in use. The Yellowstone River is very close if you want to spent some time there. We even crossed the river and toured on some back gravel roads to see some of the "real Montana". Very pretty land. We stayed here to tour the Beartooth Highway that is a long day for the whole loop, but what views!! We would stay here again. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate is PA rate plus tax. Sites are long and fairly level. Nice grass between gravel sites, but the automatic sprinklers in the middle of the night watered our coach and car about as much as they did the grass. Pleasant place to spend the night, but you will hear occasional I-90 and train noises. Good utilities. Wifi worked. We have stayed here before and would stay again. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.

This was the closest we ever camped near an Interstate, but what a nice place to be for one night. You can hear the Interstate, but at night just a little. Very friendly owners, big pull thrus, free Wi-Fi, free good cable. Gravel, level sites with nice grass in between. The little town is a real wild, western sleepy town. You must see it, great to walk through after a long day on the road. They have PPA and when passing by we will sure come back. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Price quoted includes taxes. We've stayed here before; the new owners have cleaned it up, making it easier to access the pull-throughs. Very nice couple, who were quite understanding when we had to drive over part of their grass because of cars parked in front of our unit. There's not much to Reed Point, but it does have the Yellowstone River on the north side of town for the husband to throw a fly or two in, and dogs to get wet. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Near freeway, but did not notice any excess noise. Nice, level pull-thru, good water pressure and voltages. Wi-Fi and cable very good, although limited number of cable channels available. Laundry clean and reasonably priced. Owners are planning expansion and store for future. Will make it a nice one location for travelers, since Reed Point doesn't have any services. The town of Reed Point looks like it's falling apart, but this RV park is a nice stopover on your way across Montana. The owners have tried to make it look nice. There is lots of grass between the sites. There are some trees for shade. There is some spacing between sites. Site 1 is the best. It's got the most "acreage" as it's on a corner. Site 1 is a pull through, but the down side is that you have to go out of the park, swing wide, and then hopefully make the turn to "pull through." Restrooms, laundry, and showers were clean. Laundry is cheap! $1.25 to wash, and 25 cents for ten minutes to dry. At these prices, if you have only a few items to wash, throw some clean clothes on the ground just to get enough to justify a load! This park is popular with Passport America members. This park also takes Good Sam, and guess what, they give you a THIRTY PERCENT discount on Good Sam. Makes me think that the "base" price of $37 is a bit high and I doubt anyone pays "base" price.... Verizon Cell Phone and Home Phone Connect did not work at all here. (Didn't even bother trying the Verizon JetPack.) But, the park has cable and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi worked very well. Cable had a good selection of 25 channels, no JUNK channels. However, cable reception was kind of static-y, but look where you are, out in the middle of nowhere. It was tolerable. There is a beautiful post office across the street. It looks unusual in this "falling apart" town. Once again, a good stopover. We camped at Old West RV Park in a Motorhome.
