Sites are pretty large, a little hard to back into some due to large rocks. Lots of trees for shade, bathrooms & showers were clean. There were pit toilets scattered throughout also and it was the cleanest pit toilet I have ever been in! NO smell or flies. Absolutely spotless! I was impressed. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Pretty, quiet campground. I would definitely return. We camped at Placid Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Wooded campground on rolling terrain by a lake, very popular with boaters (not so much for fishing - lots of noisy, fast boats!) Many sites close together, little privacy, but shade from the pine woods; one loop has electric sites (20/30/50 amp) - not many can fit rigs larger than 25'. This park is 3 miles off the main road, on a packed-dirt road (may be slippery in wet weather); road noise is minimal, especially at night. It's a busy place & seems popular with Missoula-area residents on weekends. There is a camp host in residence, and bathhouse facilities seemed pretty clean despite heavy use. The pit toilet we used was very clean & not smelly. Beautiful location. We camped at Placid Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Boating is the big draw here, from kayaking to water skiing - beautiful lake ! Pine woods provide nice shade for most sites; some are more open, but set off from neighbors by natural shrubbery. Grocery store, steakhouse, ice cream shop & other small stores available in town of Seeley Lake (4 miles north).

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice state park campground on Placid Lake, about 3 miles south of the town of Seeley Lake. There are 40 sites; 15 have have electrical service. It is fairly tight so I wouldn't recommend it for a rig over 35 feet total length. Water is available at a central location. The park is paved, but the three mile road into the park is gravel. There is a boat ramp/dock available. Boat trailer parking is available. There is a new modern restroom and shower facility. There is a charge for showers. Firewood and ice is available from the camp host. The rate is $28 per night for non residents, $20 for Montana residents. Reservations can be made at the Montana State Park web site. There is Verizon 4G phone and data coverage in the Park. We camped at Placid Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
