I'd consider this a typical KOA. Spots were just okay in that ours was close to our neighbors and it was essentially on dirt. The facilities themselves were fantastic though. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This park has the most beautiful views. We were overlooking the mountains. It is near town (what there is of a town), and fairly close to all sightseeing. Space was easy to level, and easy in and out. Be sure to bring leveling blocks for sites, which have amazing views, but are uneven. All that said, the park in that area is in need of some work. Railroad ties line the sight. Some of them were in the ground, some out and easy to trip over. The area had no grass, just some sort of low-growing weed. It was relatively quiet most of the time. The laundry is large and clean, but there is nowhere to park near the door, so you have to carry your laundry around to the back of the building. They provide breakfast at a reasonable price, pizza delivery, which was good, and a BBQ each night. We would stay there again. High winds most days. Gravel roads are very bumpy. Kids working there gave incorrect directions and information. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Pizza, which is delivered, is good. Park Restaurant just at the end of town is excellent. Pie is delicious. Store next to the restaurant doesn't have much. Didn't try the main store downtown. Waterton Lakes is a nice trip - don't forget your passports. Many Glacier and Two Medicine Lake are really pretty. Trip to Logan Pass is a must see.

I had requested a pull-through site and received confirmation that that is what we would have. When we arrived they assigned us to a back-in site. When I produced the confirmation they changed it to a pull-through after about 20 minutes of pounding on the keyboard. The site was extremely unlevel. The wi-fi was difficult to get on and slow when you did. The CG is very close to the National Park entrance. One section of this CG seems to be under a major construction project. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

The office staff were very friendly. I had several special needs and they did their best to accommodate us. I appreciated that. Though it was too cool for our tastes to try to use the pool, it did look nice and clean and we could tell that the hardy souls braving water and cool air temps were enjoying it. The sites were adequate. Our pull through barely had enough room for our motorhome plus our tow vehicle. And the site was narrow - I had to move some timbers to be able to turn into the site as we were entering. The down side was that the wifi was pretty poor. It was usable but just barely. The plus side is that this is a very convenient location to Glacier National Park - both entrances. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

By all means, do go to Glacier National Park. However, bring your supplies with you. St. Mary MT does have a grocery store, but it is rather minimally supplied. The campground is almost as well equipped. The Canadian side of Glacier is easy to get to, but in our opinion, it is no more beautiful than the American side. It's worth a trip if you have the time, but don't feel cheated if you don't have time (or a passport).

So close to Glacier!! Very clean, great people and mix of campers. We have a 40ft Tiffin and the only drawback was that our pull through site was designed for a 5th Wheel, so our sewer was a bit far back. Other that that it was awesome!! The store was awesome with food, equipment and souvenirs!! We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Spent four nights here in July. Location is great, beautiful views of mountains, close to Glacier NP. Not many trees in RV section, but lots in the tent camping area. Sites are barely level, but ok. Internet was worthless at the RV, had to go to office to get a signal. No TV whatsoever. It was great that the Red Bus tour stopped right in the park to pick us up. And, ice cream was excellent. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The best part about this campground is how close it is to the St Mary entrance of Glacier NP. There is a nice pool, hot tub, mini-golf, and horseshoe area at the back, along with a pavilion where breakfast and dinner are served for reasonable prices. Please note that this campground is not on St Mary Lake. There are, however, beautiful mountain views.

The desk staff was disappointing: young, not overly friendly (nor unfriendly), and had a tough time answering even basic questions ("How to get to the entrance of Glacier NP?"). However, the (equally young) staff at the pavilion, camp store, laundry, etc. were friendly and competent.

The bathrooms, showers, and laundry were always clean despite a very full campground. Laundry was $2.50 to wash and $0.25 for 4 mins to dry. The campground is very large and was full. The wifi only worked close to the office and only very early/late in the day. Wifi was crucial since we had no cell service (AT&T) here or anywhere in Glacier NP. Satellite worked well.

We liked this location due to its proximity to the St Mary entrance of Glacier and Going to the Sun Road as well as Many Glacier, Two Medicine, East Glacier, and---don't forget---Waterton Lakes NP in Canada! We stayed 5 nights in site B14. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Stock up on supplies before arriving. St Mary has a gas station and a small supermarket with limited selection. It's the only place for diesel on this side. Don't miss the Many Glacier area or Waterton Lakes NP in Canada (but you'll need a passport). We highly recommend the Going to the Sun pizza at the KOA! The breakfast was tasty also.

The store and employees are all very friendly. The store had all the supplies you could ever need!

The campsites had grass knee high. The grassed areas definitely needed attention. Too many employees inside and not enough outside apparently to keep up the grounds.

The sites were not very level. We finally managed to get our rig level. Another camper complained at the office and they brought a bobcat out and leveled it better for him.

Sites are definitely overpriced for what you get. We had no tv whatsoever. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 3 nights and you certainly can't complain about the view. Basically right at the entrance to Glacier NP. Staff was friendly, but several seemed to be in training so check-in was somewhat slow. We were located in the first row of sites below the office and found it annoying to have other campers and some of the younger staff feel it was OK to walk through our site to the office even with us sitting at the table. When I said something to one of the staff walking through they just shrugged and kept going. I will say that there are no direct paths from the lower rows to the office except the roads at the end. The camp store is pretty well stocked and they serve great ice cream. There is only a very small "market" in town which really has only pre-packaged items available, so come prepared.

Roadways were narrow and spaces were tight, and ours was nowhere close to level. With the trailer positioned in the only reasonable spot, the fire ring was a trip hazard in front of the door. Fortunately the rig in front of us moved before us so we were able to get out. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

After camping in Glacier Park for several days, pulled in here to relax and enjoy the full amenities. Was given a back-in site on the hill above the office complex; newly constructed area with no trees but a short walk to laundry facilities, store, etc. Great laundry facilities. Did not use showers. A lot of money for what you get. But, it is close to the park entrance and one of the few places to stay in the area. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This KOA is pretty typical these days, overpriced & not very well taken care of. The sites are pretty close but doable, & not very level. the interior roads were mud & potholes. A few loads of gravel would improve conditions a lot. The weeds in our space were ankle high. We used to look to KOAs first, but now rarely even consider them. They're are obviously exceptions, but we generally look to alternatives. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Only a handful of sites level enough for a 43ft RV, sewer connections not EPA or MT EPA compliant (I'm reporting this), children managing the office. Never again, and we're telling everyone we know. If you use a cabin or have a SHORT trailer, probably OK if you can stand the sewer smell. We tried 3 sites to find one where less than 3 axles came off the ground or where our slides could come out. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a week. Staff was super helpful and friendly. They provide pet service and walked our dogs for us so we didn't have to worry while hiking all day. The sites had plenty of room. They water the sites so you actually have grass. The Wifi was dependant upon site location. There is no cable nor antenna reception. They have a well stocked store, pizza delivered to your site that was good. Pancake breakfast, barbecue. Pool. Hot tub. Access to lake. Close to park entrance. We would definitely stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you stock up on groceries. The local store only has basics. The nearest larger grocery store is an hour away. Route 89 from browning at this writing was ripped up for about 5 miles. Dirt only. There was no detour sign. 465 is a better RV option. Easier drive.
