We stayed 5 nights at this campground outside Glacier National Park in October, 2014. Our site was reasonably level only requiring 1 set of blocks under our front wheels. (Many other rigs were using blocks as well.) There is a minimal number of trees in the park, which made satellite reception easy. Weather was cool, so shade was not really needed. It does tend to be windy at times, so we were only able to extend our awning once or twice, and would never leave the campground with the awning extended. The location is very convenient to the Park entrance, about 1 miles from the St. Mary's Visitors Center. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Only two real complaints about the resort. (1) Inadequate Wi-Fi. I could not get my laptop to connect while sitting on the office porch. My IPad would connect on the porch, but not at our campsite which was closer to the office than most sites. (2) Additional bathrooms/showers are needed, and we often had to wait for a shower and even a sink in the office bathhouse during busy morning hours. There was a very nice bathhouse closer to our site with clean, spacious, and well-appointed private bathrooms/showers. However, this bathhouse was near the rental cabins and was heavily used. One of the three baths had non-working lock, and we felt very uncomfortable using it for showering. We reported this repair to the office, but it remained unrepaired throughout our stay. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.
We enjoy hiking and found East Glacier (rather than West Glacier) to be more convenient for many of the hikes and side trips we wanted to do. Our next stay in East Glacier will be inside in the National Park even though there will be no hookups. Much more economical with beautiful locations.

Very nice CG. Great view of mountains. VERY friendly & helpful staff. They helped with reservations on Red Bus tour of Glacier. Strong WiFi. We had low cost Electric only site and even had one nite free due to KOA web site promotion. Better than average store selection of food, supplies and souvenirs. Has a Hot Tub near the pool. Also Ice Cream & coffee bar in store and could order pizza, made on grounds, for delivery to out site . Would definitely stay here if ever in area. This is our first 10 rating. The staff works really hard to help you any way they can, but they're pretty busy in the front office. People waiting in line, staff on the phone, rude customers who just walk in front of everyone, not a pleasant scene. I just purely detest crowded front desks - it brings out the worst in people. But the staff is always pleasant, bless them. Especially that chirpy lady with short wavey-ish sandy blonde hair. Anyhow, nice park, no trees much in the RV areas. We were in Site F7 and there are some trees in those sites - we liked that. However, down in the tent areas, there were PLENTY of shaded sites in very wooded locations. Each site also had a mulched level pad for the tent too. Lovely. The RV area was just open meadow, and in my opinion, none of them had really great views of the mountains. Not horrible, just not great. When we arrived, the dumpsters were full to max. We stayed 5 days, and the dumpster was never emptied. People started leaving bags of garbage outside the dumpster. And this, bear country? Evidently they don't range down this far. Overall, pleasant. I'd stay again, but I'd also look around and see if there are other 50 amp camps around. It's just SO expensive. Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $57.00
Stayed six nights. Rate is with KOA 10% discount and $50 KOA rewards. Though the rate is high, it is comparable with other campgrounds in the area. The view of Glacier National Park from the KOA is outstanding. It is very convenient to the St Mary Visitor center, a short drive to the Many Glacier entrance, and a 30 mile scenic drive to the Two Medicine entrance. We enjoyed our stay on the east side of Glacier National Park and the KOA was a good base camp for our visit. We would stay here again. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

Good Points: Wide Sites with grass - nice! Bar-b-que every night and breakfast every morning which we enjoyed. Good views. Friendly & intermitantly helpful staff. Bad points: Price. No TV - no antenna TV and no cable. Wi-Fi Very slow during 4 day stay. Most sewer hookups are at very back of site. We had a 12-15' mostly uphill run for our sewer hookup. We had a significant drop-off at rear of our pull-through, resulting in our metal framed rockguard getting crushed when we leveled the coach. I called the office to get a more level site, but they basically said that it would be too complicated to move me. I had to pull very far forward in the site making no good place to park the car without it sticking out into the road. In general, it is a very nice campground. However, for the price (highest price since we left Florida), I expect some sort of TV, moderately fast Wi-Fi, better located sewer hookups, sites that are level enough to not crush my rock guard, and not running the sewer uphill for 12-15'. Had it not been for these issues, I would have given them a 9 or 10. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

What a beautiful, well appointed KOA! Large pool and 22 person hot tub. Nice playground, lovely sites for tents, access to a small lake for canoeing or swimming. Many cabins to rent. Barbeque each night and pizza available to order and even would be delivered to your site. Really nice store and coffee/ice cream shop. Quite handy to east entrance to Glacier National Park. Gorgeous view, our only problem was rain and clouds blocking the beautiful mountains until the day we left. A lovely campground we would definitely stay there again and recommend it highly. Easy in/out access to the park. Check in was easy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Roads didn't have gravel which is a ding as it rained most of the week and we ended up with a muddy mess. Same goes for the sites. Hardly any trees so line of sight for satellite dish was there. Utility hookups were convenient. St. Mary is a remote area so the KOA had both a pizza place and a breakfast/supper place that served BBQ in the evening. Well stocked for groceries and gifts as well. We would stay here again for the ease of access to Glacier National Park which is out your back window. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Nice park, nice hot tub and swimming pool. Very nice store with food and supplies. Wi-Fi was very weak and no cable and was out of ice. AT&T does not work in the area. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

We enjoy the park for the location, but the sites were small, gravel and not very level. WiFi was non existent most of the time and our ATT phones were useless. Very family friendly with nice pool etc. Place was pricey like: 1/2 gallon milk $6.00, Bear spray $56.00. The park did have a lot of features like fresh coffee, sandwiches etc. In defense of their prices they have to make the money from July-October at the latest. $67.00 per night is a bunch , but I would stay there again. Camped here for 4 nights while touring Glacier and Waterton Parks. Quick & pleasant check-in. Escorted to a back-in site in a newer section of the park. New hook-ups (no cable TV) functioned perfectly. New grass between the sites. Too windy to use the new fire ring. Only complaint was that the site had ruts and was very out of level, both side to side and end to end. The park management sent an employee with pieces of lumber so we could keep the front wheels on the ground when leveling. The grounds and buildings very clean and well kept. Price is high but you pay for the location. Would stay here again. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

After spending several nights at a campground on the west side of the park, we chose to spend several more nights on the east side, and picked this campground because of the view. And view it has - the mountains in Glacier NP are spectacular, and some of the prettiest are easily seen from virtually every part of this campground. We had requested a back-in view site, but got one of the worst back-ins: narrow (our neighbors' sewer hookup was only about 3 feet from our back door), tight, and next to the small road the campground sits on. (These are the low-number B sites.) We did not feel comfortable sitting out on our picnic table due to the proximity of not only our side-to-side neighbors, but also a group of tenting young adults, who were assigned a large grassy area right behind our site. They were quiet enough, but we didn't want to be on top of them, so we stayed inside, and peeked at the view through our windows. Not ideal. Other back-ins are larger, parked on an angle, and would be more desirable, in my opinion. (C-row, for example, fits this description.) The campground is almost entirely an open field on a slope, terraced to some extent (we needed a bit of leveling; others needed more.) A few sites have shade - one pull-through does and a lot of the tent sites are located in a pretty aspen grove. (They can be buggy there, however.) This campground offers a store, ice cream shop, several satellite bathhouses (I heard one camper complain about low water pressure there, and our own site's water pressure was lower than usual, but not bad), all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with generous servings every day, and is a pickup spot for some of the Red Bus tours - a bonus! Off the main road so the noise level is low at night, and - did I mention the view?! Bathrooms were heavily used but kept very clean; staff were numerous and friendly. Being only a couple miles to the park entrance, this campground is a good base camp for the east side of Glacier. Rate mentioned is without discounts & before taxes. We stayed a week here to visit Glacier National Park. They have lots of activities. They serve breakfast, dinner, and have a pizzeria. The pool is very nice and they have a hot tub. Go to the pool/hot tub during the day when everyone is gone. The kids take over late in the afternoon and evening. You can catch the Red Bus from the KOA to take a tour. Our site was F6 and it seemed to be the site that everyone cut through to get to the office. The rows are long without any way to get through without cutting through someone's site. Not acceptable. We had a fabulous view of the mountains--great sunsets. Bathrooms are clean, but there aren't enough of them. Staff is friendly and helpful. KOA is close to the park entrance, lodge, and visitor's center...about 5 minutes away. Fill up your gas tank before you get there. Gas is expensive. St. Mary is close to Waterton Lakes Nat'l Park in Canada, Many Glacier area of the park and lots of wildlife. We rode horses and took the boat tour of two lakes w/a short hike to Grinnell Lake out of the Many Glacier area. Great location to visit Glacier! Site was wide but somewhat unlevel, quiet, clean bathhouse, WiFi was excellent, they offer breakfast and dinner and a store on site, bathhouses have 3 individual bathrooms with 2 of them containing showers.Would have been a 10 except for the slightly off level site and the price. We would stay here again. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Tent Trailer.Undo

This place is amazing except many of the sites are not level. When we asked to be relocated, they were very accommodating. Please call for accurate directions because using a GPS to get there may put you on roads you would rather not be on. Pool looked very inviting and views were amazing.
