Beautiful views of the mountains. Long level gravel sites. Great utilities. Would give it a ten but no cable or over air tv stations. Also we were supposed to get a bricked patio site that was advertised. They did put us in a patio site but it was grass and needed some attention. We only saw one bricked patio. Very close to Glacier National Park entrance. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure you bring everything you need for your stay. There is only a small grocery store that is really more like a convenience store with convenience store prices.

Like most KOA campgrounds, this one is over priced, but since it is the only decent full-service campground in the area, they get their price. The WIFI was pretty much useless. I was able to receive emails, but I would have to try multiple times to get an email to send and forget about looking up something on the web. They had a strong WIFI signal but lousy throughput. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. They have a little ice cream and coffee bar where they will make sandwiches for you to take with you for lunch. They also have a barbecue available each night during the Summer. Good size swimming pool and spa, both out doors of course. The interior roads are narrow, but passable. I was in M1, a back-in site that was angled appropriately for backing in to it, but we had to go out the same direction we came in, so it took some maneuvering to get turned around. There was a low rock protecting something next to the road that I hit with my front wheel and made a large gouge in it and the fender rode up on it and scratched the bottom. Not sure why it was there, just very annoying to scratch a 22.5" motorhome wheel. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are coming in from Browning, MT do not take highway 89. It is a narrow windy road and is difficult with a motorhome or towing a trailer. Instead take highway 464, which is somewhat longer, but it is a wider, straighter road that comes in North of St. Mary so you have to backtrack a little. The receipt you get from the KOA does mention this, but it is down toward the bottom of the receipt where few people will read it.

I'd consider this a typical KOA. Spots were just okay in that ours was close to our neighbors and it was essentially on dirt. The facilities themselves were fantastic though. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

This park has the most beautiful views. We were overlooking the mountains. It is near town (what there is of a town), and fairly close to all sightseeing. Space was easy to level, and easy in and out. Be sure to bring leveling blocks for sites, which have amazing views, but are uneven. All that said, the park in that area is in need of some work. Railroad ties line the sight. Some of them were in the ground, some out and easy to trip over. The area had no grass, just some sort of low-growing weed. It was relatively quiet most of the time. The laundry is large and clean, but there is nowhere to park near the door, so you have to carry your laundry around to the back of the building. They provide breakfast at a reasonable price, pizza delivery, which was good, and a BBQ each night. We would stay there again. High winds most days. Gravel roads are very bumpy. Kids working there gave incorrect directions and information. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Pizza, which is delivered, is good. Park Restaurant just at the end of town is excellent. Pie is delicious. Store next to the restaurant doesn't have much. Didn't try the main store downtown. Waterton Lakes is a nice trip - don't forget your passports. Many Glacier and Two Medicine Lake are really pretty. Trip to Logan Pass is a must see.

This is a very nice campground. We had a gravel pull thru that was about 60' long with space beside for parking a car and about 20' between RVs. As another reviewer said, some pull thrus are lined with timbers and that made it a little tight to get in/out without running over the timbers. Due to the timbers and site slope, we had about a 2 foot drop from our lowest 5th wheel step to the ground. We used a stepstool and could get in and out with some effort. Our site sloped quite a bit side to side so my right side tires were well off the ground when level on our hydraulic cylinders. Many sites were big rig friendly. Utilities worked fine. We had two brief power outages one day but it was windy and may have contributed. The only cell phone coverage is Verizon and it worked well on both phone & data. Park wifi barely worked. The swimming pool must have been heated as the water wasn't cold despite cool night temps. I picked up two of three Dish satellites with the mountains blocking 129 degrees. As a destination KOA, they had all the amenities for family fun. Of course, their rate is high for the same reason. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent customer service. We decreased our reservations by 2 days and while it was very complicated with KOA points used, etc., they were very gracious and patient making sure I got everything refunded. Laundry was clean and had a nice lounge. The store has a nice gift store as well as coffee, snacks, wine, and a few groceries. It is very convenient to the Park
entrances. Our site was in the upper, back in section and was quite spacious for a busy KOA. I would not hesitate to stay here in the future and would recommend it to my friends. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 nights so we could visit the Many Glacier area. This park is a typical KOA with sites close together and no privacy between neighbors. The pool and hot tub were very nice and we really appreciated that after a long hike at Glacier. Verizon coverage was good here, and they also have Wifi but we didn't use it.

I appreciated that they don't charge extra for kids like so many KOA parks do. We usually avoid KOAs because of the "kid tax", but thankfully this one does not charge extra for kids. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is in an excellent area for hiking on the east side of Glacier NP. The surrounding views are excellent. There are some areas of the park that have collected "stuff" that is a bit of an eyesore. The park's friendly staff and amenities far outweigh that. We would return. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Busy campground conveniently located to the Many Glaciers, St. Mary, and Two Medicine sections of Glacier National Park. Called campground to make reservations, but they were too busy and ended up making them online instead. I felt that the campground was just so busy that they couldn't be bothered to help. We stayed at two different sites. The first was supposed to have a concrete pad, but was so broken up that they had to put some wooden boards over the potholes. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Our site was near the office in Section F. Unfortunately, this was the main drag for the pizza delivery guy and fire wood salesman. In the evening the ATVs loaded with pizza or firewood whizzed by our campsite making a lot of noise and stirring up dust. Thank goodness we did get some rain to help keep the dust down. The sites were close together and didn't offer much shade. We had three small aspens between us and the next RV on one side and nothing on the other. Roads in and out of the park were pretty rough. The WiFi was very seldom accessible. At times you could connect with the wife but could not get to the internet. AT&T cell and data were nonexistent and there is no local TV to acquire on the antenna and no cable. Views of the surrounding mountains were nice, but the campground was anything but pretty. Hooks ups were fine. Because of the location to Going to the Sun Road we would camp here again, but definitely not in Section F an nowhere near the office to avoid the ATV delivery guys. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I had requested a pull-through site and received confirmation that that is what we would have. When we arrived they assigned us to a back-in site. When I produced the confirmation they changed it to a pull-through after about 20 minutes of pounding on the keyboard. The site was extremely unlevel. The wi-fi was difficult to get on and slow when you did. The CG is very close to the National Park entrance. One section of this CG seems to be under a major construction project. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

The office staff were very friendly. I had several special needs and they did their best to accommodate us. I appreciated that. Though it was too cool for our tastes to try to use the pool, it did look nice and clean and we could tell that the hardy souls braving water and cool air temps were enjoying it. The sites were adequate. Our pull through barely had enough room for our motorhome plus our tow vehicle. And the site was narrow - I had to move some timbers to be able to turn into the site as we were entering. The down side was that the wifi was pretty poor. It was usable but just barely. The plus side is that this is a very convenient location to Glacier National Park - both entrances. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

By all means, do go to Glacier National Park. However, bring your supplies with you. St. Mary MT does have a grocery store, but it is rather minimally supplied. The campground is almost as well equipped. The Canadian side of Glacier is easy to get to, but in our opinion, it is no more beautiful than the American side. It's worth a trip if you have the time, but don't feel cheated if you don't have time (or a passport).

So close to Glacier!! Very clean, great people and mix of campers. We have a 40ft Tiffin and the only drawback was that our pull through site was designed for a 5th Wheel, so our sewer was a bit far back. Other that that it was awesome!! The store was awesome with food, equipment and souvenirs!! We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Spent four nights here in July. Location is great, beautiful views of mountains, close to Glacier NP. Not many trees in RV section, but lots in the tent camping area. Sites are barely level, but ok. Internet was worthless at the RV, had to go to office to get a signal. No TV whatsoever. It was great that the Red Bus tour stopped right in the park to pick us up. And, ice cream was excellent. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

The best part about this campground is how close it is to the St Mary entrance of Glacier NP. There is a nice pool, hot tub, mini-golf, and horseshoe area at the back, along with a pavilion where breakfast and dinner are served for reasonable prices. Please note that this campground is not on St Mary Lake. There are, however, beautiful mountain views.

The desk staff was disappointing: young, not overly friendly (nor unfriendly), and had a tough time answering even basic questions ("How to get to the entrance of Glacier NP?"). However, the (equally young) staff at the pavilion, camp store, laundry, etc. were friendly and competent.

The bathrooms, showers, and laundry were always clean despite a very full campground. Laundry was $2.50 to wash and $0.25 for 4 mins to dry. The campground is very large and was full. The wifi only worked close to the office and only very early/late in the day. Wifi was crucial since we had no cell service (AT&T) here or anywhere in Glacier NP. Satellite worked well.

We liked this location due to its proximity to the St Mary entrance of Glacier and Going to the Sun Road as well as Many Glacier, Two Medicine, East Glacier, and---don't forget---Waterton Lakes NP in Canada! We stayed 5 nights in site B14. We camped at St. Mary / East Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Stock up on supplies before arriving. St Mary has a gas station and a small supermarket with limited selection. It's the only place for diesel on this side. Don't miss the Many Glacier area or Waterton Lakes NP in Canada (but you'll need a passport). We highly recommend the Going to the Sun pizza at the KOA! The breakfast was tasty also.
