Stayed for one week. Dirt/gravel roads and site, level space, utilities worked well, friendly staff. Shaded by trees and mountains. This is a beautiful area, everything I expected when thinking about Montana. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park located near the Clark Fork River. The sites are so spacious that we couldn't see another rig. The campground hosts were great. We loved staying here and would definitely return. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Spacious sites in the upper section, which we really liked. Good hookups, but with well water. Lots of grass, nice area to walk dogs and trails down to the river. Enjoyed our one night stay and met several people who were there for longer stays. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park with spacious sites. We were in the upper loop and the road was paved with gravel sites. The lower loop had gravel roads. There were lots of trees, though we were able to get satellite, with beautiful grassy areas between sites. The hosts were extremely nice and escorted us to our site. We couldn't get the wifi, but our ATT signal was good. The only negative was the train noise. Others have said that they didn't hear it at night, but my husband watched the clock one night and a train went by about every hour and a half throughout the night. We could actually see the train from our site and there is a crossing close by so we were treated to the whistle repeatedly. Sometimes, the train would even cause our unit to shake as it went by. We stayed there for 3 nights and were pretty tired when we left. It might be better in the lower loop because it's farther from the tracks and the hill may block some of the noise. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is with a weekly discount (pay for 6, 7th night is free). Terraced, glad to be shown to the space...would have been lost otherwise. Nice trail to the Clark Fork River that borders the RV park. Very active train track across the road on the back side of the park. My space was on the 'upper' level and the train whistle is loud - got used to it.

Problem with breaker (30 amp) as it kept tripping. The day I left they checked it and....ALL the breakers were broken off in that pedestal. Be sure to use some sort of EMS to protect your rig. The sewer connection in this particular space is up hill. Had to get very creative to be able to use it. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The park layout has 2 sections. Lower is near the office with a view of the river. Upper is arranged in more of a circle, less view and closer to the railroad tracks. It's a bit of a walk between the two. Showers are coin operated ($1 for 10 minutes). We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park just north of Thompson Falls. Sites are very spacious, wonderful nature trail down to the Clark Fork River. 2 areas, we were in the upper campground. Wifi seems to work well, but has a limited range from the bathhouse. There is a very active railroad across the street with a crossing nearby, so train horns are frequent, though not so much at night. Lower campground looked better to me. Tips for other Campers:

The drive down Prospect Creek Road ( hwy 471) to Thompson Pass and Murray Idaho is beautiful! Hwy 200 also quite lovely, and Blue Slide Road goes all the way to Trout Creek, good road, and great views of the Clark Fork below.

Oddly constructed, with two distinct sections, for those in the 'upper park', you'll have to go thru the park, pull out onto a highway, and immediately reenter the park. Gravel roads and sites. Very nice restroom, shower, laundry building. WIDE OPEN spaces, so no problem getting in and your neighbors are a long way away. Lots of large trees but we were lucky enough to find a gap in a maple and got satellite service. Wifi is unusable from your rig in the 'upper park', but our hot spot worked fine. Water pressure was good. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Not so much a "resort" in the strictest sense...no pool, children's play area, however that did not detract in any way from our stay. Very long sites, big rig friendly. We were escorted to the site. FHU. NOTE: the entrance can be a bit tricky and confusing, so be sure to follow the instructions on the website, especially with big rigs. A lot of birds, deer and wildlife travel freely in the park. A pond on site. Overall a lovely relaxing spot. Hosts escorted to site and were friendly. Wifi weak, but verizon worked very well. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

If I could rate this RV park higher than a 10 I would! It is a mature, older park but is very well cared for. The owners are wonderful older folks who really know how to treat people the right way. We were having a bit of a problem determining if I could receive Dish reception and these wonderful folks went out of their way to help us! Our stay here was a very pleasant experience and we will most certainly come here again. The cost at $30.00 is an exceptional value as well! We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We loved this location - but the trains were overwhelming. Our first night there, we had six or seven trains loudly rumble through, the second night there was one. We left. The spaces are very large with great separation, in amongst the trees. We had EWS and all worked fine. Not sure you could find a place in Thompson Falls without the trains. Very quiet wooded park like setting. Everything is well maintained and clean. Camp hosts were very nice and helpful. Deer stroll through frequently.

We were in the Upper loop and there is no Wi Fi there but Verizon is working great.

If trains annoy you this park may not seem quiet to you. They run throughout the day and into early evening. I didn't hear any at night. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Rate cited is based on monthly rate. Excellent power. Usefulness of Wi-Fi dependent on closeness to office but cellular service was OK. Beautiful, park-like wooded setting on lake/stream between mountains with deer wandering through. Friendly/helpful staff and owners. Nice family restaurant in town. Overall Rating:

We are staying here 4 nights. It is beautiful, very shady and lots of privacy. Hiking trails to river are well marked. Showers are pay. There is a laundry available. One downside is the train that travels close by 5+ times during the day and 2+ times at night. It is not enough to disturb your rest unless noises are a problem. My husband thinks it adds to the ambiance of the campground. Very restful. Town is close by for simple needs. There is one grocery store. Costco & Walmart are about an hour away. Would definitely return here for extended stay. We camped at Birdland Bay RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
