This is a nice campground very close to the west entrance (about 1 mile) of Glacier NP. Pros: Location. Wooded and shaded sites. Nice campground office with sitting area, TV, books and DVD's to use. Very helpful staff. Cons: Sites are not easy to get in and are not very level. There are hills you have to navigate to almost all the sites. Older campground with old electric grid. We use 30 amp and had low voltage issues while there, going as low as 104 volts. Our Progessive surge protector gave use numerous errors and I finally just unhooked it. We pull a 26 foot trailer and we were lucky enough to get a pull through site, E9. If we would have had a back-in it could have been tricky getting in. If we were to come back again I would insist on a pull through or I probably would not stay. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Glacier Grill and Pizza in nearby Coram had great pizza and local beer. Paved bike path along the main road that runs west to Glacier NP and then East for about 12 miles to Hungry Horse.

Overall Rating:

Large wooded campground with 175 sites. Very few pull throughs & backing in was a challenge. Sites are not level so bring blocks to level your unit. Two sites are very close together and share the connections but there is usually a large expanse located on the other sides. The sitting areas with fire ring and table are usually to the back. If you have accessibility problems please mention it when making your reservation. I had to use the handle on our trailer to pull myself up the hill to sit at our picnic table. I think there are only 4 showers for men and 4 showers for women to service 175 sites, many of which were tent campers. Needless to say; you may have to wait in line. The restrooms were adequate however dated. The dust in the exhaust fan above my shower was extreme. I'm talking years accumulations. The odor from the dump station was detectable at quite a distance. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

I recommend using park transportation through Glacier. Prkng is not available after 9:00AM. The rds require concentration & with no place to pull off the driver would not enjoy any of the views. I would stay here again but will ask more questions about more comfortable sites. The c.g. has unique cottages grouped around a fire pit, a large grill & tables in a gazebo which would be great for family reunions.

The campsite is in the woods & on a hill. It is very peaceful, although a train whistle can be heard, mostly during the day, but the first one is at 7 AM. We had to use our leveling blocks, and there are some tree roots in the site, but the ambiance was suitable to the Glacier experience. The restrooms were a bit small & are on the rustic side, but are adequate. The people working at the park, including at the cafe, were very friendly. As far as a private campground in a heavily visited area such as Glacier, I think you'd be very hard pressed to find anything better than this. The campsites were a little tight, but there were plenty of trees to try to block the neighbors. I get it, they are only open for a few months during the year, so they have to make a years worth of money in a few months. But lets face it, you don't come to a place like Glacier to hang out in the campground. There are a few spots that could handle a large trailer or motorhome, but it is mainly designed for probably about 25' and under due to having to backing in and some narrow roads. That being said, it worked great for me. The bathrooms and showers were clean and the office staff/owners were great. There is wifi available but it is near the office. They also have a decent selection of movies that you can borrow and take back to your camper to watch at the end of the night. Overall, it was a great experience and I would stay there again in a heartbeat. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Tent Trailer.

Nice campground nestled in the woods. Each campsite is somewhat close but he trees keep you secluded. This campground is about 1 mile away from the West Entrance to Glacier National Park. Sites appear to be all back-in and it's kinda tricky getting into your slot from the curved road, but not a major issue. Mosquitoes were the only reason I didn't give this campground a perfect score. It's probably due to the amount of rain that came down the week prior and the week we were there (late May, early June). They were everywhere!! We camped at Glacier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We camped here in a 27' Class B with toad. Disconnected the car before going to the site. Good thing! Our space was a pull-in, which made it easy. Neighbors had a 31' Class C, and really had to work at getting into their pull thru. Once in our space, lovely camping experience in the woods. Quiet, obviously no satellite connection or antennae. If you need entertainment, bring DVD's. :) Most appealing is its proximity to the West Glacier entrance. Awesome! We camped at Glacier Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you go to Glacier Park, suck it up, and get up super early and beat the crowds. It is so worth it. We left the park at 5:30 am and had the park to ourselves. At Logans Pass, big horn sheep put on a show for us too! Did the entire loop to St Marys and then back to West Glacier (not back thru the park). On Hwy 49 we saw wild horses, range cattle and deer. Note, this road is only 10 miles, but can be rough. We loved it!

Campground is heavily wooded, sites are somewhat near each other but the woods blocks views and provides lots of privacy. Nice clean bathrooms with clean showers. Also a laundry available, we didn't use it but it looked fine. There are cabins available to rent which looked popular. There was a nice inside lounge with TV, area outside of office with tables, benches, shade, etc. Wifi only worked by the office. There was a casual covered restaurant open 7:45 - 12:45 Wed through Sun. The food was good and coffee great. Very nice, quiet campground. Loved the setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place! About a mile from the Glacier Park entrance, so very handy for visiting the park. My favorite campground on a month-long trip. There's also a handy sewage dump station. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Glacier Distilling (makes whiskey) had a tasting room just a few miles west down highway 2, a fun place and pretty good whiskey. The town of Whitefish isn't too far, it's a cute touristy town with nice shops.

As others said, the sites are wooded, making them private and shady. Our site was near the office, making it a long way from the bath/shower building. Cell service on AT&T was irregular. WiFi in the office was very slow. Since we usually use the campground bathrooms and showers, the long uphill walk to the bathroom was inconvenient. Also, near the end of the season (and I imagine at the beginning), the nights were chilly. Since there is no heat in the bathrooms, it was cold getting out of the shower! Also, only one of the 2 showers in each building was able to be completely curtained off for privacy. Staff was very friendly, price was good and we would definitely stay here again and request a site closer to one of the two bathrooms. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We were at the top of the hill. Beautiful quiet shaded campground, all sites feel very private, although you are close to a neighbor on one side. We loved this RV campground. Location is ideal. Our site was WAAAAY up the hill (mountain) and was a bit tight to back into, BUT that was offset by one of the most perfect wooded locations we have ever had. It has the feeling of being camping in a national park/ national forest with wildlife, trees, felled trees close enough to find appropriate firewood, great atmosphere. Office staff was great and the laundry was very good. Plenty of space around our site for a great camping experience of four nights! We camped at Glacier Campground in a Motorhome.

Very close to the west entrance to Glacier National Park. All sites are in the trees making it cool and shady. The campground hosts were all very accommodating. The site we had was long enough for our 31 foot travel trailer and truck. There was plenty of vegetation between sites giving some privacy. Our site had water and electric. Some tent sites appeared to be crowded and did not offer much privacy. We were able to get TV reception and some cell phone service. The Wifi was only available in the office where they had a nice living room area with comfy furniture and a TV. The price was a lot less than any other campground in the area. I would return. Close to west entrance of Glacier Natuonal Park, this was a very nice campground in a heavily wooded area. The office personnel were friendly and helpful. Lot was level but had just enough room for 28 ft travel trailer and tow vehicle. Spacing was nice, WiFi in office area, too much foliage for satellite. We connected ok with Verizon LTE. We checked out some of the campgrounds in the park and the ones we saw were mostly pull throughs that were very narrow. Would definitely stay here again. About as close as you can get to the West entrance of Glacier National Park. The campground offers breakfast Wednesday to Sunday. Laundry facility available as well. Sites are situated on a mountain slope but are somewhat level. Our site was fairly tricky to navigate into though for a big rig. The biggest issue was the low power voltage coming into the rig.

The rate reflects Good Sam discount. We camped at Glacier Campground in a Motorhome.
