Stayed 10 nights. It's understandable why this is the #1 rated KOA. I almost didn't feel annoyed paying so much for camping. :) You get great value from the site, plus a huge value being so close to the national park. We had a pull thru site on the east side of the park. This is the newer side (just a dirt lot when you look at Google Earth). The sites are more spacious than on the west side, I think. On the east side you have grassy lawns between the sites, and there's some growing trees mixed in. On the west side, in-between the sites are "landscape islands". Shrubs and trees planted together to section off a site. Driving around, it just looked more cramped. Our site was nice gravel; level. There are TWO sewer hookups so you can pick which one works best for your rig. Gravel extends out to create a patio area with firepit, benches, plus a picnic table. So nice! Site was probably 60-70' long. You could fit a 40' trailer plus truck, but we have extra vehicles so parked the truck in nearby extra parking. Grassy lawn between you and your neighbor makes it feel spacious. Whoever is in charge of the landscaping here is doing a fantastic job! The lawns, flowers, trees, etc are all tastefully done and help give that high-end resort feel. You often see staff moving around all hours of the day, and everyone we encountered was nice. It was nice to have an adult-only pool area, and the hot tubs were comfortable and clean. Had breakfast at their little restaurant; prices were more reasonable than I anticipated. Campground was easy to find; giant KOA sign on the highway. Far enough into the trees there was no road noise. Some train whistles can be heard. Very quiet at night; VERY dark at night. We were almost on the end and close to the trees; some nights you could hear animals moving around. Trash cans everywhere, super convenient. Wifi worked for checking email/social media except when the resort was full for Labor Day weekend. Multiple bars AT&T LTE. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Going to the Sun Road usually opens fully end of June. If coming in Aug/Sept, check the wildfire status - it may hinder views and close the road early. Drive the Inside North Fork Road to Bowman or Kintla Lake - just gorgeous. Whitefish is a super-cute town with some great breweries.

Probably the best KOA we've ever been to and in the top ranks of all the campgrounds we've been to. Set off from the highway in a clearing in the woods far enough to eliminate any highway noise with only the occasional faint distant train horn. Halfmoon Flats road coming in from highway is somewhat twisty with some relatively blind curves. Inside the campground the access roads are a mix of asphalt (only close to the entrance) and gravel. Roads are a lane and a half wide so problematic for two rigs passing. Sites are level gravel and decent length and width. Gravel patio area with fire pit, benches and picnic table. Then grass all around the site with good separation between the sites. Scattered trees within the campground provide some shade and in some cases will interfere with satellite access. Power was a bit low (109v) when we arrived (the park was full), it was better later when the park was empty. Water pressure was a bit low (50 psi static, but only 35psi flowing). Sewer was ok. Campground wifi had good signal (perhaps influenced by an antenna in our site). Speed varied from adequate to sluggish when the campground was full to quite decent when the campground was near empty. Verizon was 4 bars with speed ranging from adequate to abysmal (the fire camp and helibase were right next door and thus on the same tower). No TMobile signal. Recycling consisted of 3 small trash cans - glass, plastic, aluminum - somewhat out of sight behind the office. Apgar visitor center had a large recycle setup for plastic, paper, and cardboard. Nice paved road bike trail running parallel to US 2 - about a 10 mile round trip into the park. We will stay here again. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

This KOA Holiday is a fabulous place to stay! Just minutes from the Glacier National Park entrance and the little town center of West Glacier. It is a large campground with multi-use sites, from tent sites up to patio pull throughs for RVs. There are also cabins, which look like they range from basic to resort type cabins. Two swimming pools, one for families and one for adults only. There are horseshoes and corn hole games available and a nice playground for the kids. We saw one small dog park area, but we don't typically use the dog parks. A cafe/restaurant on site, as well as an ice cream stand. Flowers everywhere, a walking path through the woods (which we did use and loved) and the people who work here are very nice and helpful. Our site was a patio pull through, complete with lovely landscaping, a large patio set with umbrella and commercial type gas grill. There is also a nice fire pit area on our site, with two benches to sit on, but this time of year fires are not allowed, so we were unable to enjoy that part. The roads are gravel/dirt, but they do have a company come in and spray often to keep the dust down. The one complaint we have is the wifi (free) was really not good, even though the wifi antenna was very close to our site. Even the cell reception was iffy, but considering our location, it was a bonus that we had any cell reception at all. Inside the National Park there is no reception except very weak signals at one or two spots. We enjoyed a Sunday worship service in the grassy area under a tent, as well as a Friday evening musical guest...a guitarist who played and sang mellow classics from Bob Dylan to John Denver. All in all this KOA really should be rated a "Resort." We fully enjoyed our 11 days here and plan to return next year...in fact, we would spend an entire summer here and may do so once we are done seeing the USA! We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Glacier National Park is amazing! Go, hike, see and enjoy! The town of Hungry Horse is down the road and huckleberries and huckleberry products are abundant everywhere. Kalispell is about 34 miles away, and has shopping for everyone. God's 10 Commandments Park is on US 2 in Columbia Falls, about 10-12 miles from here. It is an interesting place where there are billboards and lots of items to be had that are Christian based.

One of the nicest KOA parks we have stayed in. I gave it a 10, but there seems to be an electrical issue in sites 209 thru 213. Our surge protector usually read around 204 to 208 volts on both legs of 50 amp. Since there seemed to be little chance of surge, I had to disconnect the surge protector & go straight from line to plug so we could use a/c, etc. We were in the newer east part & I think when this section was constructed, the electrical contractor skimped a bit on gauge of electrical trunk line. It was a little on the hot side while we were there & I think the park really not designed to handle 90+ temps. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

Park entrance about 10 minute drive, but it will take you awhile to drive the Going to the Sun road up to Logan Pass, which by the way, in the summer, you need to be at Logan Pass by 8 a.m. or you will not get a parking spot. Onsite restaurant is pretty good. Serves good breakfast & dinner.

This is definitely a 5 star campground!! Everything is perfect: two pools (adult & family), sites, mountain views, gift store, convenience to Glacier National Park, entertainment, etc. They even serve breakfast and dinner. Dinners are all grilled to order. Several choices range from chicken, trout, steak, and all delicious!! Would definitely stay here again!! We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Resort KOA that is close to entrance to the park. It is a large KOA with different types of sites. The patio sites have a patio and grill (new section). We were in a super site in the older section. FHU's good and mid site sewer seem a bit far back. Propane available on site. Can unhook toad at checkin (best) or at site. Site 136 very level as were all sites. Most all sites satellite friendly. Wifi unusable (near office best). T-Mobile 3-g. Verizon showed 5 bars, but data was very slow especially early evening. I think the towers are overloaded. Park has an adult only pool and regular pool and hot tub. Great landscaping at this park. Visit the park restaurant (dog friendly). Pricey but great steak dinners. Tasty scoop ice cream shop on site. Evening programs, games for kids on site. No cable tv. Did not try OTA they list 4 channels. One of the nicest KOA's we have visited. The patio sites are about $40.00 than super sites. This is a good choice if you want to stay near to Glacier West park entrance. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

There is a clinic in the town, great doctor. Watch for ticks in bushes. Go to the Mexican restaurant down the street on same side as KOA. There is a gas station in town good for cars.

We stayed in what looked to be a new section in a back in site. The park was what KOA calls a holiday park which is the middle grade park. Lot of extras like restaurant and coffee shop. Laundry wasn't quite big enough for the size of the park. Car rental in town will bring car to park and pick up. No cable tv and no satellite because of trees behind park but fair over the air. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful KOA and you can't beat the location. This is located less than a 10 minute drive from the entrance to Glacier National Park. The grounds are immaculate and the sites are very level. Water pressure seemed to go in and out quite a bit to where it was pretty low pressure. We didn't have any issues with electric. We had 1 of the premium sites so there was privacy landscaping to where it didn't feel quite as packed in as most private parks. The price was quite high. The only negative is the WiFi was completely unusable for about 90% of our stay and there is no cable TV available. There were a couple of OTA channels. They're getting 4 starts instead of 5 because of the high prices and lack of connectivity options which I think should come with those prices. For Internet, Verizon voice was good but data was .33 d/l. Booster doesn't help so it must be network congestion here. AT&T was good for voice and data 12+ d/l unboosted. T mobile data was nonexistent. Good walking around the grounds for the dogs and there were 2 small fenced dog areas onsite. Pro tip, they have small motorboat rentals at Apgar Village on the lake and they allow dogs in the boats. They were great priced at $25/hr for the rentals. Shopping for groceries etc was about 20 min drive in Columbia Falls. Nearby activities were too many to mention. You can hike, bike, and boat to your heart's content here. Don't miss Going to the Sun road. It was an amazing drive and you will see lots of wildlife. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

We splurged on the patio site in the new section. The site was beautifully landscaped with fire ring with benches, patio table with umbrella and a gas grill. Site was expensive but worth the splurge. The view was beautiful. The park is close to West Glacier NP entrance. We were able to bike from KOA to park (however the hill to the KOA was a bear for us novice bikers). The grounds of the KOA are beautifully landscaped, nice pools- one adults only pool with hot tub and one for families. Small campstore for such a large park. Large grass area we were able to use to play cornhole/washers, volleyball, throw ball around, it was large enough to have a game of football or soccer. Ice cream shop and full service restaurant in campground. Couldn't get WiFi to work. Small dog park that was on old/opposite side of park. Map stated one in the new section but we were told it hadn't been built yet. Despite the few negatives, this is probably the most beautiful park we have stayed in. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.

This is 2017's KOA of the Year and for good reason. Any notion you have about KOA's being mediocre are put to rest here. Gorgeous throughout. Spacing isn't overly generous, but not bad. Terrific facilities, landscaping, etc. and doesn't hurt that it's located 5 minutes from Glacier. Not cheap, but highly recommended. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Travel Trailer.

I wanted to love this park - from the outside, it's high class. The premium sites are spectacular - amazing landscaping, dining tables with unbrellas, grills and firepits, mountains in the background, just lovely. Then night came, and it's like park management left the premises. Out of the 4 nights we were there, only one night did we get a decent sleep due to the loud drunks partying, our neighbors who left their outdoor TV on loud and then left their RV, the steady stream of chain smokers, the kids running around shining flashlights into other RVs at night or running through the hedges and your patio while you're eating dinner. I could have gotten a better hotel room for the cost we paid. We talked with management about the noise after 10, who said they drove by nightly and didn't hear anything - which I find impossible due to the loud "whooping" until past 1 AM which you could hear from one end of the park to the other. We will be finding a different park next time we visit Glacier. If you want to smoke and party until dawn while your kids run feral, this is the park for you. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Even if you can't get a site here you should at least drive thru the park if you can. Out in the woods. Beautiful. Right on top of the west gate to glacier. Huge camp, wonderful facilities, SUPER friendly staff. They let us in as drop ins with no fee. We like KOA but this place is probably the best KOA we have seen. No cable, but the broadcast signal is excellent (my sat receiver passed away on day two of our trip). On site café. Big Camp Store. And...... THEY HAVE AN ICE CREAM Parlor On SITE!!! They are TRULY pet friendly too.... When we come back we WILL stay here. We camped at West Glacier KOA in a Motorhome.
