Better than average parking lot with full hook-ups. Very convenient location, literally backs up to Yellowstone, short drive to the West entrance. In the town, walking distance to everything. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is right in town, behind the I-Max Theater. Clean park with gravel roads and level, gravel sites. Pet area in rear of park, part of which has grass. Short walk to Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, I-Max Theater, shopping and restaurants. 1:00 p.m. check-in - don't arrive early. There's not enough room to exercise my dogs, would be OK otherwise. We probably would not stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

39 foot Class A. As mentioned, basically a gravel parking lot with small strips of grass in the pull-through sites. WiFi available with code, would disconnect at random 2-3 times per day, but usually back up within minutes. During our stay, it appears as if there will be paving/blacktop going in soon - the roads were scraped and it looked like there was new concrete curbing around the landscaping. Fee included some discount coupons for the adjacent IMAX theater and gift store. You can't beat the ease of access to the west entrance to Yellowstone. No shade at the moment, but newly installed trees should provide some shade to the end sites in coming years. My wife and I both agree that we would stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is behind the IMAX theater, go just past the theater and take that entrance. The driveway before the theater allows no access to RV Park. Check-in booth opens right at check in time and appears un-staffed prior or after check-in times.

Park was at capacity on Sept 19 turning people away. Reservations definitely recommended. Park is on level ground, gravel roadways and parking areas. Spaces are very adequate width with plank patios and picnic tables. Beware the big rock guarding the patio area in each space, it would be easy to hit if your attention wanders. Garbage dumpster is bear proof, the door is HEAVY, be very careful. There is a sign on it, but IMHO the sign is inadequate for the potential danger.

RV park is walking distance to downtown shopping area with many souvenir shops and restaurants. Discount to IMAX with RV park receipt. Yellowstone park East Entrance is just around the corner. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take an extra dose of patience when driving in the park. The speed limit is 45 mph. Many, many people drive 25 mph just in case they might see something interesting. There are many pullout areas for parking and gazing at the scenery but driving slowly is oftentimes the preferred touring style of the inconsiderate. The Parks System has 2 good apps for Yellowstone, one general and one specifically estimating when the geysers will erupt. (search Yellowstone Park in whichever App Store you have)

We have stayed here for the last 3 years, four days each time. ALL SITES are spacious, even the back-ins. Very clean grounds with grass at each pull-thru site. Great 50 amp service and strong wifi. Perfect for touring the park and walking to West Yellowstone shops and restaurants. Better sites then 90% of the campgrounds were we have stayed this summer. Level with plenty of gravel to avoid mud if raining. Any RV parked correctly in the site will have room for the largest awnings. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

There is minimal area for pets to be walked. Walking distance to town, super close to the entrance of Yellowstone National Park. No cable, Wifi good. Not a park to go if you have kids and want amenities. Better prices than the other local campgrounds. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is the 5th different RV park we have used in West Yellowstone over the decades. We had a FHU, pull through site. There are 3 rows of 5 pull though sites each with 10 back in sites at the far end of the park. The park roads are worn down gravel and the RV site pads are that large stone, hard to walk on, gravel. All sites are FHU. The sites utilities are modern and well placed with the sewer encased in cement and basically at ground level. There is a plastic deck a picnic table. As mentioned by others, there is no fire pit by local ordinance. Site length and width are decent. There is no cable TV but all the PT sites are satellite friendly. I am not sure about the back in sites. The small building at the park entrance contains, the small, through the window office, a modern laundry with 4 of each machine, and bathrooms and shower facilities adequate for this small park. There are no recreational facilities in the park. The WIFI worked well - even after dark - for us. I saw no sign of any recycling. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed for week. No weekly discount. Missed the turn coming in as did many people. Follow instruction on the park website: driving south on Canyon St (US 191), pass the large bear statue on the island in the middle of the street and immediately turn left. The park offers pull-through and back-in sites. The pull-through sites are more desirable and more expensive. Pull-through sites have a hard surface patio with picnic table, some grass, and face northeast which gives you awning side shade after noon. The back-in sites are in very thick gravel which is difficult to walk on, no grass, and face due west which puts a lot of heat on the windshield if driving a motorhome. There is no shade at any of the sites. Spacing between sites is average. Your neighbors are close by. No OTA TV and no cable. Our site had a picnic table on gravel. This is not really a kid friendly park. There is no playground, common area, or swimming pool. No place to ride a bicycle. Wifi was great most of the time. This is really just a gravel parking lot behind the Imax theater. It is not a great park, but it has upsides: VERY close to the west entrance of Yellowstone. Better price than other area parks, but still expensive for what you get. Walking distance to downtown West Yellowstone. We would stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Location location location...it is located right outside the West entrance and within walking distance to the cute little town of West Yellowstone. Our first night we were lucky to have a pull through spot which was spacious and even had a grassy area but we had to move to a back in for the remainder of our stay...the sites are very tight and narrow and no grass at all..it was even hard to open our car door or put our awning out without hitting the coach next to us. It would be hard to call this a park as it is really just a parking lot right behind the Imax theater. The plus side is each site had a picnic table and the wifi was strong. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Right outside the west entrance of Yellowstone - talk about convenient! Very quiet even though the IMAX theater is right there and the park entrance is within minutes. Sites were level and easy to access. The lady that checked us in was very helpful - one of the best on this trip. The restrooms, showers, and laundry room was very clean. The dryer was irratating because it was .50 cents for 15 minutes and there was no way to select a longer cycle - so every 15 minutes meant another trip to the laundry room. However this was a small inconvenience overall. Close to everything downtown but since this is at the end of town you are not in the middle of the craziness.

Picnic table and grass at all sites. This is a bear aware park and it's kept very clean. We would definitely stay here again; we enjoyed our time there.

You are not allowed to have a campfire because of city ordinance - which we totally understand. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask the hostess for recommendations when you check in; she is a wonderful resource. There is a pizza place that delivers (I can't recall the name however it's one that was recommended) - have it delivered. The town is terribly busy with a lot of tourists (and not always the nicest) - however the park is away from all of this while still convenient. You get a discount on the movie when you show your park receipt - which is nice.

Clean, larger gravel sites with grass strip, trex deck and plastic picnic table at each site. Trees at end of each row. No fenced dog park but nice grassy area for walking dogs. Park website is great for picking desired site in advance. Campers in park get $5 admission to the huge Imax theatre screen and amazing dolby sound. All utilities worked good but was surprised when staff demanded that water hose be disconnected within 15 minutes around 8 PM one evening due to impending freezing conditions. No cable tv but 4 over the air channels. Good lighting at front of park but dark in the rear and around the pet are. Shower stalls are separated by a curtain with fairly tight dressing area but strong flow of hot water. Restrooms were closing on October 14 and entire park was closing on October 18. Great location just outside park entrance and adjacent to visitors center, McDonalds, gift shop etc. Rate was offseason rate with Good Sam discount for a pull through. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spent 11 nights at this park. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It looks to be a fairly new park as the trees are all small. Each pull through site has a grass area, a patio with a picnic bench, and full hookups. The sites were large although not completely level. It is located right behind the imax theatre, and there is some noise from it a few times a day. I do wish there were paved streets and site pads, but they are less expensive than other parks in the area. No children's play area, no adult play area. It's a good place to stay if you aren't looking for a pretty park with activity areas. Again, the staff was wonderful. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Bare bones park, no amenities. Not much to choose from in W Yellowstone, so decided to try this one. Spaces are close together in basically a parking lot. Utilities worked just fine (50 amp FHU pull thru site). As previous customer stated, office is a hut right behind the IMAX theater. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It all depends on what you want.... If you need to see large sections of grass and have big tall trees around you, don't stay here because it's mostly all gravel with just small strips of grass between the premium sites. [These sites are pull-thru and also have very nice patios, and most have planted trees at each end.] We chose the cheaper back-in sites at the back end of the park with no grass/patio, but we had plenty of room between us and our neighbors, and we looked out onto the medium-sized trees in the center/premium area of the park. Pros of staying here: strong WiFi signal, well-maintained bathrooms, nice laundry room with 4 w/d ($2 to wash; $0.50 to dry), easy walking to everything in this cute little tourist town, great proximity to northwest side of Yellowstone, and bonus: $5 to see the IMAX movies which were outstanding (see Yellowstone and also Lewis & Clark). The only drawback we found was that there was no floral landscaping so no "pretty" - but isn't that what the park is for? We found everything else to be just fine for two full-timers - it was quiet at night, the price was right, and proximity couldn't be beat. We would absolutely stay here again. We camped at Buffalo Crossing RV Park in a Motorhome.

Woodside Bakery, Morning Glory Coffee & the coffee shop inside The Book Peddler were morning favorites. The Wild West Yellowstone pizza place served up good pizza. Two independent food markets in town; both small but had what we needed.

Bare bones, just a gravel site and driveway with a bit of grass in-between behind a huge IMAX building which does shield the highway noise. The office is small HUT, not operated like the typical rv park, a window and nothing else....if you need something you must call a posted number and hope someone answers it. No shade, one trash dump at front of area that is surrounded by commercial, offices, etc and retail. No amenities....no pool, nothing but a medium short distance walking to 4 streets of a charming town. We were here in a class A motorhome. We have many friends who have been here and suggested Yellowstone Grizzlly Bear RV park, but we were with a group and had prepaid all rv park locations...
