A return visit! I was last here in Sept 2015. Got the same site - ON the water with a boat launch from my site. Other campers were very friendly, easy going place. If you're much over 35ft, think twice before coming in here. Spent another 3 nites. Will return. We camped at Lonesomehurst in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Absolutely beautiful campground on Hebgen Lake. We stayed in one of the spots that offered 50 amp electric ($23) or you can dry camp for $16/nite. Dry camping spots towards the end of the loop in the campground have fabulous views. We have a 43' coach and fit just fine in our back-in spot with room for our jeep. Camp hosts were great and stopped by daily to say hello. Very laid back, tranquil and peaceful. There is fresh water you can fill your tanks with, but no dump station. Verizon worked fine and our in-motion satellite worked well too - not that you should be watching tv - you should be outside taking in the stars at night. You do have to drive down a dirt road for a bit getting to the campground, but it's well wroth it. There are strategically placed pegs all around the roadways and campsites that can be a bit tricky as well, but negotiable. We'll be back for sure. We camped at Lonesomehurst in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A National Forest Service campground that is in a spectacular location and is large enough to accommodate larger rv's. I travel in a 38 ft 5er and found several sites, including a couple water front that I can fit in. This park is typical of NFS campgrounds where there are no hookups in most of the sites. A few have electric, and there are communal water spigots available. The water and electric are only available from about Memorial Day through late September. The park remains open all year (to the best of my knowledge). The lake is great for boating and fishing. There is Verizon service, but voice calls are spotty, texting and Internet worked fine. We camped at Lonesomehurst in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is $16 a night and is right on Hebgen Lake. It has a boat launch ramp and shore access if you want to launch a canoe. Most of the sites are in the trees with a few full to partial sun sites. The campground is small about #28 sites. There are lockers for food if tent camping, pit toilets, and plenty of fresh water. This is a dry campsite, but there are a few (maybe 1 or 2 sites) with electric hook ups. The sites are pretty level and are all back in. There is plenty of space to park your trailer if you are towing a boat or another vehicle. All sites have picnic tables and fire pits. Most sites can accommodate good sized RV . We camped in site #13 with a 32 foot motorhome and fit very well. Some sites are first come first served and some are reservation. You can stay for #16 days. The road in is paved except for the last ¼ mile. Camp hosts are really nice, helpful, and supportive, and they are keen on keeping the camp clean, quiet, and nice. We have camped here twice and will be back again for sure. We camped at Lonesomehurst in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is only a few miles from West Yellowstone where there are places to shop for food and souvenirs, and there are restaurants. You are also only a few miles from the entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It is a very pretty campground nestled in the trees beside the lake.
