We stayed in the park in our toy hauler, 36' pulled by a crew cab long bed Ram and had plenty of room in our pull through. Level sight, perfect hook ups. Fishing pond was there but no fish due to a problem last year, so no fishing. Awesome views and for a change no trains going by the park. The town stores are close enough to walk to and the hot springs at the hotel can be used as a guest for a very reasonable price. We drove out into the mountains and enjoyed a walk through a real ghost town. It is on private property so you need to get permission to enter before heading out. Check in was quick and easy and there are no crazy rules at the park. I was there with my 9 year old. We rode bikes and walked around a bit. The area near the park is a lower income area but the people were very friendly as we walked around, not bad people at all, just lower income. I would stay at this park anytime I am in the area. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Travel Trailer.

For information on trails, fishing and other outdoor activities there is a ranger station on the main road, two blocks from the park. They are very helpful and gave us maps to get around.

This is a great park! It has everything we look for...pullthroughs, 50 amp service, sewer, good water pressure (and all the hookups are conveniently placed for hookup). Easy to level with just one board, good over the air tv channels, decent free wifi that varies in speed, but the park was pretty full, nice grass between sites and a well tended park. The flowers were very pretty, there is a nice fishing pond and I read there is a $6 per fish charge, no catch and release. The laundry was clean, $1.75 each for washers (30 minutes) and dryers (50 minutes). We were there over a Saturday night and the owner had an ice cream social for $1 a scoop and he also gave a talk about the local history. There is a little area that isn't so pretty to drive through on the way to the park, just a few blocks, but once you are in the park, it is nicely laid out with gravel roads, nice fencing and very well done cutouts of animals and cowboys, etc. attached to the fence. There are no obstructed views of the snow capped mountains, no trains and no highway noise. The people are very friendly, and if there was more to do, we would have stayed the total 4 days they allow with Passport America because this was a great deal! We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed with our OAR membership. Free good Wifi, very clean and well maintained rv park. Sites are just long enough and if you get neighbors they will be very close. Quiet, no trains, no highway noise and beautiful views on the valley. Not much to do around here but great for a few days of rest. Hot springs in town looks very dirty and old. We will be back. The park was very clean and well maintained, being the start of the season we were the only ones there, wifi was great, after 7pm they even let us stream movies. Very friendly folks. Bar 47 tavern in town has great food, nice place. We also had breakfast at the Branding Iron Café, good food, nice people, they close at 3pm. They honored our Passport America. Conestoga Campground was a nice stopover for us. Friendly campground is well maintained and within a short drive or walk to town. Large pull through sites (49) with some full hookups and a dump station. Picnic table at each site. GOOD FREE WIFI. Clean bathrooms and showers with privacy. Lots of flowers planted around the office and a big collection of wooden silhouette cutouts. Wide open and grassy with a low fence around, but small trees are being cultivated. Nice little gift shop. Small pond for fishing. No catch and release. $6 for each fish caught. Honored our Passport America discount. We would stay here again. No mature trees but trees and lilac bushes are being cultivated. Office staff was friendly on check in and advised about available discounts with local merchants. Montana is in a drought so the grass is very dry. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Fifth Wheel.

Conestoga offers a quiet get-away for those who don't need a lot of amenities. Great boathouse and laundry, limited wifi, all pull through sites. Sites are close but campground never got more than half full in the week we were there. The adjacent city offers food and services needed. Day trips to Great Falls and Yellowstone do-able. Stayed here four nights to attend the Red Ants Pants Music Festival!! Nice campground, close to town (within walking distance), quiet and clean. For the festival it was also a bus stop for transportation to and from the ranch area where it was held. Wifi was good, also cell phone (Verizon) reception. Nice places for walking dogs along outer perimeter or even all the way out along the road. Would stay here again. Overflow sites available with water & electric only, also dry sites. There is also a nice tent camping area in the middle with convenient shower, bathrooms, laundry close by. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Travel Trailer.

Clean and quiet campground with friendly staff. Not a lot to do in the area but this was a 2-day stopover for us between Yellowstone and Glacier so we weren't looking for a lot to do. Level site and plenty of room for the toad. Good laundry facilities and a cute town with about anything you want or need. Butcher shop in the grocery story at the east end of town has awesome meats! Wi-fi service through Verizon was very good. Ice cream social on Wednesdays and Saturdays around 7:00 run by the owner...great place to get ideas of what's in the area and where you might like to go. Only negatives are there aren't enough trees, no fire rings, and there wasn't a great place for dogs to run/exercise. Staff there was "dog friendly" enough and there was plenty of room to walk with your dog outside the campground. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Motorhome.

This park is also part of the PA system. Large pull through sites (tent sites on the grass); FHU with good electric and good quality water. Wifi, no cable, got enough antenna stations though. No pool, small rec center (ice cream social Wed & Sat); playground for the kids and a very small dog park. (There is a field down a gravel road to let your dogs loose.) Nice small town for walking. Horses all over; deer wandering through the city streets. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very quiet campground with easy access interior roads and level sites. The staff could not have been nicer and accommodating to us. We stopped over after closing hours for some ice cream treats ($.75) and the campground host saw us and came over and opened the office to serve us. The sites were open, with grass lawns between each. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are not many facilities in White Sulfur Springs. There are two very small grocery stores that offer the basics.

Ask about the Castle Town, a deserted town, and the Charles M Bair Museum and home. Both are fun to visit. Castle Town is reached via a gravel road that we took in a Ford Focus. Due to road conditions, we were ready to turn around when we found it. About 5 miles past the "No Trespassing" sign.

This is an exceptional RV park and campground for the money. Though the camping spots are a tad close, the price is very reasonable, Internet is quite strong, and the park is very clean. Staff is very friendly, too. I would recommend this park to anyone. Of course, because of its value, it is also quite possibly full. Do not expect to just show up in the summer and have a spot. Be sure to call ahead.

Anyone driving between Yellowstone National Park and Glacier National Park on Highway 89 should consider spending one night in White Sulphur Springs. And if you have a RV this is the place to do it. We camped at Conestoga Campground / Smith River Valley in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Women should check out Red Ants Pants. Great local craft brewery in town, too. Best breakfast in at the Branding Iron Cafe. They also serve an exceptional lunch and dinner, too. If in town during the summer on a Wednesday be sure to visit the Hutterite's farmer market in the Spa parking lot. Get the zucchini bread. The Castle Museum in town is neat, as is the Bair Ranch Museum in nearby Martinsdale.

This park was a welcomed surprise at the end of a long day of traveling. Quiet campground was well maintained and within a short drive to town. No ice, but gas stations in town have it. Laundry had four washers and dryers. They could use a few more when the park is crowded. Friendly staff. Large pull through lots with some full hookups and a dump station. Picnic tables at each site. GOOD WIFI that is free. Clean bathrooms. Book exchange and free use of DVD's for 24 hrs. Rec room with large tables to play cards, work on puzzles, etc. Good water pressure. Small pond for fishing. $6 for each fish caught. No catch and release. Nice playground for children. I would stay here again.
