3 RV Parks near Zurich, Montana
Oct 2015 - $15.00
This is a very small city park with a limited # of spaces. I had used the site the preceding year but had not been able to take advantage of the hook-ups because all the spaces were full. This time, myself and my traveling companions both found suitable hook-ups for power for both trailers. The area is grassy with pit toilets located fairly close.
The care taker is very friendly and she lives close by. - Lukes
Sep 2015 - $25.00
Update to previous review...owner stopped by on several occasions asking me to unhook my water at night because he feared it would freeze. A fair request, only it never got below 40 degrees. I kindly obliged. They do NOT take credit cards. Dusty, dusty lot which means the inside of your RV gets coated in sand and dust. Some construction workers moved in and "made a mess" in the toilets, which I did not see so the owner who complained about cleaning the bathrooms CLOSED the showers and bathrooms! I couldn't believe it. After a few days he opened them again. Laundry on site was closed. Need to walk to neighboring business to do laundry. Owner stopped by one day and asked me to leave because the night before I did not disconnect my water. Did not know he wanted it disconnected EVERY night. The low temperature according to the National Weather Service in Chinook, Montana on the evening off 9/26/2015? 43 degrees. This owner is not suited to being a RV park owner in the hospitality industry. There's a new place between Havre and Chinook. Stay there. Stay anywhere. Just not here. - Johnny Blood
Sep 2015 - $25.00
It's really quite sad this RV park isn't better. Located in the heart of Chinook, it last even the most basic amenities. There is not a blade of grass anywhere. Slots are compact and there are no pull-throughs. They even force you to park your vehicle right next to your trailer so you have no area to hangout on under the awning. Very tight. Never received the pass code to the shower/bathroom. No one ever in the office. No Internet available. $150 for a week's stay and $350 for a month's stay, which isn't bad...if this place had something (anything) to offer. - Johnny Blood
Oct 2006 - $20.00
Standing water covering 1/4 of the lane in the park. One of the toilets was plugged and remained so even when reported to the office. Persons using restroom to smoke in. No venting for bathroom/shower. No toilet paper or soap in the restroom. Claimed there was wireless internet but it didn't reach to the RV park portion. Only RV park in town. - mtriverrunner
Jun 2017 - $35.00
Owners have brought this park to happy life. Extremely friendly and helpful folks. Long level sites on hard pack gravel. Grass at each site with picnic table and colorful umbrella. Good WiFi and young trees growing. Farm like atmosphere with donkeys and a little duck pond. Train is a non issue...no horn and far away enough to be no problem. Great park for overnight or longer. - Lynnya
Sep 2016 - $37.00
As other reviewer said, friendly owners, many sites are extra long. Fairly new park and cottonwood trees have been planted but will be a few years before they provide shade. Children would enjoy the many animals the Hansens have. Choose a site as far to the back as possible to lessen train noise, at least they do not blow horns near here. Park needs more gravel, especially the roads. WiFi much better than average. Have some recycling which I appreciated. Stayed here to go to Bear Paw Battlefield, Nez Perce final battle and couldn't find any decent parks in Chinook. - BandD
Jun 2016 - $45.00
We stayed here one night, unexpectedly due to bad weather (high wind) conditions.
The managers (husband and wife owners) were very friendly and treated us well. Every site is a pull through, and some are over 75' long. Roads and parking areas are gravel. Water, sewer, and electric services are available at the center every site. Some sites are 30 amp, some are 50 amp. Every sewer connection is about 12" above grade. I had some difficulty dumping my waste tanks. There is no CATV. There are no TV broadcast channels available. I had one bar on AT&T phone. Internet was better than average for a campground, though the night we were there there were only 5 other campers using the service.
The train track is just on the other side of highway US-2 from the park. Freight trains passing about once per hour are definitely noticeable, but no more than the highway noise. It did not affect our sleeping.
I would stay here again while passing by. - R V Camper
