showers were old and there was a lot of rust on the walls. The park needs some TLC. Most of the sites need weed eating, and some mowing. The park has lost a lot of trees. - Joceil
Sep 2017 - $25.00
Parking sites are narrow and concrete is broken up at the ends but doable. Spacing is more than adaquate between sites. Electric box is close to site however water is at least 2-25' hose lengths away. Little train noise but no more than many RV parks. - phoenixcampers
Aug 2017 - $20.00
As others have stated, this is a city park with a campground. The spaces are quite close together, but there was plenty of room in our site for our trailer and truck. The sites are cement with a cement pad for the picnic table. The bathrooms are very basic - painted cement walls - and have electrical outlets for use. Although, some reviews say there are showers, we did not see any in either of the bathroom buildings we used. There are 2 dump stations. Our site had only electricity. The park is along the Missouri River, and there is a walking/biking path along the river. There's also a picnic shelter and a couple nice playgrounds for children. We were in Omaha for a soccer tournament, and Bellevue was convenient for getting into Omaha. We would stay here again. - Eldereaglewatchers

Oct 2017 - $20.00
Had originally to stay 2 nights but there was sever weather in our path so we decided to spend an additional night. The campground hosts were very friendly, the park was very nice with lots of grass in between each site. Lots of shade trees, a concrete slap and a picnic table on the patio. The roads were full of potholes so be careful. We were in site 22 and had good satellite access. - kathiecarlson
Aug 2017 - $20.00
We had a great site backed up to lake. Nice clean park, close to Omaha attractions. Nice walking trail all the way around lake. Some train and aircraft noise but not annoying. Sound of freedom! Small snack bar and equipment rental on site. Patio for site oddly situated. - pwdorris
Jul 2017 - $20.00
Planes, trains and tractor! All before 0700! Trains were the worst, especially at night and early morning. Use exit 364 and follow directions from their website. Easy to find! No pull through sites, all back in but some are longer than others. Fairly level concrete pads with a picnic table. Lots of room between sites. We spent one night here and had to unhook because it was just long enough for our 30 ft RV, not the truck. They enforce the no parking on the grass rule here! No WiFi at all. Nice walk around the lake. They are closed on Wednesday so we didn't go into the boat house but that's where you check in and where the bathrooms are. Overall a good place for the price, would stay here again. - 2VetsRVing

This park does not enforce any rules/restrictions. It has homeless camps set up in it that are pigsty's. On weekends, this is party central. Too many cars/people on one site. Dogs running loose. People urinating out in the open as bathroom is too far for them to walk. Very unsafe for children as cars are constantly driving through this tiny campground just to see the "circus". If this isn't enough, power is horrible. This is all just a shame to see as this area is so beautiful with the bike paths and deer & turkeys everywhere. All on a nice lake. Council Bluffs has a lot to offer but find another campground. - exit to
Jul 2015 - $16.00
This was, by far, the worst state park/camping experience we've had. After one night we couldn't get back on the road fast enough. Some of the campsites appear to be used as a junkyard. There was garbage all over the park. The bathrooms were so disgusting that in the morning my children refused to use them; the men's room had fecal matter throughout the stalls. People partied until late at night; the campground was rather noisy. The water and electric loop was a little quieter, but still loud. If we have to make the trip again, we will look for a campground near Omaha instead. - GB family
Oct 2014 - $11.00
Camped here during a soccer tournament. The showers are shut off by the time of year that we camp. The water hydrants are on. We fill when we get there and shower in the camper. The vault toilets are typical vault toilets. Fire rings are provided with nice racks. We bought firewood at the local hardware store. Lake is nice but at this time of year too cold to swim. We have biked and run the trails with our family. Just this morning we saw about 10 deer and a dozen wild turkeys. We have camped all over the US KOA, Good Sam, county parks, and state parks. Most reviews are filled with negativity. I have not felt unsafe here or that my children were in danger of being harmed. Because this campground does not have activities or an office I don't feel it deserves a 10. However, previous review portray this campground as full of homeless, drunks, and crackheads - which is not true. - CampingFamilyFun6

We drove into and around it, then drove out. The park is first come, first serve. This is a very old and very run-down park. We've stayed in marginal parks when necessary, but this one was unacceptable. - User2861
Jul 2017 - $35.00
This is the perfect park for our travel needs. No frills, very clean and well kept grounds, long back in sites. 119V steady 50A power, good water pressure, quiet at night. The sewer connection for the site we had was in an awkward, but assessable location. Nice big trees, but the majority of the sites are located so they do not interfere with the satellite signal. We definitely stay here every time we visit family in Omaha. - SuperRep
Jul 2015 - $35.00
I don't often post reviews, but this RV park has bad reviews that I just don't understand! Yes, they do not take reservations, yes, it is cash or check only, and yes it is operated by a woman perhaps in her seventies who does not use the internet.. But that woman was pleasant, smiled, chatted with me during the easy check-in, and did not demand to park my rv for me. She did come out and "spot me" to be sure I didn't drive over the sewer opening which is raised a few inches from the ground.. So what??
This is a very nice little campground - the grass is well-watered and well-mowed, the water pressure is 40 which is passable, the 50 amp is solid as a rock, and the long-term residents have decently-clean setups.
Omaha needs a good campground -- it has one - Tomes. - LagunaJim

Aug 2017 - $40.00
We had stayed here before and were scheduled to stay here while visiting my wife's family in Omaha. Even though the sites are back-in on a paved lot with no wifi or sewer at the site, we opted to stay here because it is close to family and there are not many other choices in the Omaha area. However, when we checked in we were told that there is a $50 per night property deposit, returnable 5-7 days after departure, in addition to the camping fee. The deposit was instituted after someone backed over a pole and cost the campground $1500 according to the security guard who checks you in. Since we were planning to stay about 15 days, the deposit would have added a $750 charge to our credit card in addition to the already high $600 ($40 per day) camping fee. Even the guard said he would not stay there because of it. So we left and luckily found another park. - McLee
Aug 2017 - $40.00
This park is shown on Goodsam Travel as "Bluffs Run RV Park" it is now the Horseshoe Casino. The spaces are in a cement lot with just electric and water. They have a dump station. No Wifi is available. I was mislead in believing this was a full service park. The $40 weekly and $50 on weekends is extreme considering it is not a full service park. All spaces are back in. Would not stay here again. - Mike Mac
Jul 2017 - $40.00
Not quite the casino campground that I was used to. If anything I can say that it's easy in and easy out. RV spaces are are lined up around the edge of a large parking lot. Water and electric only, and a dump station. Large grassy area behind the RV's is a place to walk the pets. Look at the sites before you take any random number, as some of the sites back up to a busy road. There is a Camping World and a Bass Pro nearby for shopping. Good overnight if you are passing through to go somewhere. Don't expect any amenities unless you are into casino's. - SargeW

Can't beat the price. The owner is great. As we were leaving we called him to tell him that the water wouldn't shut off all the way and was dripping. He was there within 5 minutes to fix it. With that said - this park sustained some significant damage from a tornado but they are working hard to restore it. The sites are pretty well spaced and level. The utilities are all good. The wifi is also quite good as was our Verizon 4G signal and our Direct TV Signal. The roads are pretty rutted and pot holed and muddy when it rains. There is grass between sites and several long term residents. That seems like the main source of sustained income for this park so be sure to call for availability. When we were there it was pay by check or cash only. There is a lot of highway noise but pretty steady so it seems kinda like "white noise." This is a good place to stay if you have business in Council Bluffs or just need to stop traveling for a night or two. We would stop again if we were in the area. Like I said - you can't beat the price. - NiMo
Jul 2017 - $20.00
Called for availability in the morning and man on phone very helpful. Told us to use site #11 or #40, whichever was open. When we arrived, both open. We looked at both and chose #11. It was long enough that we didn't have to unhook the car. When we left we could barely squeeze past neighbor's truck and work trailer. No one ever came by and greeted us. I tried to call and get WIFI password, but no answer. We used our Verizon data. But for the terrific price, it was safe, had 50amp and full hook-ups. Good enough for 1 night stop. Gravel entrance road for 1 mile, wasn't any fun. But again for the price, you put up with it. Not good for destination, just good enough for 1 night. - Dream Chasers

The park had a few trees but not many, and the roads were paved, in good condition, and easily maneuverable with a 36' DP motorhome. A very nice, clean park where the sites were spacious and had lots of grass (important if you have dogs). Sites only had power (no water, sewer, cable or WiFi) and our connection was 50/30/20 (some sites only had 30A service). There was a dump station available with rinsing water only, and there were potable water spigots scattered throughout the park. The RV parking pad was concrete and like new condition. There were restrooms but or showers. There was a leash-free dog exercise area which was fenced on three sides with water on the 4th for your dog to play in The price was very reasonable ($16) for this great little park. All sites are on a first come first serve basis. The park was located away from heavy traffic, so there was no road noise. We would rate this park as 9.7 out of 10. We stayed in a motorhome and would definitely stay here again if in the area. - Don Gagnon
Aug 2017 - $16.00
Visually attractive no reservation, first come first served CG. You register with the camp host who is located immediately as you enter. Electric only site, no wi-fi, ota tv, back-in. We disconnected dolly and parked it across the street in the parking lot. Mowed grassy areas, neat and clean. Paved walking trails just outside the CG that take you around the lake, very nice. The CG has a fenced in off leash dog park that is huge with access to a small lake and plenty of wild brush for them to explore. There is a mowed trail that takes you there or you can drive your car out the park and turn left. - Sunnie-Wheelhouse
Mar 2017 - $16.00
What a rare find! This is a beautiful city park and among the nicest settings we've stayed at. The 55' sites are spacious with plenty of length for the RV and gravel parking for the tow vehicle. The sites are fairly level side to side but slope front to back by several degrees. The access roads, pad and patio are all concrete and each site has 30/50A power, a picnic table and a grill. You'll have to pick up water on the way in and dump on the way out which is the only detraction we could find. There are several common water spigots located throughout. We picked up 30 OTA TV channels and our wi-fi hotspot signal was strong.
The park sits on 450 acres with a 105 acre reservoir and has over 3 miles of hiking/biking trails. They don't take reservations and RV sites are first come, so call ahead to gauge availability. At this time of the year the majority of the sites were open but during the prime summer season this place is probably difficult to get into. We would come back again. - Born2Roam

Camp fee is cash only. 44 sites with electric Water and dump station is available. 6 sites tents only no electric. Showers are adequate but not fancy, see thru shower curtains and no change area. Some trees but not much shade in the camp area. On the east of the camp in a boat launch on the Missouri River and on the left a very nice walking/ bike trail. - traveler 2

City owned park with on site hosts. Close to Omaha, so heavy use, especially on weekends. Located near the Missouri river so lots and lots of activity on weekends. Lots of shade trees and some sites that are not so close together as others. Restrooms and showers are older and not well maintained. Generally, an nice place to stay for a few days with weekdays being better than weekends. - marker82

Sep 2016 - $8.00
CASH only at this Omaha City run CG. Tough call on rating this place. It was a dust bowl the day we arrived. Our toad had a layer of dust so thick we could not see out of the windows. I had to dump a bucket of water on the windshield before unhooking it. That was just from the drive in and locating a site. Lots of fast moving traffic within the CG keeps it dusty. After an afternoon of rain, things got much better. Sites are either RV sites or tent sites. The RV sites have red topped number posts, the white topped posts are tent sites. Sites vary from level to very sloped, the closer to the water the more level they are. These water sites come with plenty of geese droppings included. The site we had was filthy and the grass around it was long overdue for mowing. That was true of most of the sites. I also checked the men's bathhouse and it was pretty disgusting. Glad we did not need to use them. Being a FCFS CG, people start coming in during the week to pick their site. We came in on a Thursday afternoon and lots of sites had trailers on them that had been left earlier in the day. 30 amp electric was good for our four day stay. Water is available on the way in at the dump station and in various locations within the CG loops. The price and location here add to the value. The locals seem happy with things as they are. It is a nice cheap CG close to the city. But they really do need someone here to keep an eye on things. There is no excuse for people to come in and leaving the sites in such a mess. Hundreds of cigarette butt's littered the ground, beer bottle caps, etc. But the place works ok for a pit stop along I-80 in the Omaha area. - Bob and Inga
Jul 2016 - $8.00
Campground is still a great place to stop in the Omaha area. Problems with water noted in an earlier review had been resolved by the time we stayed here. Sites were clean and well-maintained. Sites on the lake are most popular, but all of the sites are large and have shade. Will stay here again when we come back to Omaha. Park accepts the Federal Government's Senior Pass, so rate is half off, if you have one. - Bobbi1948
Jun 2016 - $15.00
Beautiful spot but they need a campground host with a rake and a garbage bag. Spots had garbage floating about and the fire rings were clogged. Our site was littered with cigarette butts. Too bad as the view is nice and most spots are shaded, just no one there to keep an eye on things. NO water while we were here as well, (had tested positive for coli). Only pota potties. - AdrianaW

We stayed here during the off season. The only restrooms were vault toilets, but they were acceptable. They were a long distance from the campsite though. As others stated, there was a lot of train traffic, but we like trains so it was no problem. It is in a beautiful setting, and close to a great little pizza place. - rainman0
Jul 2013 - $18.00
We were not impressed. Trains were about 20 minutes apart with horns blasting day and night! This was right on the other side of the lake, some of the tent sites were mere feet from the tracks. Good luck sleeping. The bathrooms were nasty and had mold on the wall around the flush button. They smelled terrible. We ended up buying cans of air freshener to spray in there every time we went in. Plus it cost a quarter for each three minutes of showering. The $5 per night vehicle fee was not an issue for us as we had a annual sticker. We will not be returning. - tmretz
Sep 2012 - $25.00
Campsites are paved and have 30 amp service, no water. Some sites are harder to back into than others due to tight curves. Park office was closed when we arrived, but Ranger found us and informed us that, in addition to daily fee of $18 (plus $7 online admin fee), we needed to pay $5 daily usage fee. Restrooms were dingy, with dirty floors and mold growing on wall where water dripped from flusher. Based on that, we chose not to even check out the showers. Camp hosts not engaging. With such high camp fees, we were really disappointed with services and maintenance. There are many more places in the Omaha area - we would not stay here again. - mocrazylove
