For the amount of use this campground gets, it is in very good shape. Our site this time had plenty of grass, so we weren't tracking dirt and gravel into our camper. All the sites in the Pathfinder loop are large and laid out so that you aren't looking right into your neighbor's camper. If you are going to be here a week or more (or if you plan visiting other Nebraska parks), it may be better to get an annual pass than pay the daily rate. Verizon MiFi and Dish satellite worked great at our site. AT&T phone service was spotty - sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. We have a 32 ft. fifth wheel and didn't have any trouble navigating the roads in the park. We camped at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in site 76 in our motorhome. The site was difficult to get into because of the trees and bushes across from it. The site only has 30amp power which to our surprise ran both of the a/c's. The mosquitoes were viscous, I wish they would do some abatement in the park. Also was surprised to have to pay another fee for a park pass on top of the site fee. We camped at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very busy campground. On weekends it is difficult to drive through because of all the cars parked along the road, and because of the placement of the dump station in the Pathfinder campground. Campsites are pretty well spaced out. Most are large enough for a camping unit, a car and a boat, but the park is so close to town, there are a lot of visitors who also need a place to park. Because of all the traffic/use, the grass is pretty thin in most spots. Still, we will stay here again during the week, when it is much quieter and easy to get out on one of the lakes, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful and the park is well-maintained. There is some train noise, but it is usually quiet at night. We camped at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate includes out of state $5.00 fee.. Really poor signage. Got lost in a subdivision. Once there, people were very nice, showed us where to go on their map. Only a few pull through sites. Stayed day after Labor Day, so park clean-up was really needed. Flies everywhere. Must be their state bird. Could not sit out that evening; way too many flies. We camped at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

We spent 4 nights. We looked on-line and found a 50 amp site that would accommodate our rig. We stayed there Wednesday through Saturday, and since we are self-contained, we didn't use the showers. Although I looked at them. They were clean and spacious, but very dark and you had to pay for the showers. I loved the quiet atmosphere during the week. The trains were close, but we sleep with a fan, so the noise was not a problem. For the price, I thought this was an excellent park and would stay there again. The lakes were small, but beautiful. We had a family reunion there and were able to rent their new Rec Room. The ranger was very accommodating. We camped at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice, mature state campground. Plenty of tall Cottonwood trees, lakes, and paved spaces. Plan to fill water tank before setting up. This place is very crowded with locals during the weekends. The state reservation website stated we couldn't make reservations for the newer sites so we arrived with no reservation, and only a few spaces available. I think this would be a great campground "off season". Access is controlled into park and security patrol at nite. OBTW, additional state tax (park permit) is required beyond daily camping fee. We camped at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The Fremont lakes is a ok campground. Its fairly typical of Nebraska State Parks campgrounds. The showers and bathrooms are ok and usually a little dirty as they get a ton of use. Pretty typical of a public shower/bathroom that gets a lot of abuse. The showers cost either $1 or .50 (cant remember what I paid) but you do get quite a bit of shower time for that. You have a little coin operated device in the showers. So bring quarters if you want to shower in th CG. What I liked: its a nice campground and nice and level for riding bikes and going for walks. Camp sites are fairly roomy. Some are close but there are plenty of good sites. It's a good weekend campground. What I dont like: Not a lot to do. Hardly any playground equipment. The sites are very sandy so there is very little grass and the sand follows you everywhere. A lot of burs that my dog kept getting into. The term 'lakes' should be used loosely. These are not lakes, they are ponds. The boating lake is a long narrow pond with an island in the middle and you boat around in circles. Its kind of comical actually. The worst part is the noise. A train track runs along the park. You get train noise constantly. There is also a large elevator not to far away and when its blowers are running, its produces a lot of noise. We camped at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.
