1 Park near Hay Springs, Nebraska
Sep 2015 - $10.00
This is a very eclectic campground with a resident "manager" who was friendly and available. All the other campers were long-term. The sites were generally level with water hook-up only. Payment was made by envelope at an unattended office. What a refreshing change from the formal "check-in" at the big parks. The pool was closed for the season, but the town was taking up a collection to "save the pool"! There is a large, well maintained park across from the campground that offers plenty of exercise for the kids. The amenities in town were all walkable and there was plenty of room to run your dog off leash.
The only negative were the restrooms. They were quite frankly disgusting and in need of upgrading. - DHK
Jul 2015 - $15.00
City campground, lights, water, sewer. There is a pay box on site but we went to city hall and paid to get wifi password. Wifi was ok but kept getting knocked off and have to sign on again, even with the repeater. Right next ot swimming pool and good eats downtown Only about 10-12 spaces. More of a overnight stop than a destination stop. - Jim Lee
Oct 2013 - $15.00
As the others have said, a nice little city park (signs say "Sunset RV Park") at the edge of Hay Springs next to a residential area. Quiet; relatively dark night skies; full hookups (30/50 amp), long pull-thru lots..all for the price of $15. You cannot beat that anywhere. JL Grocery store about 4 blocks; restaurant across the street. If you stay for more than one night, take the short trip to the Saint Mary's Cemetery and look at the stones in the monuments built by Mr. Reid. Absolutely outstanding!! We would have no problems staying here again. - PennyPA
