Water & dump station closed for the year. No water to be found anywhere. Only 4-5 others camping. Lake was scenic, but not a good value for a one night stay over. $15 out of state for electric site plus $8 per night permit. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Tent Trailer.

Pawnee State Park is my favorite State Park in Nebraska. Sites are large and well-spaced. Every site has at least partial shade. There are lots of paths for walking your dog or just exploring the park. The $20 a night fee does not include the $6 daily park entrance fee. The park gets a lot of use, but the sites have lots of grass and not much dirt. That really helps when it rains. Verizon MiFi and Dish satellite worked well, but AT& T phone service was hit and miss. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice park, easy to walk, to ride a bike. Very clean and kept nice. It was very hard to back our travel trailer (27.5 feet) in, very tight to negotiate. We ended up pulling into the empty campsight across from us, then had no problem. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park, but small sites. The reserved sites appeared bigger. The lilacs were in full bloom. Not too far off of the freeway, and the road was good to get there. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Nice sites spaced a reasonable distance apart. Grounds well kept. Only complaint is bathroom/showers. Not enough for number of sites served. Also trash containers only at bath house meaning a lengthy walk. That being said for the price it is a good choice. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent park to stay at for a night or longer. The grounds are well-maintained and the campground is very clean. Sites are all large and well-spaced. There isn't really a bad campsite in the entire park. If you plan to be here over a weekend, I recommend making a reservation if you can. Otherwise, come in on Thursday (or earlier in the week) since the non-reservable sites fill up early. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an absolutely beautiful park overlooking a lake. The sites are clean, large, level, paved, 50 amp service. Reservations are easily made on-line. The reason this is rated only an 8 is because there is no water hook-up and the dump station is not in the campground. It is approximately 2 miles away. There are lots of trees but we were able to receive satellite service. Good cell service. If not for the dump station location this would be an excellent facility. This time of year the park is empty, and we had a great time walking the dog and enjoying the birds and rolling hills. Close to Lincoln but out in the country. Follow the directions on the park's website for easy driving on paved roads to the park. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Rate includes $5 park pass. Winter rate of $15 in effect. Showers were not open, but water was available at the dump station south of the office. Self registration. Nice level paved parking spots with lots of trees. We stayed for two nights while waiting out a winter storm with lots of wind and rain. Quiet at this time of the year. We saw one other camper besides the camp host. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

This park was good for an overnight stop or a longer stay. The sites are $20 but there is a $5 park entry fee as well. There are quite a few sites reserved for no reservation arrivals that are good for one night one. A little ways off the interstate but a good location. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Nice campground located about 15 minutes off I 80. The campground is well designed with level spacious sites suitable for any size rig. There is a good mix of sites in the shade and open for satellite use. The camping fee was $20 and a $5 vehicle fee. Good location to explore Lincoln. The campground has both first come sites as well as reservable sites. Bath houses would benefit from a deep cleaning. For a Sunday evening in late September it was 40% full. Tips for other Campers:

Water fill is located on the left side of the road after you make the right hand curve past entry. There is room to pull over but the water fill had low water pressure.

My daughter and I stayed here for an overnight in a Class B RV. We arrived and the ranger was very helpful. We took a spot right in the upper part of the campground away from other people. It was a nice level concrete pad with plenty of space. The campground was very clean and people were nice. We were there during the week and it was not crowded at all. We used the 30 amp hookup. It seemed like the campground could accomadate large and small RV's though I did not see any pull throughs but I might be wrong on that. The spot was $20 and there is a $5 entrance fee for the park. We'd stay again for sure. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The rate reflects a $20 per night camping fee for electrical hookup and $5 per night entrance fee into Nebraska State Parks. The first issue is getting to the park. Most GPS units will take you down either dirt or non-existent roads. You want to take NW 84th Street off of Route 6. Follow the, very small, signs to the campground, called Lakeview Campground. There are electrical hookup sites and dry camping sites. There is no water at the sites, but there is a fill station as you enter the electrical hook-up sites area. Most of the electrical sites can be reserved but there are a few that are first-come. The sites are pleasant and reasonably well separated but there is little vegetation for privacy. We were there just before Memorial Day and, even though there were many posted rules against; many folks came out and put something into a site to “reserve” it. There are camp hosts, but they are really not a presence in the campground. There are many things to do in Lincoln. We would definitely stay here again for an extended time. We would make reservations as the reservation sites are a little nicer and have 50 amp service. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The rate reflects $18 camping fee for a 30 amp electric site plus $5 for the daily use fee. This is a nice, large Nebraska State Park about 10 miles outside of Lincoln. Even though it is close to Lincoln, it has a very rural feel. It is a bit difficult to get to from Interstate 80. Do not blindly follow your GPS or you will end up on gravel roads. Do study a map. Like most Nebraska state parks, the signs are confusing. We were there off-season so had no problem finding a site in the electric hook-up area. The sites are well separated, but there is little vegetation for privacy; however, the park is very nicely landscaped. Most sites do not have views of the lake. We were able to find a site with satellite reception, but many would have trees blocking the sky. There is fresh water fill as you enter the campground. The dump station is not in the campground, but is south of the campground near Park Headquarters. Our Verizon phone had good reception and 4G data. There are hiking trials in the park. Overall this was a very nice park and we would stay there again. We camped at Pawnee State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
