Very nice park...clean and level sites...although PA states the rate is only good for 3 nights they made an exception so we could sit out a storm. Laundry facility was clean and all machines worked well. Most all sites are pull thru and can accommodate 60ft. Will definitely stay again if in the area. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

As many people have mentioned before, the owners of this rv park are extremely friendly and helpful. We have stayed here several times and they always made us feel welcome. Sites are level gravel. Spacious enough to open slides on both sides. Water pressure was good. Bathrooms clean. Rv park is close to the interstate but the road noise never bothered us. Owners are always out and about making the park looks nice and secure. There is a little playground for the kids. Small dog park on the north end. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

Typical Nebraska rv park. All gravel sites, during busy season the sites would be very close. At the time we visited they were placing campers in every other site which was very nice. All of the owners were very friendly and accommodating. They are in the process of planting a lot of sunflowers. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff here at the Sleepy Sunflower went out of their way for us. We stayed before their real season started and we wanted to have a fire but the fire rings were not yet out out for the season. They did drag one out of storage for us and delivered our wood as well. Both staff we interacted with were very friendly and kind and gave my husband a free beer coolie, which he used for the remainder of our trip, and they gave me a free postcard. Site was long and pretty level. We were in the end site by the town square area so had a little yard to hang out in. The park is right on I-80 but the traffic didn't seem to be overly loud even though our trailer has canvas pop-out beds. The train, on the other hand, was quite loud but didn't come by until @ 7 am so we were already awake. The campground was clean and decorated nicely. The sites all looked well-cared-for and level. We would definitely stay here again on our way out west. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

After dark arrival on our way home after Xmas. from our winter walkabout. As usual, 3rd time, the owner was awaiting for us to drive in, met us outside, directed us to a fine overnight site. Water available to fill our fresh tank at site even during the coldest weather. Sleepy sunflower is near I -80. so there is highway noise, but that is a small issie in consideration of their service and amenity. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Very small CG, just off the highway. Some noise from Interstate. By no means a "destination", but a good choice for an overnight stop. Essentially a flat gravel parking lot. WiFi on a par with most CG's, only good for basics. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

On checking in I enquired about WiFi and was told it was very good Upon trying to use it I found it to be unavailable. I could not send out a post to Facebook.

I gave up and went to my hotspot. Their hookup said 1 mpds and my hotspot said 75 mpds. This is a Passport America site and Passport America must do a better job of getting these "self-professed RV parks". We will be spending more nights in a Wal-Mart parking lot

as long as we have to use our hotspot. I suggest to others that if WiFi is bad say something. We also had bad WiFi at Mark Twain RV park in Monroe City. MO and Amana Co!ones in IA. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

Nice park with basic amenities. Level, gravel pull-thru sites, large enough that it wasn't necessary to detach the tow-car. Close enough to the interstate that road noise can be heard if you are outdoors, but not a problem when I doors. Management very friendly and helpful with attraction information, etc. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lake McConaughy is not far, if fishing is of interest. There is a petrified museum in town, although we were there on a Sunday and it was closed. Ogallala also has a soap-box derby race track!

Nicely kept park with 41 sites, all but 14 of which are gravel pull throughs. Unhitching the car is not necessary. There is a small playground for children and a laundry. Not much else. Right next to the highway with numerous gas stations nearby, including TA, it is ideal for an overnight stop. In addition, there is a Walmart across the street. There are also a lot of restaurants in this tourist trap of a town.

Being next to the highway does come with traffic noise. Also, there is a busy train track nearby. The noise didn't bother us inside the motorhome though.

The sites share a common power and water island and are very close together. It's not a place where you would want to spend a lot of time. It is very convenient for an overnight stop.

The owner is very nice, and there is a free DVD movie library.

We would not hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Just across the bridges, to the right, is what may be the grandest small town tourist trap of all time. Well, second to Wall Drug Store. Overall, I thought the place dull.

We stayed at Sunflower overnight on a trip west. It was conveniently situated just off I-80. That entire area of the state of Nebraska had been ground zero for massive storms in the days prior to our arrival, so limbs and some debris were still being removed. The owner/host who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. He explained where we would go in the event of a storm. He showed us to our site which, like all the others, was a gravel pull-through. It was long enough for our 45' rig plus our towed Nissan Xterra. We spent a comfortable night, the sound from the highway was noticeable, if you were outside, or maybe if you had windows open. It is July, we had air conditioning and did not hear a thing. There was plenty of space to walk our dog, even though they did not have a designated "dog park". The campground does have several teepees which have queen beds and other accessories. Very cute! We will stay there again and can recommend it. Walk-Mart just a stones-throw away, if you need your Wal-Mart fix. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

We stayed a week at Sleepy Sunflower so that we could travel the Oregon Trail and visit historic sites along the way. The park owners are very nice hardworking people who live on site. SSRVP is a small park with gravel roads and sites, however our 45' motorhome fit just fine. Sites are level and close together. They don't allow much room between for lawn chairs. With that being said, the owners did not place anyone next to us, our site was a buddy site so very close quarters, 1 night only we had a neighbor. It was very tight with two big motorhomes. Most of the parks guests were in overnighters. The park itself sits right off I-80, so easy on off access, and right next to a TA truck stop. The road noise got to be bothersome. Additionally, there are trains running through the area and some of the conductors took great pride in blowing their horns and waking people at all hours, 4 AM seemed to be a favorite. These last comments are given strictly for information as there is nothing the owners and do about road or train noise.

Over all we like the park and the owners and will stay again when we pass through the area. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss Ogallala's Petrified Wood Museum, it is amazing! Harvey, a Korean War Vet and one of the artists was on site the day we visited what a wonderful guy is. (Harvey and his twin brother are the petrified wood artists and gave their art and the museum to the city of Ogallala.) Harvey spent lots of time explaining the process of working with petrified wood, showing us different types wood, etc.

Best burgers ever at the Open Range Grill, Ogallala!

We stayed one night while passing through and it was a nice little park and a bargain at $17 which is the PA rate. It was clean and the owners were friendly. The sites are close together but it was fine for overnight. There is a small, grassy dog park at the back of park which was adequate and clean. Wifi worked fine for us. We would stay here again. The park owners were super, we had an awful storm which blew a camper's tent off it's site and the host helped them to retrieve it and got it put away until the storm passed. They are certainly here to serve. The park has nice pull throughs (our site was gravel and open) with easy access and everything was well maintained. We camped at Sleepy Sunflower RV Park (formerly Open Corral Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.
