Overall Rating:
Can't rate the cleanliness because the restrooms were closed. It was a very cold day when we arrived - snow on the ground - which was very atypical for mid-April. I bet this park is fabulous in the summer and we really have no complaints about our site - we were given a back in right on the banks of the Missouri River. Out biggest complaint was the indifferent reception we received by the couple running the camp check-in. In fact we got a more friendly reception by the 2 residents that were in the camp office! This was completely different than when my wife called Katie, the hostess, 4 days before we arrived. Katie treated my wife very well and even called back 2 times to clarify reservations. So, we are not sure who was running the office when we checked in on 8 APR 2018, but Katie may want to have a chat with them :)
If you can reserve them, sites 3, 4 & 5 are probably the best sites in the park! Water is winterized and heated so if you have a heated hose, you should be good to go even if temperatures get into the teens. We
camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a city park and I wish all cities had an RV park like this one. It's located in South Sioux City, NE which is just across the Missouri River from Sioux City, IA. The park has a gate that is closed at night. You must call to make a reservation. The woman on the phone was pleasant. It was easy to find following Google map instructions. The roads in the park were easy to navigate with good signage to locate the site. The site was a pull-through and was level gravel. There is not a dog run but lots of area to walk on leash. A side note....Liquor is sold in grocery stores in South Sioux City and is a good price. :) We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was a quick overnight stop for us. We would stay there again and/or spend more time if we were actually visiting this area. I would advise supervising children closely as this is a city park, right in town with open access. No restaurants or grocery stores within walking distance. There was a pretty view along the river. Some long term residents. Sites were clean, management helpful & the hookups were efficient. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our third visit to this city park. We picked the site we reserved for views of the river and because it was a pull through. The site was level and spacious. Cons: Filthy fire ring, which was obviously not cleaned out by staff, it was full of cigarette butts and pop tops. Nice walking/biking bath along the river, but trash all along the way. Other rude campers not picking up after their pets because numerous piles of poop. A picnic table along the river was covered with mud, dirt and trash and was never cleaned off the four days we were there. Their reservation and office procedures need improvement as someone drove in and took our site and then left and the office was unaware until we went back to tell them we couldn't get in our site. The office indicated this happens frequently. So procedures definitely need some improvements. Pros: sites are decently spaced, most are level or mostly level, fire rings and picnic tables, electricity worked fine as did water and sewer, some pull-through, majority back-ins, many with nice shade, others with good views of the river. If the office had a better reservation procedure and monitored arrivals and cleaned sites after being vacated I would probably mark this a 9 out of 10. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the better campgrounds we stayed at on our trip west. . Friendly staff and helpful. Site was on the Missouri River. Beautiful setting. Full hookups, all worked very good. Wifi was very strong and fast. Would stay here again. Great value for the money. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Low hanging tree branches, narrow roads, and steep curbs which you must back over to get in to your site. The wireless internet is at 1mb or less. The park is clean and appears well managed. If you can tolerate the above problems, then it is OK for a visit. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

View of river if rv not parked in front of us. Walking paths along river. Bike paths just outside the park. Appear to be some longterm campers. The temperature was way above normal so it was fortunate that we had a mostly shaded site. Staff was friendly and helpful. Outside the park just down the road was the Vietnam Veterans War Memorial replica. We located a friend from high school. In that same area is a wonderful huge dog park. Frustrated with wi-fy. Even sat outside to try to pickup a signal which worked for a time. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here as an overnight stopover and wished we had more time there! The park was so well kept and our spot was wonderful! We were there on a week night so the place wasn't busy and was very quiet. Being on the Missouri river was a nice bonus! The highway across the river didn't really bring any extra noise over the river so no bother there. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Located right on the river. Full hookups with good electric and good quality water. We only stayed one night but I don't remember any amenities such as rec room or pool. There was a nice walking path down to the soccer fields and along the river. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 5 days at this municipal RV Park. I like the key pad entry into all restrooms in the Park. This is a large Park along the Missouri River with walking Trails and bike paths. A visit to Freedom Park leads to a Viet Nam Memorial similar to the traveling Wall with all 58,000 KIAs. We'll stay here again when visiting relatives in SC, Iowa. Price reflects five night stay. Interesting when making a reservation. Can't make reservations on a pull-thru site. It's first come first get. Can make reservations on a back in with electric, water and if a FHU pull-thru site is open when you get there can up grade to that. Skinny paved interior roads. Has gravel sites. Was raining so lots of water around the pedestal and where the sewer hose connections. Sites to the west have trees, sites to the east don't. Allows campfires. Has speed bumps. Road noise and train horns. Great Cable TV and Wi-Fi worked 20% of the time. Easy in, easy out with a 60 foot combo. We camped at Scenic Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
