23 Parks near Venice, Nebraska
Jul 2016 - $23.00
Great state park. Had reservations and it was a good thing, it was booked up. Visiting friends and family, park is convenient to Omaha. We had a handy cap stop which was really nice. All sites in this park are back in. Had a little trouble getting the satellite going, alot of trees, but managed. Really nice place, lots of little lakes to fish in, and a nice swimming beach. Will definitely stay here again when in the area. - Travelin Jenkins
Jun 2015 - $23.00
We booked a spot in advance, online, that had water and electric hookups. We were in #037. We were not far from the dump station, so it wasn't too much trouble to use it when we needed. We stayed 4 days, 3 nights.
Since we were visiting friends that were staying in Omaha, we drove into the town frequently. It was about 25 minutes drive. We did not check out any other part of the park. It was very pretty. The spots were kept level and had plenty - plenty - of space between each one.
When we arrived and checked in, the girl told us that the day before they were having problems with the dump station. She didn't know if it had been fixed and suggested that the next closest one to use was in either Fremont or Yutan. Having come a long way, we were a bit discouraged, but we decided to check out our spot first.
In the hopes that maybe the girl was wrong, my husband decided to make sure the information we were given was correct. Turns out, there was no problem with the dump station at all. We were delighted! I would definitely stay here again. - Christina O
Sep 2013 - $18.00
Strange park but beautiful area, right on the river. We pulled in late on a Friday night, never have we pulled into a state park to be greeted by 3 park rangers. Out of concern we asked if we should be concerned about anything and the kind ranger said no, they're just there to keep the peace. One ranger had his truck parked in the way of the entrance and didn't move his truck so we could pull through, we had to maneuver through the exit. We found the area we had reserved, the Cottonwood. It's just one big loop. You don't back into sites, you park right there on the road! It was tight pulling our 5th wheel through the area. Luckly we had reserved a spot on the LEFT side of the road othewise we would not have been able to open our slides! Our door opened to the road. The park was packed and there was music playing well past midnight. The bath house was AWFUL! The showers were creepy. Doesn't look like they have ever been updated. We were here for a sporting event and had to be up at 5:30am and didn't get back until late in the evenings so we were unable to explore the park. I don't know if we'd come back here in the future. I prefer to support our state parks but something just wasn't right about this one. Our state is making cut backs and closing some of our parks early this fall, when you see 3 rangers working late in the evening at 1 park it makes you wonder what kind of people the area attracts. - Mom2Two
Sep 2016 - $30.00
This place is a dump. I hardly consider this place an RV Park of any kind. Junk is stored/stacked up throughout the grounds. The RV Spots are a complete afterthought, no dumps locations at all. No sewer dumps, $10 fee and they will use a portable trailer to remove black water. You are instructed to dump grey water on the ground! Never in my years of camping have I seen something this low class. At best, this place is for tent camping, RV'ers beware and don't waste your time here. - Campers4Life2016
Sep 2015 - $35.00
Lots of drama with the employees fighting getting drunk and yelling right in front of us and everyone else. We will never step foot in this campground again. If you like smelling and watching kids smoke pot, drink alcohol this place is for you. The place is set up for tents mostly and about 10 spots for RVs; there is no WiFi, shower or bathrooms, just portables. The campground was at least kept clean. - Mississippifam
Aug 2015 - $30.00
This is primarily a weekend, tent camping location. On many weekends they have entertainment. The weekend we were there it was very quiet. We were one of six RVs. 30 amp power was fine, and shared water supply worked. A hole in the ground provided dump for grey water. To dump black water you had to arrange a removal service which required $10 fee. The owner, a very nice guy, is still learning about RVers. If you are looking for services, facilities, WiFi, etc this is not for you. We choose it because of location, and it was fine for three nights. - Ncw
Oct 2016 - $38.00
Very pretty flowers and grounds-well cared for.
Nice clean kids play area with jumping pillow, swings, zip line, mini golf and sandbox.
Clean bathrooms and showers and laundry next to office.
Your trash is picked up daily-just put trash bag it in front of campsite.
Nice treed sites with hookups.
Some sites have a concrete pad or wooden deck and some have patio furniture.
All had picnic tables and an outdoor light.
Quiet time from 10pm to 8 am which is appreciated.
Everyone was helpful.
We spent 4 days there to visit friends in Omaha. - Guysmith1
Sep 2016 - $35.00
A very nice KOA. Sites are very close together, but most are "big rig" accessible. Even with completely full CG, power was a full 120v. Tenengo wifi, usual campground speeds (good during off hours, almost unusable during peak periods). Friendly, very helpful staff. Sites reasonably level. Enhanced playground for kids. On site pizza delivery! - Flapper
Aug 2016 - $42.00
Very pleasant place to stay while visiting Omaha for relative's wedding. I've stayed here many times in the past and have always been pleased with the facility and staff. I highly recommend this campground to my friends and family. My grand kids loved the KOA campground. - ColoradoTerry
Sep 2016 - $8.00
CASH only at this Omaha City run CG. Tough call on rating this place. It was a dust bowl the day we arrived. Our toad had a layer of dust so thick we could not see out of the windows. I had to dump a bucket of water on the windshield before unhooking it. That was just from the drive in and locating a site. Lots of fast moving traffic within the CG keeps it dusty. After an afternoon of rain, things got much better. Sites are either RV sites or tent sites. The RV sites have red topped number posts, the white topped posts are tent sites. Sites vary from level to very sloped, the closer to the water the more level they are. These water sites come with plenty of geese droppings included. The site we had was filthy and the grass around it was long overdue for mowing. That was true of most of the sites. I also checked the men's bathhouse and it was pretty disgusting. Glad we did not need to use them. Being a FCFS CG, people start coming in during the week to pick their site. We came in on a Thursday afternoon and lots of sites had trailers on them that had been left earlier in the day. 30 amp electric was good for our four day stay. Water is available on the way in at the dump station and in various locations within the CG loops. The price and location here add to the value. The locals seem happy with things as they are. It is a nice cheap CG close to the city. But they really do need someone here to keep an eye on things. There is no excuse for people to come in and leaving the sites in such a mess. Hundreds of cigarette butt's littered the ground, beer bottle caps, etc. But the place works ok for a pit stop along I-80 in the Omaha area. - Bob and Inga
Jul 2016 - $8.00
Campground is still a great place to stop in the Omaha area. Problems with water noted in an earlier review had been resolved by the time we stayed here. Sites were clean and well-maintained. Sites on the lake are most popular, but all of the sites are large and have shade. Will stay here again when we come back to Omaha. Park accepts the Federal Government's Senior Pass, so rate is half off, if you have one. - Bobbi1948
Jun 2016 - $15.00
Beautiful spot but they need a campground host with a rake and a garbage bag. Spots had garbage floating about and the fire rings were clogged. Our site was littered with cigarette butts. Too bad as the view is nice and most spots are shaded, just no one there to keep an eye on things. NO water while we were here as well, (had tested positive for coli). Only pota potties. - AdrianaW
Aug 2016 - $16.00
This is a nice park and a good value. It was very clean and the site spacing is good. I had a back in site and there was plenty of room for our MH and toad. - Flyertx
Jun 2016 - $16.00
We love camping at this clean, tranquil park. The views are serene, and the hiking/biking trails are excellent. - Luv-2_rv
May 2016 - $16.00
Beautiful park and lake. Slabs are 50 ft long for RV's and tents. It was Memorial Day weekend, and we luckily got one of the last spots. When you arrive, register with the camp host, they take cash or check only. No showers. Grass and small trees to separate the sites, but there are no low lying branches to scrape against. The park is in a nice/newer area of town with shopping. Gates close at 10 pm so hopefully you don't have any plans to go out to dinner or see a movie while you're in Omaha. - cherrytree
Aug 2016 - $15.00
Visited this campground a couple of years ago and came back because it's a good place to stop in Fremont. Cost is very reasonable, especially considering other campgrounds in the area. Only 2 other campers were in the campground, so we had plenty of room to roam. Sites are close together, but that is not usually a problem since the campground isn't used unless there is an event in the arena.
Baseball and soccer fields were close by, so we watched the kids play for entertainment. - Bobbi1948
Sep 2015 - $15.00
Large, level, graveled parking lot with water (2 connections) and electric hookups (50 and 30 amp receptacles). No trees. Dump station is on site. 2 porta-potties in the center of the lot. Great water pressure at our site. Some sites had a picnic table. Large parking lot to the east would be useful for kids to ride their bikes but you won't be able to see them. Huge soccer fields to the west. Horse riding area to the north and baseball playing fields further north. Wide walking path down to the train tracks and along the tracks. No traffic noise from lightly traveled street. There is an airport next door but I never heard one take off or land. - Pat Engle
May 2014 - $15.00
This is a good campground if you just want to park for the night or nights while you are busy elsewhere. It's really just a parking lot that was set up with hookups for campers. The good news is that you get both water and electricity. It's also cheaper than the nearby state park and there is usually a site available. - Bobbi1948
Jun 2012 - $15.00
Currently closed due to flood damage. - peakcomm
Jul 2007 - $12.00
City owned park with on site hosts. Close to Omaha, so heavy use, especially on weekends. Located near the Missouri river so lots and lots of activity on weekends. Lots of shade trees and some sites that are not so close together as others. Restrooms and showers are older and not well maintained. Generally, an nice place to stay for a few days with weekdays being better than weekends. - marker82
Jun 2006 - $12.00
This is one very nice county campground that is RV friendly. Very clean and quite with large sites. Lots of fireflies and deer to watch in the tree line. Missouri River is across the parking lot. No reservations so week-ends can be problem. Work campers run the place, but they were very friendly and helpful. - Zimectrin
May 2013 - $17.00
A new SRA in NE, $17 per night with electric for a gravel pad ($13 for grass site with electric). Very nice restrooms with pay showers. Camped there after heavy rains during Memorial day weekend and the restrooms/showers were muddy from folks tracking in mud. However, staff cleaned the restrooms frequently. After crowds left, restrooms were in excellent shape. No trees as it is a new area. Would camp there again. Within ~1 mile of Wahoo, NE where all services are available. - katinfoco
May 2016 - $20.00
This is a very busy campground. On weekends it is difficult to drive through because of all the cars parked along the road, and because of the placement of the dump station in the Pathfinder campground. Campsites are pretty well spaced out. Most are large enough for a camping unit, a car and a boat, but the park is so close to town, there are a lot of visitors who also need a place to park. Because of all the traffic/use, the grass is pretty thin in most spots. Still, we will stay here again during the week, when it is much quieter and easy to get out on one of the lakes, etc. The staff is friendly and helpful and the park is well-maintained. There is some train noise, but it is usually quiet at night. - Bobbi1948
Sep 2013 - $23.00
Rate includes out of state $5.00 fee.. Really poor signage. Got lost in a subdivision. Once there, people were very nice, showed us where to go on their map. Only a few pull through sites. Stayed day after Labor Day, so park clean-up was really needed. Flies everywhere. Must be their state bird. Could not sit out that evening; way too many flies. - tom3817js
Sep 2012 - $18.00
We spent 4 nights. We looked on-line and found a 50 amp site that would accommodate our rig. We stayed there Wednesday through Saturday, and since we are self-contained, we didn't use the showers. Although I looked at them. They were clean and spacious, but very dark and you had to pay for the showers. I loved the quiet atmosphere during the week. The trains were close, but we sleep with a fan, so the noise was not a problem. For the price, I thought this was an excellent park and would stay there again. The lakes were small, but beautiful. We had a family reunion there and were able to rent their new Rec Room. The ranger was very accommodating. - mnmwillis
Sep 2016 - $22.00
Very nice park. Beautiful lodge. Walking trails and other things to do. Good spacing on paved sites. Pretty good WiFi coverage. Would definitely stay here again. Good 4g AT&T coverage. - Around the Bend
Sep 2015 - $27.00
Stayed for two nights. This park is our favorite when visiting family in the Omaha area. Lots of activities, sites are nice, mostly shaded, RR are clean. Good value. Don't visit on a Husker football weekend. CG is full by Thurs. without reservations. - Dennis D
Jul 2015 - $20.00
We stayed at Mahoney for a few days. The site was mostly level and there was plenty of grassy space between sites. The entire campground was very shady with established trees. The restrooms and showers were clean. We had electric, but no water or sewer. There was a dump station conveniently located on the way to the campground. There are lots of fun activities for the family, swimming, putt putt, horseback rides, paddle boats, fishing, hiking, and more. We will definitely stay here again. Great destination spot. - idahogirl
