Previously you checked in at the bar. New owners have taken over and closed the bar and have renovated the check-in area. The owners are very helpful and pleasant. We were escorted to our site. It is shady and sits on a hill so the rains don't create flooding problems. They pick up your trash for you each day. We would go there as a destination now even though we don't know what is nearby. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
We highly recommend the gas station across the highway for their friendliness and prices.
Comments about the new owners working hard to improve the campground are spot on. Very pleasant folks. The $34 rate reflects price paid after Good Sam's discount for a spacious water/electric pull through site. Very convenient to I-80 and road noise was not a problem. I was led to my site and the owner made sure all was well before he left. I asked for a site that could receive satellite and I got one. I'd stay again if in the area. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.
New owners (March '14) appear to be working hard to upgrade this facility, and they were extremely willing to accommodate our needs. Example: no cable on site so requested satellite friendly site (lot of trees). Owner led us to site and waited to ensure we had signal (best to ask for satellite friendly site when reserving). Huge pull-through sites, firm gravel pad, very level, with grass between sites. Will return. More than happy to support young couple willing to work hard to raise family and fulfill their business dreams. Only negatives: a little noisy due to nearby interstate, and not all sites have sewer but no issue for us since we were only in for one night. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy to access from I-80 and maneuverable for our 44ft MH with car attached. As noted by previous reviewers, new owners are working hard to make steady improvement in the park. Internal roads are paved/gravel and a bit rough, sites are gravel and mostly level; several have a slope front to back but we were able to auto level the coach. The campground is really lovely and peaceful, despite it's location to the highway. There are sites that are satellite friendly and some that have older tree cover. We did not try the Wifi as we had adequate cell service. There is no defined dog park but the perimeter of the campground is grassy and a very nice walk with the dog. We would stay here again. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a older campground, and it needs a little work, but couple just bought it 5 months ago and you can tell they are working on it. Close to highway and that is nice but your can hear it all night. FYI if you are on the 80 West and your GPS says to turn right off the highway Don't do it - turn left and it's right over the bridge. Nice pool, play ground and laundry room. Showers are free and clean. Free WiFi and got DirectV at our site. ATT cell work fine. It's on a golf course, so pretty setting. Room for the largest of RV. Small store on bar on sight. I thought was a little high priced at $30.00 with Good Sam's. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

We intended for this to be an overnight stop but loved it so much we stayed for two nights. Friendly and helpful owners who are making many improvements to the park. You can tell they really care. Big rig friendly, lots of space for the slides, level gravel sites, green areas to walk the dogs (no fenced dog park, tho), comfy swings everywhere. WiFi was good enough for us. Driving out, we brushed up against some low branches (below 13'). Location is just off interstate so you can hear the noise but we all had a couple nights of great sleep so it didn't bother us. We would definitely return and hopefully stay longer next time. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

Under new owners, their first season. Very clean, restrooms are old but very clean. Wonderful breeze. Road noise but we ran our fan and it didn't bother us. There is shade on almost every site. Also a golf course next to campground. Has a camp store with some groceries. We would definitely stop here again. Very nice owners. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Travel Trailer.
New owners of 4 weeks! They are making changes and updating the sites and facilities at a rapid pace. We had a nice, pull-thru site overlooking the golf course next door. Only issue would be if the park were full, the sites would be difficult to get in and out of. Plenty of places to walk a dog. All utilities worked well. Easy on and off. Would definitely stay again. Good luck. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.
New owners are upgrading park. Good-sized sites, gravel w/ grass between. Overlooks golf course. Easy access. Pool was being repaired. Owners are very friendly. When upgrades are complete, would rate a 10. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

I was traveling along I-80 in Nebraska and stopped here only because it was so windy I couldn't control my RV. When I checked in, the first thing the person behind the counter said was, "Storm shelter is over there." Ok. At least they have one. Decent park for an overnight stop. Easy on and off the freeway. Lots of trees for shade. Good spacing between sites. At the time of my stay, the park was hosting two groups. Thus, all I could get was a W/E site, not full hookup. This park is good for groups, as there is a swimming pool (not open when I was there), mini-golf, and children's playground. Great clubhouse where you can lounge and read books. Clean restrooms and showers. Laundry machines were "older" but at $1 to wash and 75 cents to dry, Throw some clothes on the ground to justify doing a full load of laundry. The person behind the counter mentioned that they were new owners and had purchased the park three weeks ago. This new owner also mentioned some planned changes to the sites. There are a lot of "front to back twosie" sites. They plan to convert some (but not all) of these "twosie" sites into very long pull throughs. If they do that, those sites will be so long, you could fit two Class A's and a tow car in one site. They let me stay in one of the "planned conversion" sites. So, I parked my RV right dead center just so I could say, "Neener neener, I get this twosie site all to myself!" The new owner also mentioned that if it's a very windy day, the park will fill up by 3:00 PM and doesn't matter what day it is. Thus, this park is an excellent location for getting the "passing through" RV travelers. Price was adequate for what you get. Price I am showing is Good Sam plus taxes. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.

One night only. Good Sam price. Gravel roads and sites. Good sized pull thru sites, but unable to use as a pull thru with our HDT and trailer. (60 ft. combo) Had to back out. Good electric, water and sewer. Excellent Wi-Fi. No cable TV. Didn't try to find any stations on the antenna. Interstate noise. Allows campfires. Had to close our windows. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $32.00
Very pleasant park. Store had good assortment of items and people were really friendly. Close to Hwy, but noise was not an issue. We didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and well cared for. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $30.00
Very nice park. Close to the freeway for convenience, but far enough that you hardly hear it. There was plenty of room for the toad. Was 100 degrees the day we were here - 50 amp worked great. Good Wi-Fi, friendly office staff. Would stay here again. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.
We stay here overnight as we travel I-80. Nice park, level pull-through parking spaces, well landscaped. Friendly. Easy access to the Interstate. No Passport America, but they accept Good Sam 10% discount. A little expensive since we did not have sewer at our site. We camped at Double Nickel Campground in a Motorhome.
