Made reservation in Feb. 2016 for a pull-through full hook-up including 50 amp service. Was led to site 16. Plugged into 4 prong connector in the box and flipped the breakers on. To my surprise I only had 30 amp service. The owner came down and ask if my a/c was working. I responded that only 1 would work on 30 amp.Said if I wasn't happy I could get a refund and LEAVE. It was the 4th of July weekend and I ask him where I could go. His response "that's not my problem". On his park map, sites that shows 50 amp svc at 17 sites but those with true 50 amp svc on both legs are only 7. If you stay here and need true 50 amp make sure you get sites 35-41 or you are SOL. Also the traffic noise from hwy 395 is relentless 24/7 regardless where you are parked. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I thought the place was overpriced for the ease of camping there. The park is older which is not a concern to me except that there is a very limited amount of space to navigate vehicles into. We have a 20' trailer and our space was very tight. It was a lot of back and forth to get the rig properly situated. There was no avoiding putting our truck into another person's space during the parking process.
The people were pleasant in the front office. The requirement to put a deposit on a bathroom key is outdated. A code system for the restrooms would be so much easier for all concerned. To get our deposit back, we had to leave after the office was open. Again not a huge issue but more of an inconvience.
I just think that the price of the facility did not match the amenaties. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Road noise was UNBEARABLE! But, with that being the main reason for the rating, the rest of the park was very nice. Office staff was superb; friendly and very helpful. The pool and gazebo area was beautiful, and the park was very clean overall. Propane service was fast and easy. If you choose to stay here, DO NOT accept any of the sites that border US395. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Road noise bearable, construction going on on hwy 50. Very clean, great staff, shown to several sites, was able to choose. Close to most everything. Would stay again. Was there for the world championship outhouse races. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

My rating of 4 is generous. The only plus is that the staff is friendly and helpful

Electricity is so poor our booster was on almost all the time; our site was narrow and not level; the pedestal is at the back so we had to use a 20' sewer hose, and the noise from highway 395 is very noticeable.

We definitely would not stay again. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park was perfectly located for our needs. We were spending a couple of weeks in Lake Tahoe with friends and had no need to take the RV up there so we stored it here. Then when we were ready to continue our trip, we hooked up in one of their sites to cool off our fridge, hit the nearby Costco, Walmart and Trader Joe's and we were on our way. The sites are nothing special, some quite angled but full hookups and access to bathrooms and showers if needed.

The staff we encountered were friendly and accommodative. The price reflects the location on Highway 395 in Carson City. We paid $38 for our night hooked up and $65 for storage which would have allowed us to store up to 1 month. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Right on Hwy 395 so road noise. Trees on the sites and many need to be trimmed so as not to hit the RV, but it's not a big problem currently. Very clean park. Paved roads, dirt/gravel sites that are normal size. Our site was pull-through and had full hookups with 50 amps. The park has a small store with a few grocery items, ice cream, candy, ice, RV supplies. There is free Wi-Fi and cable, they sell propane. Staff is very friendly and they guide you to your site and help you park. It has a pool and tennis court. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean. The showers are very large. It is right across the street from a casino that is very modern and has a bar and restaurant. The breakfast is good and reasonably priced. The park is right next to Costco and is RV friendly for getting gas (easy in and out for the big rigs or those pulling trailers). We'd stay there again. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Noisy, noisy, noisy. Right next to the highway and you hear noise all night long. Roads are narrow with many trees, several of which are unavoidable. One is right near the entrance. Very tight maneuvering for a long motorhome. The office was closed when we arrived. We drove through the back end of the park where there were many long term RVs, and several were very untidy. The camp host caught up with us as we returned to the office. We asked for a pull-through long enough that we wouldn't have to unhook. He took us to a spot that was entirely too short so we ended up unhooking the car. Sites are very close together, and we had to jockey the car sideways to avoid blocking our neighbor. We checked out the next morning which was fine. Much too expensive for what you get. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We arrived just after 3 PM and the office was closed. There was a person there to show us to a campsite but he was not very sharp. The campground was clean and neat. The water and power were fine. We did not try the wifi or cable. When we paid the next morning the person at the desk was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Centrally located park, next to Costco and an easy days drive to Lake Tahoe and Virginia City. Large sites with tables and some shade. The dog "run" is behind the park's fence running parallel to the freeway and needed a clean up. Feces underfoot in all directions. Perhaps if they supplied bags, it would be better. But that was the only real negative I found. Large cable line-up and good WiFi. Would stay here again. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed for one night while passing through. The owner is a really great guy, however there is a lady who checks you in who is very rude. The sites are kind of tight, but certainly do able. Wi-Fi worked great, all utilities were fine. They have a little racket that they work, so heads up. Basically they charge you $5 for a key to the bathrooms, and when you leave you give the key back and get your $5 back. If you do not take the key, you don't get your $5 back; we found this out the hard way. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for six nights. The owner checked us in and was very nice. The sites are small; we stayed in the front of the park, by their storage row. Water (taste and pressure) was excellent. Their Wi-Fi was the strongest and fastest we have had in quite some time. The cable (which included HBO) was very poor in quality. The location of the park (395 & 50) was very convenient to stores and casinos. Due to this location, road noise was LOUD. It served our needs; but, I would probably not return - other options in the area. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Good campground for the money. Cost per night is all inclusive - no hidden fees. Sites are a little narrow, but doable. Right at intersection of 395 and 50 - convenient to everything. Very friendly staff/owners - owner escorts you to your site. Busy park, and has some road noise, but not overwhelming. Would definitely return here again. We always stay at this park when in the area. It is nicely maintained and the staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. It is located close to shopping, gambling, restaurants, and within an easy drive to Tahoe. We will be back. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Staff extremely courteous & helpful, escorted us to site; cut off branches that might rub against slides. Were here in a pull through for 5 nights in a 40 ft RV in front lower section. Water pressure good; gravel site level with picnic table on concrete slab. Excellent location to restock supplies and to take day trip to Lake Tahoe. Front sites very near 395 so road noise was constant and motorcycles especially loud. Would stay here again as a trade off of location vs noise.
