Overall Rating:

I might have rated this campground a little too high according to some of my fellow RV'ers, but ratings are based on experience and I had a very good experience . First of all we're 65 foot long with the car trailer, the lady at the front desk was very very efficient got us in and out of there in no time we parked up the hill on an outside spot and are turning radius for getting out was probably the best you could expect in a park that is in some areas very tight. As far as cleanliness in this park has a lot of what I call work campers people that are staying here extended time not permanent but you're working in the area and leave early come in late and do their thing and the park is maintained very well you wouldn't know it and less you were aware that this was going on. Truthfully I had not been back to this park in over 25 years it has made some drastic improvements . Did not use the laundry room or the bathrooms but everything appeared from the outside very tidy and neat looking the asphalt was very clean it just had a well-kept appearance . I would stay here again if in the area I always used the gold dust when in the area but I would stay here instead. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Good park with sloping sites. I almost had to use blocks as the side to side slant was just about near the end of my stabilizing jacks. Power was good and the road noise was ok. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Nevada State Museum was excellent. We visited for a couple of hours, stopped for lunch, and came back for more. Varied exhibits inside the newer section and the old historic US Mint building. Cost was $8 / person.

This is a large RV park and set up quite nicely with shade trees all over. Interior roads are asphalt and the space we had was pretty level gravel. Had good shade and it was plenty long for our 37' motor home and tow vehicle. We enjoyed our 2 night stay here and visited the casino across the street having 3 good meals there at reasonable prices. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Good location, friendly people. Park grounds needed care. Looks like no one cares too much about it. Mostly full timers there. Would stay again if passing through. Very quiet, nice pool. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Clean facilities, friendly staff, mostly long termers (75%). Across the street is Costco. Lots of highway noise, but some mitigation from noise by highground and fences. Very busy corner, but convenient at intersection of Hwys 395 and 50. Spent one night on way through to Reno and beyond. Camp store with limited supplies and ice. Wifi in office at nice break area. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Can't believe the good Sam rating for this rv park. Mostly permanent residents, at least 75%. Sites for rvers are the worst, dead rats in the site, some with many stickers and thorns on site, had to carry pups from rv to truck. Sewer connection is up hill. Dog park is a field. Over priced at $44.00 a night, no discounts were given. Traffic noise from 395 is all night long. Won't stay here again. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

I thought the place was overpriced for the ease of camping there. The park is older which is not a concern to me except that there is a very limited amount of space to navigate vehicles into. We have a 20' trailer and our space was very tight. It was a lot of back and forth to get the rig properly situated. There was no avoiding putting our truck into another person's space during the parking process.
The people were pleasant in the front office. The requirement to put a deposit on a bathroom key is outdated. A code system for the restrooms would be so much easier for all concerned. To get our deposit back, we had to leave after the office was open. Again not a huge issue but more of an inconvience.
I just think that the price of the facility did not match the amenaties. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Made reservation in Feb. 2016 for a pull-through full hook-up including 50 amp service. Was led to site 16. Plugged into 4 prong connector in the box and flipped the breakers on. To my surprise I only had 30 amp service. The owner came down and ask if my a/c was working. I responded that only 1 would work on 30 amp.Said if I wasn't happy I could get a refund and LEAVE. It was the 4th of July weekend and I ask him where I could go. His response "that's not my problem". On his park map, sites that shows 50 amp svc at 17 sites but those with true 50 amp svc on both legs are only 7. If you stay here and need true 50 amp make sure you get sites 35-41 or you are SOL. Also the traffic noise from hwy 395 is relentless 24/7 regardless where you are parked. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

My rating of 4 is generous. The only plus is that the staff is friendly and helpful

Electricity is so poor our booster was on almost all the time; our site was narrow and not level; the pedestal is at the back so we had to use a 20' sewer hose, and the noise from highway 395 is very noticeable.

We definitely would not stay again. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Road noise was UNBEARABLE! But, with that being the main reason for the rating, the rest of the park was very nice. Office staff was superb; friendly and very helpful. The pool and gazebo area was beautiful, and the park was very clean overall. Propane service was fast and easy. If you choose to stay here, DO NOT accept any of the sites that border US395. Overall Rating:

This park was perfectly located for our needs. We were spending a couple of weeks in Lake Tahoe with friends and had no need to take the RV up there so we stored it here. Then when we were ready to continue our trip, we hooked up in one of their sites to cool off our fridge, hit the nearby Costco, Walmart and Trader Joe's and we were on our way. The sites are nothing special, some quite angled but full hookups and access to bathrooms and showers if needed.

The staff we encountered were friendly and accommodative. The price reflects the location on Highway 395 in Carson City. We paid $38 for our night hooked up and $65 for storage which would have allowed us to store up to 1 month. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Right on Hwy 395 so road noise. Trees on the sites and many need to be trimmed so as not to hit the RV, but it's not a big problem currently. Very clean park. Paved roads, dirt/gravel sites that are normal size. Our site was pull-through and had full hookups with 50 amps. The park has a small store with a few grocery items, ice cream, candy, ice, RV supplies. There is free Wi-Fi and cable, they sell propane. Staff is very friendly and they guide you to your site and help you park. It has a pool and tennis court. The bathrooms are exceptionally clean. The showers are very large. It is right across the street from a casino that is very modern and has a bar and restaurant. The breakfast is good and reasonably priced. The park is right next to Costco and is RV friendly for getting gas (easy in and out for the big rigs or those pulling trailers). We'd stay there again. Noisy, noisy, noisy. Right next to the highway and you hear noise all night long. Roads are narrow with many trees, several of which are unavoidable. One is right near the entrance. Very tight maneuvering for a long motorhome. The office was closed when we arrived. We drove through the back end of the park where there were many long term RVs, and several were very untidy. The camp host caught up with us as we returned to the office. We asked for a pull-through long enough that we wouldn't have to unhook. He took us to a spot that was entirely too short so we ended up unhooking the car. Sites are very close together, and we had to jockey the car sideways to avoid blocking our neighbor. We checked out the next morning which was fine. Much too expensive for what you get. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We arrived just after 3 PM and the office was closed. There was a person there to show us to a campsite but he was not very sharp. The campground was clean and neat. The water and power were fine. We did not try the wifi or cable. When we paid the next morning the person at the desk was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We camped at Comstock Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.
