Koa's are proving disappointing on so many levels. This by far was the 'best' koa we ever stayed in. Impossible to find with GPS; far enough out of town and off hiway to make it decently quiet; small but clean dog run; pull thru sites are adequate typical gravel sites and suitable for a night; some sites even have the odd tree. Unfortunately this Koa is tired and very dated - their bathroom/showers are archaic and in desperate need of fixing up and updating. When we arrived I was chilled and wanting a nice hot shower so I risked it - the lights went out while i was toweling off and it is cramped and pitch black in there not a pleasant experience at all. The park hosts/managers were great and very accommodating, yet they cannot make up for the sad and shoddy conditions. For what we were/are charged at Koa's we rip up our card, and from now on will use rvparkreviews.com to plan layovers. We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

While usually not a fan of KOA, I found this park to be exceptional. Gravel sites, but all were level and all are pull thru sites. Basketball court, horseshoes, volley ball, propane, laundry, showers and a really nice general store. Wi-Fi was very good, better than most. Super friendly staff. There is an attached ATV park. Each site has a picnic table and BBQ. Shade trees on both sides. Pet welcome packet when you arrive. Would highly recommend this park and would stay here again. Stayed for one night. Typical KOA (expensive for what you get) website advertises cable TV, but no cable available. Most sites are gravel, although some have grassy areas. Good news most sites are shaded, bad news is that the trees may block your satellite signal. Numerous over the air TV channels available from Las Vegas, Salt Lake City or Reno. Quiet and well maintained. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

Enjoyed this park so much that I stayed going both west and east. Large shaded sites with fences between, two dog runs with waste bags and very friendly staff. The cable was down, but there were OTA stations from Las Vegas, Reno and Salt Lake City. Good WiFi, too. Would stay here again. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $40.00
OK place if you need to stop in this area. Wi-Fi was strong. The sites are pretty short but most are wide enough. The sites all look to have a slope that is visible to the naked eye. Ours was impossible to get level. No grass at any of the sites and what grass is there you can't walk your dogs on. We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.Undo
Date of Stay: August, 2014 - $35.00
This is our preferred stop in the Ely area. Friendly hosts, clean sites although can be dusty at times. Television now is by air instead of cable but we did not attempt this. We will stay here again. We camped at Ely KOA in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

Everything about this park was positive and quality. Site roomy. Well kept grounds. Friendly staff. Nice store. Movie night, ice cream social (we missed but heard others talking about it), pancakes on Sunday (free). Would go here again. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

Nice park, great management. Restrooms are clean as is the rest of the grounds. WiFi is very strong. There is no cable TV, but an antenna pucks up some good channels. The park is very close to Ely and local attractions. We stayed for four nights and will return. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $38.00
The park worked OK for us for an overnight stay. Did not use the restrooms. Sites were fairly level and seemed to OK for big rigs. The pet area had some grass and was convenient. There wasn't much road noise overnight. We would stay again. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

Ditto to June 2014 review. Not sure where May 2014 review was coming from. Nice clean park with large sites - easy in/out. Nice views of mountains. I wonder about their obsession with dogs on "their" grass. There are signs everywhere. Why even have grass? Regardless, it's a nice place we would stay again. Date of Stay: June, 2014 - $40.00
OK campground. Most sites level with gravel and a few with small areas of grass between sites. Lots of trees with variable amounts of shade. Water pressure was low. WiFi was adequate but if a lot of people are using it, it could bog down. About 3 mile drive into town. Should note that they don't have a swimming pool, so don't plan on taking a cool dip on a hot summer day. There is nearby Cave Lake State Park which is beautiful and a nice place to visit and swim. Campground was quiet while we were there. We camped at Ely KOA in a Travel Trailer.Undo

We stayed here overnight. It was actually a pleasant surprise, as we aren't big fans of KOA. The staff was very friendly, the gravel sites were level and well spaced, the restrooms were clean and modern, and it was very quiet. The views of the white capped mountain was beautiful. As others have commented, the park gets scored lower due to no cable and very poor Wi-Fi. We would stay here again. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

We stayed six nights in our motor home. We had our three small dogs with us. Park was clean and staff was friendly. Check in was easy. Cable TV as advertised on website does not exist. Wi-fi was one of the worst we've ever encountered. We kept getting kicked off and it was extremely slow. One of the campground employees let his dog run loose throughout the park daily for long periods of time. His dog accosted our dogs while we were walking them, not once, but twice. The second time it occurred right in front of our coach on our site. Our dogs were always on leash as stated in campground rules. We saw at least two other dogs allowed to roam free throughout the park during our stay. For what is offered this place is way over-priced. Will not stay here again. Wish we hadn't purchased the VKR. Probably will not get much use out of it since we purchased it mainly to use here. Not a big fan of KOA due to pricing but it is the nicest of three in the Ely area. Will try one of the others from now on. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo

Extremely nice staff, nice campground, no privacy between sites but was empty when we were there. Very clean showers and bathrooms. We camped at Ely KOA in a Travel Trailer.Undo
Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $40.00
Nice clean park, with very friendly staff. Would have given a higher rating except there is no cable as advertised and Wi-Fi was very slow and kept getting kicked off. Local Salt Lake channels are available on antenna. Under the impression the lack of cable is an Ely problem and not the park. Sites are level and well spaced. Two nice fenced dog walks. The park is 3 miles from the town, so not too convenient to shopping. We camped at Ely KOA in a Motorhome.Undo
