Easy access, Large area. Both concrete and gravel sites. all pull thru. On site store and laundry. Very nice. Level and FHU. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ordinance Museum is very nice. Also Walker Lake is close by. The Army Depot is next to the town. Mono Lake is 45 miles away and Yosemite is 62 miles away.

This was our 3rd time stopping here passing through and it certainly fits the bill for doing that. All drive through sites, utilities are good, restrooms have been clean, people have been friendly. Some of the gravel sites take a little to get level but nothing real bad. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Everything the other reviewers have said holds true for this park. Staff are friendly and grounds are clean and well maintained. Our Verizon MiFi was strong, site was long enough for our 40' motorhome with tow attached, and wide enough for all 4 slides. There is a small book exchange in the store/office. This was our second time through and we'll definitely stay here again. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you are a geocacher, this is a good base to work the thousands of caches in the area. Overnighting? There are about two dozen caches behind the park in the old Babbitt town site, many are within walking distance. What a history this area had before, during, and after WWII.

In six years of being on the road every winter, this of the nicest parks we've ever stayed in. Concrete pads, plenty of room, very clean facilities, a general store and very friendly staff. The place is simply first rate. We stayed only on night during our annual migration north, but we'll be back the next time we are in the area. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Modern, clean, quiet at night, easy in/out on the edge of a small, quiet town out in the middle of nowhere. A former military ammunitions storage facility still dominates the landscape around there. Lots of ATV/ORV fans there with open, mountainous terrain all around. Lots of semi traffic on the highway as wee travel across central Nevada. Full services, little WiFi. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

An interesting small town with a few shops and a few restaurants. Lots of old and interesting buildings to see and plenty of old cars to admire. Full-service gas next door with easy access for large RVs. Fast-food shops there but for the most part, bring your own entertainment. Hawthorn is quite remote, but a lovely, mountainous vista all around. The RV park was very busy with overnight visitors, but quiet and restful.

This is a great park for an overnight stay or a base for a visit to the area. The staff are very friendly and the office/store/lounge is very nice. The park is very clean and the sites are large. There is a Safeway and Family Dollar next door. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Concrete sites, somewhat new, but very narrow and raised two inches above ground so one needs to be careful with your tire path.

Some hook-ups can have standing water after a rain, so be selective with your choice or it can be a muddy encounter. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pet friendly, yes, but don't take your dog on the grass? Strangest thing I have seen. You can run them on the gravel, the sand, the rocks, but keep them off the grass. Good services including Wifi, cable, clean and spacious showers. The Host was very accommodating to any questions. I would certainly stay here again. Being a dog owner, I had to drop it to an 8 otherwise it would have been a 9. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed overnight - really enjoyed this park! LONG concrete slots which accommodated our 45' Prevost and tow with no unhooking required. Utility hookups were convenient. The park is immaculate and the hosts are very helpful. Quiet park with easy entry and exit and located just off US 95. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone! Our rate reflects the Good Sam Discount. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park to stay for a few days if needed. Good rate with free Wi-Fi also. You can choose from sitting on a gravel site or drive up on a cement pad. We chose gravel as it faced south in the evening and didn't have the sun in our windshield. Office person very friendly and thanked us for our business. Would stop here again on our way south for sure. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Been here many times. It is the best overnight park between Vegas and Reno. Friendly staff, easy access off hwy, long pull-throughs - no need to unhook when towing. Convenient hook ups. Cable available for a few extra $$. One negative - trees are quite small, so little shade. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

Clean and lots of room on our site. Lots of places to walk dog, except for dog area which had some broken glass. Store was close. Good park for a day of rest from the trip. Once the trees get larger will be more shade. Store was well stocked. Will stay there again. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.

9/10 if using an 'overnight place scale'. Easy to find (right on the freeway), & easy sites to get in/out of. No problem with highway noise even though it's right off the main drag. Concrete pads, although narrow are nice. Wifi was decent. Close to fuel places, supermarket, and pizza joint. Bathrooms/showers were nice and they were clean--I normally won't use common shower facilities but had no qualms about using these. Would stop in here again for an overnight no problem whatsoever. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is obviously one of the newer parks in Hawthorne. It has cement parking pads and good cable TV. The Wi-Fi worked well until evening when it must have became busy. There is a picnic table at every site, a tree (small since park is new, but it will be nice and shady in a couple of years), good water pressure, and 50 amp hookups. The rate is based on a Good Sam discount. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 10 is because there is no pet walk designated and they aren't allowed on the grass. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Second stay here on our way north (see June 2013 review) Very clean, free wifi, TV. Concrete pad was about $2 more than regular gravel site - we went for the extras. Just as nice as it was the first time last year. Will stay here again, especially since there is nothing else. We camped at Whiskey Flats RV Park in a Motorhome.
