We found plenty to do from this nice BLM campground just down the road from the entrance to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. While this campground will appeal mostly to those who are tent camping or traveling in smaller rigs, we did see several 30-ish foot rigs that had found suitable spots. There are no hook-ups here and no dump station so come in with full fresh water tanks and empty holding tanks. The campground does have water spigots scattered throughout but you are not allowed to fill RV tanks from them. There are vault toilets - which are very well maintained and clean I might add. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring and some have a covered ramada too. Although the campground was fairly busy when we were there it was very quiet and peaceful at night. The road into the campground is well graded gravel but is not well marked from the highway. Watch for the sign that says "BLM Fire Station" and take it. The sign for the campground itself is located after you turn off the highway. Red Rock Canyon NCA offers many wonderful hikes and stunning scenery. We also enjoyed visiting the little community of Blue Diamond and Mountain Springs Ranch State Park. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Red Rock Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a clean, quiet campground. Sites are unshaded, non-level gravel in various lengths. Only sites 101-105 are really suitable for larger rigs. Each site has a picnic table and grill. Roads are gravel in fair condition with some large potholes. Generator hours: 6 AM to 10 PM.

I could sometimes get 1 bar Verizon 1x with an external antenna and booster, but usually nothing. There's usable Verizon LTE near the intersection of Highway 159 and Moenkopi Road.

Hosts are friendly and helpful. We camped at Red Rock Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Typical of a BLM campground. This is mostly a tenter's campground, with a lot of hikers staying here because of the many excellent hiking trails in the canyon. It has some spots big enough for motorhomes and 5th wheels, but the biggest problem is the lack of a dump station and any water fill stations. There is water available, but you are not allowed to attach hoses to outlets, so you need to come in with full fresh water tanks and empty grey and black tanks. Sites are gravel, but with varying levelness and size. Toilets are not flush and no showers are available, which I suspect might be a problem with hikers in hot weather! All in all, this is a good place for a day or two, but not a long stay because of the lack of water and a dump station. Also, almost no Verizon service in campground or elsewhere in park. We camped at Red Rock Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice staff, good sized spots. Very close to the amazing Red Rock canyons for hiking/climbing/biking. Heads up, there is no internet coverage, but some cell. Basic camping with toilets and a water tap every 4-5 sites. We've used it many times and will return in the future. We camped at Red Rock Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

BLM site for the self-contained. Some sites are tent only and others have table, shade, and fire pit. A few are RV only. Toilets are vault type! No showers. Some water faucets but no hookups. Generator quiet hours from 10 pm to 6 am. Closed June, July and August - it is in the 100s after all. It is close to the Red Rock scenic area (1 mile) and close to Vegas; 5 miles to Costco and civilization but is is on the other side of Vegas' western mountains so it is very non-city. No reservations. Good cell reception but it can get windy. We stayed here in a 40' RV which is self-contained so we found it fun. Great base for hikers or serious climbers at the Red Rock area. We camped at Red Rock Campground in a Motorhome.
