Large park, mostly pull through. Cement path to park on. Most level. Pretty much a parking lot but nice for overnight. Pleasant folks. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The staff is very friendly and professional and the park is clean. Although pets are allowed, it is not a very dog friendly CG. The dog park consists of two 10' x 10' fenced in spaces with no grass. There are 'No Dogs' signs anywhere there is grass throughout the park. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Clean, well-maintained rv park. There was a cement slab with gravel all around. Sites were kind of narrow and neighbors were close. Roads in the park were wide and easy to maneuver. Verizon service was good. We were able to get satellite service. We would stay here again. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Bodie State Park was a lot of fun. It was an old vacated mining town fro the late 1800's.

Rate listed is based on monthly rate, plus extra for electric. All sites have medium sized river-rock gravel with a cement apron at front and rear and two small cement strips on which to drive and park. We had to change our original pull-thru site as our leveling jacks just didn't fit right on the rock/cement configuration. Interior roads are narrow making it difficult to maneuver, but site sizes are adequate. Restrooms/showers clean. Cable requires modem box that you can obtain from the office for a $75 refundable deposit. Wifi was fairly reliable the first 2 days until Sat. am when it came to a screeching halt. It varies; sometimes pretty quick, sometimes too slow to use. Seems like a lot of permanents. Office staff and manager are very accommodating. No shade so pretty hot when we were there. Good location in Carson City area with all shops, restaurants, and a casino just down the street, and an easy short drive over the mountain to Tahoe. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is the 2nd time we have stayed in this park for a month. Very close to Virginia City, Carson City, and Reno. There seemed to be more full time rigs and dogs than previously, which was not a problem for us. Our major complaint was pool temperature which was so cold that even the kids went to the hot tub which was more the temperature that the pool should have been. We also had some problems with receiving mail through the office. Otherwise, we found this to be a decent place to stay while we toured the area. The Fandango casino, which is not far, has an excellent buffet and café with good values for your money. The Saturday farmer's market was worth a stop for tasty fruits and veggies. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Café at Gold Dust West offered good breakfast special. Bower's mansion north of town was definitely worth the visit. Virginia City offers history as well as gambling, a nice bakery and a candy store.

This campground has good sites with good hookups. The staff was friendly and helpful and guided us to the site. The only complaint I would have is that the wifi was not good. We were told that it was because of the number of people on, the storms in the area, etc. It has a nice pool and hot tub with a cover for shade. It is convenient to the highway and set back a bit with buildings in between. It has a gas station in the front making it convenient to fill up before leaving. This park seems well managed with friendly helpful staff. The driveways are wide and paved making access very easy. Everything was clean and neat the laundry room is large and equipped with many washers and dryers. The sites are level and paved with pleasing river rock around the picnic table. The cable worked well the WiFi was good early afternoon but slow in the morning and evening. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed here several years ago and remembered it as a good experience. This time we were a little disappointed though, mostly because of the terrible (almost non-existent) Wi-Fi connection. I understand that sometimes the management has no real control over just how good the Internet connectivity will be in a park. However, when we pay $42 (by the time tax was added on), we expect to either get Wi-Fi as promised or to have something taken off our bill. We got neither. The staff seemed indifferent to the inconvenience this caused us and blamed the problem on everything from"corporate" to the weather.

Billed as a "resort", this park has all the bells and whistles - gas station, propane, store, laundry, meeting room/lounge, slot machines, dump station, gym, spa, pool, fishing pond, off leash dog area, etc., etc. These are amenities we usually don't really need except for the showers and laundry. On the plus side, this is a very clean park and I really appreciated the spacious and immaculately clean restrooms and showers.

We will probably look for somewhere else to stay next time we're in the area. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in this area - Virginia City is well worth a day trip and the little town of Genoa with the oldest drinking establishment in Nevada is charming. Good historical museum in Carson City too.

Tips for other Campers:

Carson City is close by and the Nevada State Museum is great also the Capitol Bldgs and grounds are nice. Also Virginia City is only 25 miles away a very entertaining town. Lake Tahoe is about 40 miles away the 72 miles drive around it is beautiful. A lot of gambling casinos in the area.

Overall Rating:

We had driven past this park many times and seen it very full. We decided to try it out and see if it was really that much fun! There is no faulting the facility. Sites have close to level concrete runner pads that require little or no leveling. The park was spotlessly clean and had a handy store and very friendly and helpful employees. While we were there off season, there is a good looking pool (closed in winter), dog runs, rec rooms, etc. Would be a great park to turn the kids loose in. The only bad is the proximity to highway 395. The park sits by a section of 65MPH+ road and the mountains on the far side of the road only seem to make things louder by reflecting the noise. This is one of the noisiest campgrounds we ever stayed in. I imagine summer would be better if you were camping with your AC running to mask the noise but in cooler weather, it's bad. Trucks would hit the 'rumble strips' on the edge of the road and make a racket. I'd love to give this a 10 rating but can't. There is little shade that would make AC imperative in the summer. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The only reason I stay at this park is because it takes Passport America and there are times in the past that I had to use it because of convenience but no more. The park is noisy, has no shade and the wind blows through there at minimum of 40 miles an hour. Look, they do have some very nice amenities but not enough for me to stay there. Like I said if it was not for Passport America I would not stay there, there are so many other options in the area. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Second time we stayed here. First was about two years ago. It was OK but site wasn't long enough. This time we specifically told them we have a 38 foot long travel trailer and our truck and we didn't want to unhook for the overnight stay. When we arrived they tried to put us in a 40 foot space. When we pointed out the size of our rig they moved us to what they claim was 70 feet long long site, it is if you want 5 or 6 feet hanging in the road. Site was cement and gravel with a small tree and picnic bench. WIFI did not work, called office and they said they were going to send someone over to trouble shoot. He never showed up. When we hooked up the cable it didn't work, again called office. Then they tell us "Oh did you hook up the box? That requires a $75 deposit". They didn't mention that at check-in. I have the Rhino sewer line and could not screw in the adapter because they recessed the drain pipe in cement. They did provide some large rocks to hold down the sewer line. Over all very disappointed. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Occasionally we have to stay here but i only stay here when PA discount applies (starts Oct. 1st). This time we got the site right along Hwy 395, traffic noise was an issue along with the dust from the afternoon winds. The cable is free but a office person has to hook it up to the back of your TV with a refundable 75 dollar deposit (we passed on this). I will try to stay in other parks during the summer, but when the PA discount is in effect we will stay here. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is clean and well maintained. The sites are level concrete pull-throughs with large gravel areas and picnic tables. Very few trees on the premises. Personally, we like the lack of trees and grassy areas. No dust or mud problems. The lack of park cable is a downer and the Wi-Fi is quite slow unless you are at the front office area. We would stay here again. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Overall, this is a good park when traveling on US 395 through NV. All rock (not small gravel) sites were not appealing, and lack of shade made it uncomfortable in the afternoons. The wind blew every afternoon we stayed there, and without trees, there was no shelter. Laundry room and shower rooms were clean. We did not use the shower rooms, as security is always a problem when shower stalls only have a curtain, and no way to lock the door for individual safety. This might not be a problem for men, but women would appreciate a locked shower door! Small dog areas, with only dirt, but we were able to walk dog outside of park area for more exercise. Several long term residents, some that need to clean up their site, with dogs left tied up outside that barked when anyone walked by. Also, noticed several old RV's stored, or abandoned ? in spaces on the monthly section of the park. Would not recommend this park as a destination park, but is definitely good for a short stay when visiting the Carson Valley area. We camped at Silver City RV Resort in a Motorhome.
