VOF stands up to the rave reviews, location is stunning, sites are great, bathrooms/showers are clean and did i say the location is stunning? We didn't find too much trouble with sites not being level, the park is easy to get around in and there are quite a few pull thru's. The only problem, we found was folks with small rigs that could easily fit in any number of sites, taking a large pull-thru. Also several of the sites are meant for 2 rigs and folks taking the whole space. As this park grows in popularity, as it is, it would be nice if all of us rver's would keep others in mind. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

Wow! We loved this place. One of our favorite campgrounds. Enjoyed the rock formations that tower over the sites. In the morning a big horned sheep walked past our camp site. This is a State Park and not a campground but it does offer a loop that has water and electric. The bathrooms were not in great shape as one of the two stalls in the men's room was not working as was one of the two urinals. The campground did offer showers that while rustic, did work. The RV loop doesn't accept reservations and has a self check-in and pay station. The sites are well spaced apart with large beautiful rock formations between many sites. There are fire rings and picnic tables with coverings for shade. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A "hidden gem"! One of the most beautiful places we have stayed. Loved all the big rocks around us. The covered picnic tables were really nice and provided needed shade, but it really cooled off in the evening. The person at the entrance gate was super friendly, but it was 'first come, first served', and the lady on the phone was very unfriendly. The first site we tried was so un-level we couldn't stay there. Thankfully there was another one available that did work great. If you want wood for a campfire, be sure to pick it up at the visitor's center before you find your spot. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

The Basics: Roads and Sites are Gravel and can get dusty. Showers are excellent, private unisex bathrooms and showers. Sun shelter and picnic tables with grill and fire ring. The scenery around the campground is excellent. Lots of tent and dry camping sites. 20/30/50 amp with water at sites and dump station available. Verizon phone and MiFi work pretty well. The RV sites with power and water are huge and can accommodate the largest rigs and toads and there are a few pull throughs. All and all a most excellent campground. Good clean power with all the power sites full at 90 degrees with rigs running their AC and no power fluctuations. Except... The only sites that are close to flat are the handicap sites (several are available). If you come here plan on using all the play in your rig's leveling system plus some additional blocks. There was a 10.5" difference measured at the center line of my RR tire and the center line of my LF tire. I used 4.5" of lift on my LF tire, 1.5" on my LR tire, 3" on my Rf tire, and none on my RR tire before my air bags would level the coach. Sites are designed so all the hook ups are on the wrong side if you back in. Once you do manage to get your rig level or close enough you will find this an excellent CG with great facilities in a magnificent area. If you are a Nevada resident there are some discounts available. The pricing for the CG is $20 + and additional $10 if you have a site with power; this includes your daily entrance fee. Dump station just out side the CG. If you leave the site to explore the park you MUST leave something in your site to indicate that it's occupied. There was no host available on site. If we're in the area we sill camp here again. This is all first come first served so plan accordingly. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

I am hesitant about giving this campground a good review because I want it all to myself. It is one of the most beautiful and amazing campgrounds we have ever stayed in, rivaling some incredible national parks... but with hookups. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ah, our absolute favorite place to stay in Nevada. As Senior Nevada residents we bought a yearly pass that allows us free entrance and free camping. Only paid $10 a night for hookups. Came in Saturday of long veterans day weekend and all the signs said campground FULL. Drove through anyway and found someone leaving in our FAVORITE SITE. Right up against the red rock and so quiet. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Excellent stay. We arrived mid-afternoon in the 3rd week of October on a weekday prepared to find the campgrounds full and to have to go up the road 3.6 miles north of the entrance to VoF to boondock in an area that we had identified via Google Earth prior to our trip. Instead we found only the RV sites with utilities full and most of the rest available (though most were taken by sunset). BTW, the booddocking area to the north is public land and there's room for hundreds of RVs. There were a few dozen there when we drove past, saving the $20/night I suppose.

Most tent/RV sites have majestic backdrops. Our space in the circular are in Arch Rock Campground was 20' from a huge red rock wall that dwarfed our FV. I do wish we had explored the rest of the loop before choosing a site though the one we had was breathtaking.

The only downside was rude people driving too fast on the campground gravel roads and inundating us in fine sand. I suspect this problem would have been worse further along the loop.

The day temperature was in the low 80's in this 3rd week of October. The park was quite busy but we always found a place to park near the sights and hikes we wanted to take. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Do check out the visitor center. One can see most of the park in a one-day visit, but add hiking, and you could use 3 or 4 days.

This place requires a bit of extra traveling since it's off about 20-30 minutes off I-15, but it's a gorgeous area! The sites were plentiful this time of year, probably because it was about 110 degrees in the late afternoon. But, everything was clean and the site had all the hookups we needed (water & 30 amp power to run the air conditioner). Lots of rocks for hiking and climbing but practically no shade unless you can snag one of the spots in the shade of the rocks. There is a separate camping area for RVs ($20 to camp, extra $10 for hookups), but a couple more campgrounds available for tents. Despite the heat, the RV campground was about 1/3 full. Looks like all the RV sites have covered picnic tables and grills too. The RV sites do not have sewer but there is a good dump station available. Our site was large enough to accommodate two RVs (or an RV plus a trailer). I'd stay here for more than an overnight when the weather is cooler because the hiking opportunities look awesome. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed in the electric+water area in the Atlatl campground. It is certainly a scenic area and a nice campground, and we had a pair of bighorn sheep grazing just a couple hundred feet from our motorhome one day. The gravel roads are extremely dusty... by the time we pulled into a campsite our tow car was coated in dust/dirt. Almost all the sites we looked at were fairly unlevel... blocks under the wheels and jacks were necessary. Many sites are pull-in (instead of back-in), and there were a few pull-throughs. Some had their picnic area in the back of the site, others at the side of the site. We got there pretty early (noon) on a Sunday and were the only rig in the park so we had our choice of sites... by evening about 1/3 of the sites were occupied. Most of the sites have plenty of space between them, and have lengths suitable from a small class C to a 45' motorhome towing a trailer. There were warning signs that bees like to congregate around any water source, and we saw them at our spigot (which had a slow drip). We had solid 3G Verizon, and with our booster turned on we got 4 bars of LTE. AT&T was limited to Edge connectivity with and without the booster. Unfortunately it was 110 degrees during our short stay in June so we didn't get out and explore much, but we do want to return to the area in the future for a proper visit and will gladly stay here again. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

Massive RV spaces, each was unique, spaced generously away from the next, and tenters were not to use the RV loop. Beautiful scenery. Water and electric in sites, dump station nearby and convenient. Rate includes $10 park entrance fee. In high heat, be prepared to contend with bees at the water spigot. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

It is a first come, first serve park. We stayed at arch rock, the second RV-park. No hook-ups, beautiful spacious spaces between the red rocks. We used site 23, not quite level but very private. Bbq, fire pit and picnic table with a roof. Running water was provided.

We enjoyed the silence and the animals we have seen. At night little light pollution, so a good night sky view.

There was a central dump station with the only down side that there was no connection to flush your black water tank. And the waste bins at the campsite were scarse and quickly filled, luckily there was a large waste container at the dump station.

A better clarification of the payment system would be appreciated. If you enter the park, there is a self payment system (envelopes) and at the campsite there is one again. It would be nice if there was an explanation that you don't have to pay the park fee seperately if you camp here.

Otherwise, one of the loveliest places we have stayed! We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

This is first come first serve. There are 20 W/E sites in Atlatl campground (where we stayed), and they don't last. After reading other reviews, we heeded the advise and arrived by 10 am on Tuesday to get a spot. While spring is very pretty it is also very busy, so be prepared. Both campgrounds are beautiful and the sites are nicely spaced gravel. The restrooms and showers are older, but very useable. We loved this place and plan to return. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The campsites have spectacular scenery. Spacious sites with canopied picnic table, BBQ and fire ring. Our site had water and electricity. Dump station as you leave the campground. Bathhouse has individual showers and toilets. The campground was very clean but the bathhouses were a little shabby. First come first serve, so finding a site can be challenging. Not my first visit here and probably won't be my last. Scenery is so gorgeous it can't really be described. Two campgrounds, one, Atlatl Rock, has some hookups. I stayed in Arch Rock, no hookups, but beautiful campsites. As someone has already stated, sites 15 to 29, which branch off the main loop, are the choicest, i.e., the most private and scenic but all these were full so I got site 14, also very nice. The entry fee/camping fee process is a bit confusing and should probably be clarified so that campers can pay both entry and camping fees at one station. Didn't use the toilet facilities. There are water spigots scattered throughout the campground as well as numerous garbage cans. There is also a fresh water fill at the dump station. No Verizon signal.

Lots of beautiful hikes and scenic roads. Truly one of a kind. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful rock formations and some really nice and easy trails that are so visually interesting. I entered the price of $30; this is for electric sites. If you take a site without services it's $20. Outside the main campground they have some really cool spots that are more isolated. We camped at Valley of Fire State Park in a Motorhome.
