This is a small Nevada State campground right off of US-93. The sites within this campground vary. There are a few pull-thrus, a few designed for tenters and the rest are back-in sites. The interior road is on dirt and can get dusty if you drive too fast. All sites are also on dirt and have a fire ring and a picnic table with an awning. Fire wood was available for purchase. No camp host on duty. 50/30/15 amp electrical service is available at all sites. There are (3) threaded water spigots scattered around the campground. Dump station and fresh water is available as you enter state park. Within the campground there is one bathroom with a free shower per gender. Across the street is a group/picnic area along with a handicap site. This area was also used as overflow during our stay. This section has a couple of restrooms and coin operated showers. The campground was filled by 5 PM two out of the three days we were there. WiFi and cable was not available. Verizon air card reception was spotty. Some days we got reception, but mostly not. Verizon cell phone reception was good. We would come back to this park. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A great little campground. Combination of back in and pull through gravel sites off of a gravel road. All of the unoccupied sites had been raked and the interior road had no potholes or bumps. There are several water faucets scattered around so that you can fill up before you pull into your site or you can fill up at the dump station which is about 1/2 mile in from the highway. The faucet was close to our pull through so before we pulled all the way in we hooked up an extra hose and were able to fill up in our site without blocking the road. The sites are all sizes with a large metal canopy and table at each, a large metal hook to hang a light, a grill and a fire ring. Electric was good with reasonably new pedestal. Since we have a detached satellite dish there would have been no problem getting reception from any of the sites and if mounted on your coach I think most of the sites would still be able to get reception. There is pay for use wifi at the campground but Verizon data was 3G and very slow. Phone reception was good. The showers/restrooms were very clean. We arrived before noon and there were only 4 or 5 sites filled. When we left the next morning only 3 or 4 more sites were occupied. Good paved road all the way to the campground loop. The site we had was long enough to keep the tow attached but the electric hookup would have been a stretch. We detached before we got to the gravel loop so the tow wouldn't be covered in dust from the motorhome. There was plenty of room at most sites to park the tow either beside or in front/back of the coach. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Get to the campground early or spend an extra day to see the rock formations less than 1/2 a mile from the campground. There is also a 4 mile loop trail which we didn't take as it was quite warm in the middle of the day but looks like it would take you to some interesting places.

Really impressed with the obvious attention to care this park receives, we could tell all of the sites had been recently raked or graded. The fine dust in the air (not the park's fault) was our only complaint. Be aware that "Gorge" was a marketing term, it was originally Cathedral Gulch but got changed along the way. The caves within the park are a hoot to explore, mostly are slots in the eroded hills going back dozens to hundreds of feet. We liked the sites, the ramadas, and the option of electrical hook ups. Plus there were multiple hiking options from the CG area. The Visitors Center at the turn-off for the SP is worth a stop. Lincoln County Nevada has printed up a great array of materials for visitors. You can tell they appreciate having us explore the area. If you need Propane, the best option is Thomas Petroleum in Caliente. But they are only open Monday to Friday. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Travel Trailer.

There have been a number of improvements to Cathedral Gorge State Park since the last time we were here. The showers in both bathrooms have been remodeled, clean and quite usable. The park now has electrical service at all sites (20, 30, 50 amp) and the voltage was strong. Dry camping cost $17 and $27 for sites electricity.

The interior road and sites are on packed gravel. There are 4 or 5 long pull thru sites. The sites were fairly level with some adjustments front to back. The utility box was on the appropriate side. Threaded water spigots are scattered throughout the park but not at each sites. Each site had a fire ring, BBQ stand and a picnic table. The length of the sites varied. Dump station with potable water was located just beyond the visitor center.

Verizon cell phone reception was good, but Verizon air card reception was sporadic.

This is a beautiful campground surrounded by the cathedral gorges. We would come back to this campground. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Found this in Woodall's guide and loved it! Park is spacious and restrooms VERY nice for a state park setting. The bonus was getting to explore the windcaves and trails areas. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

I headed here on a lark because of the bad weather at Great Basin NP. I am sure glad I did. I spent 2 days in the park, it rained off and on but I was able to hike every trail in the park. The formations were extremely interesting but the trails were a little slick in places since the formations are mostly mud. I had brought my dog along and we hiked several miles a day.

The campground was quiet and VERY CLEAN. The rangers were friendly and helpful. The rate was$15 per day for locals on a dry camp and $25 for the added electrical hookups. It was also $2.00 more per day for out of state residents. Each campsite had a covered table, and fire ring. There were 3=4 pull through spots and the others were back in. Fire wood was also available for $4.00 per bundle.

I would bring a good camera and tripod if you are interested in the night sky. The stars were spectacular.

I plan to head back to take more star photos soon!! We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived around 4pm after having called and talked to Dawn at the State Park office. She followed us into the campground and suggested because of our size and the time of day that we park in the handicapped spot. We loved it, all cement and away from other campers. We kayaked at Eagle Valley Reservoir about 40 miles away and took a day trip to Lehman Caves. No one every bothered us or asked us to move even tho we camped there 3 days. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful park, very clean and well kept. It was self pay, we never saw a park employee. $27 was the out of state fee. We had water and 30 amp power. We got there at noon and it was half full, by 5 it was completely full. Big event coming, Dutch Oven Cook off. Park was still nice and quiet. Got up at 6 AM and hiked to the cliffs and watched the sunrise. Rivals anything I've seen. We would camp here again and stay longer next time. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Motorhome.

This was one of the cleanest campgrounds we have ever been in. We paid $10 extra because we were from out of state, but the total of $17 was very reasonable. This is an absolutely beautiful area, there was shade, lots of hiking and nice campsites. Definitely will stay here again. Well run state park. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Tent.

The nightly fee included the park entrance fee and the electric fee. Camped in site 16 which was a big pull-through site with a ramada over the picnic table. Clean and quiet place to camp for a couple of nights. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here one night on our way home from Moab. The campground is OK. Sites were on the small side, but we got a pull through which was one of the few left. National Parks were closed at this time so maybe more folks went to the state parks. The campground was pretty dusty, no hook ups, and pay showers which seems to be the norm in Nevada. There were some beautiful formations across the street which were very interesting. Very quiet area. It was fine for one night. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

$17 gets you a few threaded faucets, flush toilets, showers, well-spaced sites, a few trees here and there, and a rather nice view. There is also a dump station on the way out on the access road. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful state park. Best view around. Clean and tidy. The bathrooms were clean, and the showers were free. Hard to find the entrance coming from the north. We found the southern entrance and drove back in, but it wasn't far and worth the trouble. Lots of tenting sites. Most sites plenty big for our 31' fifth wheel. Covered ramada over the picnic tables. Water and sewer dump close by. Good place to stop on the way to Las Vegas. We'd stay here again. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park. Easy access, friendly staff, cell and MiFi and pet friendly. Beautiful 4 mile hike through the gorge and nice places to visit nearby (in the toad, Pioche, Echo Canyon, Spring Valley). There's a nice accessible dump on the access road into the park. Generators OK. (Probably remember us as ours started up automatically at 4 AM!) We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects Nevada resident discount. Not all spaces were friendly for larger rigs. A clean, well kept, place to stay. Very quiet. Lots of hiking available in an area that is a geologic wonder. We camped at Cathedral Gorge State Park in a Travel Trailer.
