Beyond funky to be sure. Lots of permanent residents. I was exhausted or the wind was terrible while passing through, I would opt for a casino parking lot or rest stop instead, kinda nasty actually! We camped at Weed Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

A true experience in funk, camping among the abandoned open pit mines. But no complaints about the park: nice level sites, sparkling restrooms, easy in and out, apparently all pull-throughs. Good Wi-Fi signal--at $1/day, which will be explained to you by the genial host. We're staying an extra day, however: a High Wind Warning has us hunkered down to avoid wind gusts up to 70 mph out on Highway 95 ALT. Even in the park, our rig is rockin' and rollin'--though not in danger (we surmise) of capsizing. We'd stay here again--if we travel this way in the future; its a convenient stop between LV and Reno. Quiet park, no highway noise. Hook-ups are mid-site, with the sewer hook-up first, then electric, then water. Two deciduous trees between each site. Private shower rooms with toilet and sink. Showers have a very nice adjustable shower head. Laundry across from showers. $1.00 for washers. The same building has a club room. A clothesline and clothespins are available. Friendly and helpful manager. We camped at Weed Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

This RV park could be considered a hidden gem if your looking for open space, quiet, and some clean air in a high desert atmosphere. It sits right next to a large open pit mining operation which was closed back in the late 1970's. The surrounding area isn't much to look at... in fact you could even say it's darn ugly... but then this is an old mining district in Nevada and not Yellowstone! The RV park itself is kept in great shape, the sites are level and all gravel, and it was clean and tidy when we visited. The sites are spacious and you could navigate a semi-truck through this park! The on-site manager was very friendly and helpful. He gave us a recommendation and directions to a good Mexican restaurant in Yerington, NV a few miles away (El Alteno at 615 S Main St.). Be aware they only take cash or checks here... no credit cards or wooden nickels. We'll definitely come back some day. We camped at Weed Heights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Nice campground just outside Yerington up in Weed Heights. OHV use right out of the campground. Clean. All gravel, pull-through sites with trees. The sites are on the narrow side making it tight for our opposable slides, we had to pull in at an angle, but it worked great. Small 9-hole golf course and 18-hole miniature golf course right next door. We camped at Weed Heights RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo
