Warning: This Park has very narrow roadways, tight turns, is heavily treed and the paved RV spots are all sloped. Would not consider it suitable for rigs over 36'. Almost every tree has scars from RV's and campers; it's almost impossible to avoid hitting or scraping one if you are forced to drive completely thru the park as we were. The first spot we were assigned was flanked on the entry and exit with two large trees making for a very narrow entry or exit. Told management we could not swing our 42' rig in there due to the confined opening and sharp turn required. The were able to assign us another location, but due to the serious slope it took quit awhile to find a way to park our rig so we could level. Saw many other Class A and Class C with wheels off the ground and serious leveler shoring. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed 4 nights. Since we arrived a day earlier than planned we had a different campsite the first night than we did the other three nights. The sites were close together in the middle of the park but we then moved up on the hill. Very nice site, quiet and more space between sites. Nice campground with lots of trees. I fell for the beauty without thinking about the hassle. I even read the previous reviews before making a reservation. My bad! To be clear to everyone coming here: The RV park and parking for the check-in is across the street from the lake. Don't turn toward the lake entrance when you come as you will be in a tight narrow parking lot that could trap you. That said, after you park your rig near the check in building in the RV park, you may be informed to walk back across the street to check in at the resort check in counter, near the restaurant. This leaves a long line of cars and rigs nearly to the street. Check in is slow. Sites are assigned by people who do not drive RVs. I stupidly and conveniently did a check in on line and I should have phoned to get more information about the sites. We were placed in a back in site that barely fit our RV while nearby a "Juicy" car was in a long pull thru. Grrr. This is all on me and I have learned my lesson. Thank you to all who post here. It is a big help to all of us who are driving big rigs, if only I will read and listen! We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We camped here in a 45' motorhome. This campground probably only has 4 or 5 spots that will hold a vehicle this large. Having said that we've stayed here twice before. When making reservations be very specific about your size !! We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

I've been staying here each winter since 2000/01; there are usually 6-10 RVer's who stay the winter season, skiing and enjoying a slower-paced, quieter Lake Tahoe experience. Aramark manages this Nation Forest RV park. They used to have an on-site manager living in the RV park taking care of it; not any longer. The rate had always been $499 per month, this year saw a $150 per month off-season raise, so fewer RVer's this year. The wi-fi is poor to non-existent and staff just says there is nothing they can do because of the trees. Funny, last year it worked fine. There are only a couple of staff that have been here for 5 years or more; newer staff are younger with no RV experience, so of little help. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be prepared with pads or boards under your jacks; most every site is too sloped to achieve level. Moved three times and never found a near-level site. Nice hiking trails around the park; coyotes come running through each night so pay attention with pets. Folks park their tow on the dirt part of their site. Propane at park is $3.50/gallon - fill before you arrive. No longer 10% discount for lodge restaurant at lodge.

Check in was horrendous. Monday afternoon and RVS were backed up to the highway. When I got inside the office there were 7 people in front of me. There was only one clerk and he was doing a fine job with 4 days of experience. The first site that I was assigned had a vehicle parked in it. I went back to the office and luckily got another site. The park was recently taken over by Aramark and obviously needs some organization and training. Lots of highway noise as well. There are NO flat, straight areas to disconnect the toad. Signage to the RV resort said "turn left", when in fact the RV resort was on the right. I was told by a camp host that they've been trying to get the sign changed for years. We unfortunately got caught without a reservation on a weekend. The name caught our attention, and having had experience with the resort itself felt that the $82 nightly charge was high, but considering it was at the resort we made reservations for two nights. As we arrived, we discovered the RV spots were across the street in a rustic campground, not the resort.

Note the reservation was taken by the off-site central booking agency Amamark; on arrival we found they had double booked us. The desk clerk, made us call the reservation number again to confirm we had made a reservation. Finally the other clerk, drove around and found an empty slot, the last one in the campground.

Worst camping experience ever, never could get the unit leveled. Note picture of picnic table which had been previously leveled by a big rock - totally unsafe. When we checked with adjacent camper as to why we couldn't get the cable to work we were told the front desk should have given you a converter box. When I walked back all the way down the hill, the desk clerk told me she had forgotten to tell us about that and had we called we could have saved us a walk down and back up the hill. So we couldn't watch TV that night. Tried for a good hour to connect with WiFi, and when asked the same clerk about it she told us, well you are in the trees.

We were so fed up that we checked out a day early. When asked about a credit because we didn't get the cable and WiFi we had asked for when we booked, we were told those were "free" services they gave us. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice RV park. The office was very helpful when my 10 year old became sick. We always stay along the trail so there is no one behind you. The lake was low but very beautiful. They have a nice beach and lots to do. We have stayed here before and will return. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Confusion begins when you arrive and seem to be directed to the parking lot on the lake side of the road. Don't go there if you have a big rig! The campground is on the other side of the road and you need to park and go to the gift shop on the other side of the road to register.

The people were friendly but don't have a clue about RVing. They gave us a map and told us how to get to the site. Fortunately, the camp host caught us and helped. The route described could not have been navigated in a big rig. Tons of trees and sharp turns. There did not appear to be a level site that we could use. When settled in the best we could find, our front tires were about 4" off the ground. Obviously we could not hook up our roof top satellite dish. Great for 5th wheels or trailers or C class but not big rigs. We have a 40' RV with tow. Guessing at rate. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Problem: Most of the sites are nice, but the ones close to the road (Hwy 50) are appalling. When you reserve, you cannot reserve a specific site (unless you book a "premium" site which can only be booked for 2 weeks.) So, it is a real gamble whether you will get a decent site or something that is absolutely unbearable. We booked a 40-ft pull-through site a year in advance and still ended up in the slums. It was a nightmare. All comments about the front office staff not knowing what they are doing are unfortunately accurate, although I'm not sure it's entirely their fault. Problem: If you are close to the highway, be prepared to hear loud trucks using the road throughout the night. Problem: The bathrooms and showers are ghastly. Mgmt has said they will be building new ones. Problem: Overcrowding of sites. Some of the sites are way too cozy, or your picnic table is right next to the dumpster. Problem: Bears. The dumpsters and the campground in general is not bear-proof, and we have had a VERY large bear in our site on more than one night. This happened last summer when we were here, too. Mgmt says they will be taking care of the problem. Problem: Picnic tables. Some are nice, some are full of splinters. Mgmt says that all picnic tables will be replaced within a year. Problem: Noisy campers. We only were awakened one night by rowdy campers at 3:00 a.m. coming back from the casinos, but given the close proximity you hear every conversation. Problem: WiFi is unreliable. Good thing: Great location on Lake Tahoe with a neat beach right across the street. Be prepared for a lot of tattoos. Good thing: The fairly new General Manager seems to be responsive to concerns. Good thing: The lodge has a nice restaurant, there is a snack bar and bar on the beach. Good thing: It's Lake Tahoe. Overall: This has the potential to be a wonderful RV park, but it has been neglected. The bear problem is a real problem and the reservation system is in need of a makeover. Hopefully, the new GM will fix these problems and then this will be a jewel of a park. For now, I would look elsewhere on Lake Tahoe, particularly if you plan to stay for more than a few nights. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This place is a total ripoff. Very tight sites, with no room for even a picnic table (ours was in front of the next site's door). Wi-Fi does not connect. The staff had no idea what was going on. We made reservations 7 months ago and requested a pull-through with room for a tent. We got a Nose-in spot literally on a hillside barely wide enough for our 33' rig, no room for anything else, and the least level spot I have ever been in. When I asked the girl at the counter about it I got a blank stare. Then I asked a manager who was quite annoyed that I bothered him. I will never stay here again. The rates are ridiculous for what you get. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This park provides a picnic table and a fire ring at the site. The sites are cramped, we were able to extend our slides, but we're not able to extend our awning. The outside area allocated for the table and fire ring was so narrow that that the fire ring was almost on the street, and the table too close to the neighboring sewer. Some sites appeared to be larger with more room, but not many. It is across the street from the lake making access very convenient and there is a bus stop across the street as well. The beach was crowded, but it was during summer vacation. We will stay elsewhere next time we head up to Lake Tahoe. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park with a great location. The sites are FAR from level, which can be a bit of a problem. We strayed here during Street Vibrations Motorcycle Rally in Reno. Not good. It was an endless line of Motorcycles (NOISE) ALL day. If you want to be on the Lake, this is the spot !! We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here because we wanted to tour around the lake. The park was full, which speaks to its location and the fact there aren't many options. I would have rated it higher, but many of the sites were right on top of others and it seemed that everyone there had at least one dog. Needless to say, it was like being next door to a kennel. On the positive side, the staff were great and it is just across the street from the lake. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground across from the lake, with a real nice beach, and snack bar, and other services. Beautiful setting surrounded by pine trees. Nice wide and long sites with plenty of room for the rv, and tow vehicle. The sites were full hook ups, and well maintained. The bathrooms and showers were both clean and convenient. The location was good, with plenty of services close by. The staff was helpful and professional. I would stay here again. We camped at Zephyr Cove Resort RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.
