This campground is just minutes away from the incredible Hopewell Rocks in the Bay of Fundy. It has many seasonal spots and quite a few spots of visitors. The campground has two cute small "lakes", and also access (across wetlands) to the Bay of Fundy. There were quite a few tent campers. The campground is rustic, but has all of the amenities that you need. The staff are young, and not especially helpful. However, it all boils down to location, and this one has a good one. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Hopewell Rocks are incredible, scenic and breathtaking. Be sure to time your arrival with low tide so that you can walk on the ocean floor among the rocks. Be sure to plan a few hours, we stayed much longer than we thought we would, there is a lot to see. Dogs are allowed as well.

Gravel site and roads. View across marsh of Bay of Fundy. Hiking trails. Just a couple of kilometers to Hopewell Rocks. Wifi available but connection issues. Park was full so could not book an extra night. Staff, owners were very cordial. Swimming pool and playground for kids. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in a long pull thru that was level and super long. The front section is definitely more crowded, whereas the closer to the water is better. There are huge tent areas for people with tents that are also closer to the water. Plenty of places to walk to see the Bay of Fundy and walk the dog. My main issue was not the campground's fault but my own. This was an overnight stop to Nova Scotia and it was really far from the main road. Won't do that again. Rt 114 was not a great road coming in with a big RV. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

If your GPS doesn't have this campground, get better directions from the office. It is not a good place to stop overnight if you are going to or from Nova Scotia. It is at least 25 miles off the interstate each way.

Overall Rating:

Benefit of fall travel is the lack of others in the parks, this was certainly the case for our stay. It does, however, make it difficult to judge the size of sites and the proximity to neighbors if they were there. Our site was the very last one in section 300 looking out at the Bay of Fundy and the nearby pond. A back-in site, which you pull forward into, giving a panoramic view out the front window of our motorhome. It seemed generous and well separated from the neighboring site. The owners are extremely nice and we saw them daily. They are busy renovating the park to add new sites and their plans look great. The hookups worked great and were easily reached. No issues with WiFi, the signal was strong and reliable. The roadways are easily navigated. Sites are easily accessed and well marked. The owner pointed out a number of trails we could hike and each was worth the trip. The Bay of Fundy shoreline is nearby and provides an interesting hike twice to see the contrast between high and low tide. Hopewell Rocks are nearby and well worth the trip. Again, make two trips to enjoy the contrast between tides. We will stay here again. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Price is in Canadian. Pricey campground but good location. Most sites share pedestal, outer sites are back-in for trailers, pull-in for motorhomes for each to have hookups on the left side. Middle sites are double long so it might serve as a pull through without toad if rear site is unoccupied on entry or a pull-out for motorhomes if the front is unoccupied. Lady at office knows which works best for each rig type and assigns the sites accordingly. Otherwise it's a weird layout. Campground is situated between 2 ponds and wildlife may be seen at dusk and dawn. Geese also frequent the ponds. Some sites are shady, others in full Sun. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The closeness of the sites is an issue. We had to move our vehicle while someone else pull their RV into their site. We pulled into our site and the RV next to us had to back in. We both used the same utility post. WiFi was terrible. The bathhouse was very nice and clean. My rating for this campground is based on the closeness of the sites. Nice but dated campground next to Hopewell Rocks. Interior roads are narrow gravel but we had no trouble negotiating our 45 ft MH to our site. Sites are gravel and close together with grass between sites, with picnic table and fire ring. Larger sites are 50 amp FHU in the open and smaller sites are 30 amp in the woods. We had site 135 which was perfect for us - 50 amp FHU with very nice view of pond in front of site and distant view to Funny Bay with no tree so we could access satellite. Cost is in Canadian $. Wifi is very good - I was able to access Netflicts. Site was level and long enough for my MH but had to park my tow in the adjacent grass. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

The sites are quite close together and the doubles ones can be confusing. Our site was fairly nice with trees for aome privacy. The bathrooms are totally remodeled and the showers have heated floors! Laundry facilities available and decent Wifi. Our price was $32.40 CDN with Good Sam discount before taxes for a 20 amp site. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed on a site furthest away from the office, with a number of other motorhomes and larger 5th wheels, on a cul-de-sac overlooking a small pond. The sites closer to the office were smaller and were really packed in, so I was happy not to get one of those. We were one of the few American families at the park during the day we stayed at the park. It appeared many of the guests were from Toronto or Quebec. We found the campground mostly kept clean although some of the guests in the tent area left it a complete mess when they left. Bathrooms were immaculate, mostly. Again, some of the tenters in that area had left it a complete mess when they departed. I observed this as I walked my dog and later returned to use the bathroom. We had no issues with Power, Water or Staff. Everyone was actually very friendly. The park has in some ways better views of nature and the ocean than nearby Hopewell Rocks. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Take a walk on some of the nearby paths to the ocean. Lot's of great views. Be aware there are some frequent Moose and Bears, we saw evidence of both. Only about a mile from Hopewell Rocks, you can actually see the edge of it from Campground ocean view to the left.

Closeness to the Hopewell Rocks is this place's selling point. Our site had a nice view of the lake and marshland. We walked out to the dam after sunset but didn't spot any moose. The 10 mph speed limit is governed by prevalent potholes. Wifi was weak at our site far from the office. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The world famous Hopewell Rocks are about a kilometer away. They are in a provincial park with an $C8 admission for seniors. Hiking down to the rocks (a shuttle is also available) is governed by the timing of the very high Bay of Fundy tides so call in advance.

If you get the right site, this is a great place to stay. We had a beautiful backin wooded site and the sites along the waters edge were good too. But some of the sites are doubles - two campers on one long site and they are VERY tight. And some of the sites are along the road which is very dusty. The staff is great. You can walk down several paths to see the marsh and the waterfront which is quite nice. The park is very quiet. We camped at Ponderosa Pines Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in one of the larger sites designed with motorhomes in mind (utilities on the correct side to pull straight in). We had a nice view between the bushes of a small pond. Sites are close together and the park roads were dusty when we were there due to a lack of rain. The park has a small not heated pool that we did not use. We had a nice view of the bay from outside our RV and could see the tides coming in & out. There is a mix of tent camping, small RV's and large motorhomes in the campground. WiFi worked OK. Great location for visiting Hopewell Rocks & Fundy National Park. It's a 40 minute drive into Moncton for a grocery store of any size. Roads inside the park are gravel & rough. Location was the main reason for staying here since it's only a mile from Hopewell Rocks. Sites are EXTREMELY tight and close together.Hookups were OK. 50 amp was correct and sewer was OK. Water pressure was allover the place. One day we had to use our pump but the other two days it was 35-40 pounds. Very dusty roads and every vehicle kicked up a cloud. Unless you're off the main road plan eating inside. Didn't use the swimming pool. OTA TV was ok with two stations. Again - big
