OK, so I'm calling these guys and leaving messages all winter. About to spend a huge chunk to drive here from CA. Not good at answering. Finally, one of the staff got back to me a few times. These people are awesome!! Great couple run a clean and beautiful park. We loved it. The little town nearby is cute but up the road a few miles is all you need. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

After selling our house we stayed here for a few days while getting the motorhome tuned up and putting the finishing touches on our travel plans. This is a large campground - with many well maintained seasonal sites as well as many transient sites. Our site, #51, was on Ames Brook which is a fast moving brook that flows through parts of the campground. Being on the brook we enjoyed the soothing sound of running water as our "background music". We had water, sewer and electric and 30 amp. Most of the sites are wooded and shady - keeping everyone cool on a hot summer's day. Office staff is nice, helpful and profesional. The exchange library is full of books. The laundry area is spotless and the price for laundry is reasonable: $1.25 for a wash and $1.50 for drying. Much less than other places we have stayed. At the moment it's mostly adult campers - probably a bit early for family camping during the week. The pool looks very clean and will be much busier once school is out. Staying here you're near downtown Ashland which has cute shops and a great Common Man Restaurant (have eaten there several times). Lots of water fun (lakes) nearby if you have your kayaks. All in all a clean, pleasant and convenient campground in which to enjoy your summer or a few days. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Ashland = restaurants, local gift shopping. Downtown Meredith = many restaurants, ice cream , antiques, bookstores, hair salons, cafes, spa (massage therapy, nails, facials in Church Landing) all situated on Lake Winnipesaukee so enjoy beautiful walks and views- lots to do.

If you like to hike this is a great campground as there are many nearby trails. Clean and well kept with strong utilities. Better Wi-Fi than most campgrounds. Too many trees for SAT to work but acceptable cable. Passport rate used on non-weekend days. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here twice, once during the early summer for a week and again in the fall for 6 days. Both times we were in the same spot, #11, perfect for our motor home. We wanted few trees overhead and closer to the entrance. They have added many really nice large sites further towards the back of the park. The staff is friendly and helpful as were our neighbors, seasonal campers that we met on our first stay. They have fire pits and picnic tables, leashed dogs are welcome, there are events during the season for families, a playground and shopping is close by. If you come during Bike Week, you will pay premium rates, as you would in any campground during an event. We would stay here again and have no problem with recommending this campground. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Cash for Passport America. Our site was fairly level. Many permanents but the park is well kept. Utilities were good. We are finding that at some campgrounds the 30 amp service is not that good. Here it was fine. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

We went to a"charity" casino in Belmont. They have no slots, just table games and a $2 bet limit. Needless to say. ...we gave to charity!

Stopped here for an overnight while on the road. Had to pay a $16 upcharge because it was "bike week" even though it was the Sunday night. Needless to say I was perturbed by that since I had no interest in motorcycling. I was in a long pull-through site but could only use a portion that was level. Sewer hookup was such that I would have had to use an extension so I didn't dump till the next stop. Other connections were easy. Wi-Fi and cable were good. Nothing to make it avoidable, but I would try another park as $44 normal charge was excessive for this as an overnight stopover. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice location about seven miles from Lake Winnie. Gravel roads a little tight. Gravel sites, mostly level. Very forested in back area, front area more open. Utilities very good. No satellite in back area, maybe a chance in front area. Cable was good. Can't remember the WiFi. Water pressure good. There was park construction while we were there and lots of tractors and dust. Long walk to bathrooms from back area. Bathrooms were nice. Staff was very helpful. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

We visit Ames Brook once or twice a year for a 3-4 night stay. The owners meticulously maintain all aspects of the campground. We particularly enjoy our fall visits when the foliage is at peak, and in time to visit the Sandwich Fair nearby. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Easy day trip to Franconia Notch State Park, Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill, NH (a must!), hiking, leaf peaking. Also a perfect spot to relax by a stream and read.

3 rd time staying there. Nice small campground. Never used the bathrooms so can not say how they are. The sites are large with some trees between each site. Very quiet, with a friendly staff and within driving distance of white mountains (less than an hour) and outlet malls (30 mins). We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a great place. It is exactly what we were hoping for as fairly newer RVers. Great hook-ups, wide, level-sites. The brook running along two sides of the site was a beautiful feature. Well kept seasonals and quiet park. Great place, great stay (in spite of some rain) and we we will back! We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.

Our first review and first time at Ames Brook. This is a wonderful campground. Our site was right on the brook. Hearing the babbling brook at night was so relaxing. Restrooms so clean, owners so nice, workcampers so nice and helpful! A pleasure to stay here and will definitely go again! We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is an excellent RV park/campground. The sites are wide and well situated in the trees and some by a brook. All facilities are excellent: the laundry room and bathrooms are impeccable. There are many current magazine to read while you wait in the well appointed and comfortable lounge adjacent to the office and laundry. The pool is lovely. We give this park a 10 without any reservations. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice campground for an excellent Passport America price (for 30 amp service). Full hookups, including cable and free Wi-Fi, were good. Restrooms were very clean. Park staff very friendly and helpful. Grounds were well tended. Small store in the campground had lots of choices. If the roads and sites were paved, it would deserve a 10 rating. We would stay here again. This was our 3rd stay at Ames Brook Campground. Great "smaller" campground - smaller in # of sites, not size of them. There are about 80 sites in the campground, some in full sun and others in shade. Except for 3 sites, all sites are full hook up (the 3 are W/E for tents or pop-ups). Some sites offer 30 amps and other have 50. Facilities are spotless and camp staff always seemed attending to general maintenance. While we were there they were clearing tree limbs and brush to make sure roadways and driver visability were unimpeded. Bathrooms and showers were clean, laundry room offers 4 washers and 4 dryers. Store/office has just about anything you'd need if you forgot something, from food, to RV supplies to campfire needs and even toys for the kiddies or gifts and souvenirs. Everyone here was friendly, from owners to workers to campers. We really like the quiet of the campground. Daily rates are $37-$43 depending on the site. They accept Good Sam or Passport discount. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Secluded privacy with large sites. Some are very long back-ins. Plenty of room for slides. Most have woods between sites. Gravel roads were good. Extra fee for 50 amp. ATT cell signal non-existant. Verizon signal worked. Up fee for 50 amp=$2/night. Fee is with Good Sam discount. Free Cable TV which is decent and Free Wi-Fi. Pool and playground. Laundry 24/7 with decent rates. I liked the posting of the time the machines take so I could leave and return. Veterinary information posted in laundry for emergency. Not too busy when we were here so lots of peace and quiet. We would definitely camp here again. We camped at Ames Brook Campground in a Motorhome.
