Site 1D -50 sites with w & e and 32 remote sites around Umbabog Lake. Cambridge but listed at Errol, NH. This campground is in the northeast section of NH, seven miles east of the town of Errol. he trees were at peak the day we drove up so the views were outstanding. The State Park is located on route 26 east on the south end of Umbagog Lake and sites can be reserved from Memorial Day through Columbus Day. As with most NH State Parks if you have a view you pay more for the site. This campground used to be a private one until the State took over, so this is one of the newest NH State Parks to the park system. There are 50 sites with W and E and RV's can fit in most of them and some cabins to rent as well. Also, there are 34 remote campsites out on Umbagog Lake accessible only by boat. Boats, kayaks, canoes can be rented here or if camping in a remote site they will take you to the site for a fee. It is a small State Park with private homes surrounding it but it is very nice. Some sites are close together and other sites are a good size with a fire pit, picnic table and w & e hookups. There are showers for a fee 25 cents and a bathhouse all were very clean. The rangers were very nice at check in and there is a store there for purchasing ice, wood and other essentials. They will bring your wood to your site using a golf cart if you want. There is a beach area for swimming, fishing, boat dock, dump station, playground, recycling station and ranger programs in season. Wildlife viewing - deer, birds and moose. Reservations not needed when we were there midweek. Beautiful area with great views looking over the lake and the mountains in the distance. Nice. We camped at Umbagog Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground stays open longer than Columbus Day Weekend especially for hunters. Half the CG will be shut down. Check NH reservation policy because they have different dates depending on the number of nights you want to reserve.

The park is in a very rural location, and the open area sites have a spectacular view of the lake.As an older park,it isn't very big rig friendly, but our site was fine for a 27 ft trailer. There is a nice camp store, and a beach area, along with a small marina offering canoe and kayak rentals. The park staff is friendly and helpful. The access road to the site was rough, but it appears that repairs are in progress. We camped at Umbagog Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you visit, make sure to get out on the lake by boat, canoe or kayak. This is the most beautiful, quiet lake in New England. The park has remote campsites available,so consider canoeing to a remote site to camp for a night. The park also has tours ("Secrets of Umbagog") by boat.
Worth a trip into Errol to visit LL Cote sports store. It's a little of everything, from hunting boots to groceries.

Beautiful park. Stayed 3 nights. Big sites with water and electric. really nice fire pits with grates for cooking. We stayed in site 33 and it was perfect. There are only 2 toilets in the mans washroom for the entire CG so I set up our shelter and porta potty. Showers are pay but you get a lot of time with a quarter and they are very large. One was out of order when we were there but it didn't cause any delay. Beach area is perfect and the lake is stunning. Activities for the kids. We were able to partake in an interactive boat trip that was an hour long for free around the lake. The only complaint I had was noise on our last night. Moron family moved in next door with a popup and appeared to be newbie campers. I could tell they were going to be noisy and they were. Up until 2:30Am rattling bottles and slamming the trailer door. Didn't appear to be anyone around to tell them to go to sleep. Nearest store and gas is in Errol about 10 miles so it does feel remote. No cell service. Great hiking in the area. Will be a yearly destination for sure. We camped at Umbagog Lake State Park in a Tent Trailer.

We have stayed at Umbagog Lake State Park many times over the last 12 years. It is a very nice campground. On site amenities are limited, but the natural beauty and wonderful beach more than make up for it. Bathrooms & showers were kept reasonably clean (we had lots of rain during our stay). The surrounding area is very rural, not much to do close by. We enjoyed taking trips out on the lake (highly suggest bringing a boat, or renting a canoe) and packing the truck up for an afternoon of "moose crawling" down the dirt roads. This time we stayed at the main campground. In years past I have stayed at one of the remote sites, a very special experience. I highly suggest it!! Bring your own boat if you do... We camped at Umbagog Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park is small and seems to set up primarily for use by boaters. There are stunning views of the lake from some of the campsites. The swimming was good. The bathrooms, the shower in particular, are very dirty and needs maintenance and renovation. The road into the campground needs work - serious potholes. We camped at Umbagog Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Excellent view of the lake from many sites that are not directly on the lake. We camped at Umbagog Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
