We returned to Fransted but left the trailer at home. We love the look of the sites along the river so much that we wanted to tent camp to use the sites. It was my wife's first time in a tent and the weekend was a success. The sites are plenty big enough for your tent, parking and anything else you need. The fire pit was a nice distance from the tent and truck. This campground is beautiful and it is so quiet that we just heard the river day and night, a great sound to fall asleep to. We camped with our sons and our daughter was able to visit during the day. We generally do not use the bathrooms but we found the bathhouse and showers to be very clean and bug free which was nice. As I have said in the past, the owners are great and run a nice, clean quiet campground which is just what we are always looking for. We find Fransted to be very relaxing and know we have nothing to worry about when we are there. We so look forward to our return next year. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Tent.

This campground is a true gem nestled in the shadow of New Hampshire's White Mountains. The campsites are clean and incredibly well-maintained, many of them suitable for either RVs or tents (with a nice layer of wood mulch). Our first site was next to the small river that runs through the campground and was surrounded by nice trees and shrubs. Those sites are limited to water and electric hookups only. Ours was very level. When we caught a flu bug after two days, we moved to a full hookup site that, again, was level and surrounded by shrubs. The bathrooms and showers were impeccably clean. The owners of the campground were both friendly and very accommodating. We would stay here again. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Park was nice and clean, well maintained, level and pretty. Unique factor for children was a creed thru the property that is clean and has nice flow. The owner's have lined the creek with rocks so the children can float the 1-2' deep creek. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is one of the best family oriented campgrounds I have visited, for the following reasons. The hookups all work and are placed well. The site is leveled and gravel is raked between uses. Showers and restrooms are clean and you can see staff making multiple daily rounds to check them. Rules are reasonable and make for a pleasant experience. On the Saturday we were there, they had wagon rides, games, and ice cream socials. Tent sites had a good layer of mulch and were very private and nicely placed. The only thing I could say needed attention is that the roads could use a fresh layer of gravel...they are muddy and pool water after rain. Other than that, this family campground was as good as it gets. We did have good Verizon signal, wifi supplied by the campground worked well but intermittently. We were able to get Directv but they also had cable hookup available at the site if we had needed it. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a hiking trail that goes out of the tent area along the river and turns into many public trails outside of the campground property. This campground is also a few miles from Franconia State Park, which you could spend days in. Plan at least a few days to enjoy both the campground and the State Park.

Agree with all prior write-ups. Our stay was over a week so we had an opportunity to watch as the sites were raked and groomed to get ready for the next guest. All common grounds well landscaped and clean. Lots of activities for families. Strong utilities and wi-fi. SAT unusable due to trees but excellent cable w/ digital channels. Friendly hosts happy to help with hiking advice, which is great because there is a lot of wonderful hiking nearby, some of it right out the door following the river that passes thru the campground. Easy access from I-93 and a security gate to clear just past the office. Well stocked mini store on site with reasonable prices. Limited number of 50A sites so check ahead. This campground oozes ownership pride and attention to details. We will be back. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Minutes to Franconia Notch to the south and Littleton to the north, which is a surprisingly nice town with great restaurants.

We stayed 2 nights in site #T8, a pull thru with W/E/S/C. They are indeed very stringent with the rules. This is a very neat and pretty campground with large grassy areas for the kids to play. The hook ups for our site were arranged a little oddly, but doable with extensions for the sewer and water hoses. There is a nice mountain stream perfect for relaxing in or for the kids to do some gentle tubing in. Their wi-fi was fine and we had full LTE cell service with AT&T. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is the most beautiful park we have EVER stayed in!! Although the restrooms are old, they are cleaned daily. There is a lovely brook running through the park which is quite peaceful. Activities abound if you choose to participate. And we can not say enough about the owners, very personable. If we could rate it an 11, we would. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Another awesome stay at Fransted. Gregg and Karen are wonderful hosts and run a nice, clean campground. For the holiday weekend, they keep things very orderly and quiet which we really appreciate. You hear so many horror stories about camping on holiday but no issues here. In the early evening we were able to sit back, enjoy our fire and listen to nature and some kids playing in the distance. As the evening went out, we did not hear a sound from any other campers. They had planned activities throughout the weekend but we only attending the food activities, the ice cream social and the cake event. Both were very good and well attended. This was our first trip in the spring and the campground looked great. The tent sites were all cleaned and ready for the season with new mulch pads, the bathrooms were very clean and the overall look was great. One of my favorite things to do when we are walking is to stand on the bridge and just watch the water flow by, it is so peaceful and relaxing. This year we stood on a new bridge which looked great and must have been a big undertaking in the off season. If you love nature and a peaceful camping experience, this is the place for you. My wife likes this campground so much she is thinking of trying a tenting weekend and I think that will be a first for her. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is always the easiest review to write. We love this campground and the owners are great, so easy to talk to. This campground has simple rules and if you follow them you will have a great experience. This campground is beautiful and is a very special place for us. Walking the campground is nice, standing on the bridge watching the water flow is so peaceful. The sites are great, we had a very private full hookup site. The tent sites are great and some are right on the water. We missed going here last year but not again, we will camping there next year for sure. In addition to being a great campground, the area it is located is wonderful with so much to do. The foliage this weekend was great. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Absolutely gorgeous campground! Sites are well spaced and you can get wooded or open campsites. The tent area was nicer than most state parks. The shower rooms are individual and private. The wifi was inconsistent and the cable wasn't really clear on all channels but to me those are minor compared to how pretty the park is. They clean each site before the next camper arrives. I would definitely come here again. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overpriced , but this seems to be the custom in the east. Campground was very nice and would stay there again. This looks like a family campground that has a running creek that kids can get an inner tube and safely float the creek. Its for young children and water is about 2' deep. I cannot say enough good things about this fantastic place. A gorgeous family-run campground with tons of activities for children and families. Friendly, helpful staff. Depending on your preference, you could have a wooded, private site or park in a well-maintained grassy field closer to other campers. The bathrooms were immaculate. The putt-putt course was well maintained and new looking. They offered a safe, modern playground, a basketball court, horseshoes, ladder ball, etc. My children were so excited by the shallow float path set up on the stream that flows through the campground. We also enjoyed exploring the lovely hiking trail off the back of the campground. We also appreciated the fun, organized activities such as "Halloween in July" and "Candybar Bingo." I could see us coming back here again and again. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is the kind of RV park that you wish they all were like. Large, relatively private sites, some wooded, some open surrounded by a forest. On a lightly traveled road only minutes from all the White Mountains attractions and from I-93. Yes, there are a lot of rules, but they are "gently" enforced by the very nice couple who own the place. I don't mind rules when they make for a well-run park and aren't excessive. They don't have many sites that can take rigs as big as our 40' MH so call in advance if that's what you have. We liked it so much that we've reserved a week in September. Discounts are given for stays of a week or more. The park is spotless and everything is well trimmed. Roads and sites are gravel; our site was an enormously long pull-through that was in the open enough that we could get satellite TV. I know there was another large site that is wooded because I was given a choice of either. The Wifi was slow which was the only complaint I can think of, but the Verizon 4G signal was excellent. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Motorhome.

This was our first family camping trip with our 5yr old. When we first arrived we met one of the owners I assume who was extremely nice. She gave us alot of information about places to bring our son to, directions, recommendations, etc. The site was nice and private. We had a river site so we could hear it well, but still had to walk through the beach area in order to go in the water... not a big deal though. Restrooms/showers were close by and very clean. We camped at Fransted Family Campground in a Tent Trailer.
