I made the reservation on the website and chose a pull-through close to the lake. When we arrived, the staff had everything ready to go, just pull in and set up. All utilities were good, including WiFi, and our satellite dish worked as well; maybe not all sites would. The park is right on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee and would be an excellent base for checking out this huge resort area. We camped at Ellacoya State Beach & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This State Park is located on the southern shore of Lake Winnipesaukee in central NH. It is the largest lake (one person told me it is 26 miles) in the state and it is beautiful. There are 38 sites for RVs on gravel and grass in four lines with full hookups. A bathhouse is located near the water with four showers for a $1. A short walk along the shore in the campground brings you to a picnic area, beach and great views for the campers. The 600ft sandy beach looks out over the lake to the Sandwich and Ossipee Mountains. One can see sailboats, boats and a big ferry sailing along the water. We stayed one night and would stay again but it is expensive. There is a brook that runs through the park and separates the camping area with the public beach. There were only about ten campers here the night we stayed but with the holiday this weekend and the leaf peepers coming this area will be congested again. Nice ride to Weirs Beach, Laconia, Meredith and up to North Conway or up 93 to Franconia Notch State Park. Check in was easy! We camped at Ellacoya State Beach & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This lake is windy so you might want to choose a site like we did away from the water. Beautiful area and we would come back even though it is expensive.

You can't beat the views of Lake Winnipasauke from your site at this campground! I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the sites at this state park. Our site was long enough to fit our 40 foot motorhome as well as our tow car with room to spare! Sites are plenty wide enough to accommodate double, triple, quad slideouts. No planned or organized activities here, but direct lake access for fishing, swimming, or boating. Grassy areas for frisbee or other lawn games. Great location for exploring the lakes region. This was our first time at the park and can't wait to go back next year! We camped at Ellacoya State Beach & RV Park in a Motorhome.

I loved staying here, my only complaint is that it doesn't have individual campfire rings. It does however have a group campfire it someone wants to get it started. Clean, quiet; can't wait to go back. We camped at Ellacoya State Beach & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

They must have done alot of renovations to this place because it does not match the previous posters description. This state park has full hookups at every site. While you are camping in a field, there are trees for shade. It is very basic and simple. All sites are in a straight line and in 4 rows. Camp is on right on Lake Winnipesaukee. Beautiful view from the beach area and clean, warm water. Awesome place to spend a day or a week. We camped at Ellacoya State Beach & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We reserved a site here but went in advance to check it out and decided to go elsewhere. This is just a field near the lake beach. There are only a couple of trees and it was one small step up from camping in a parking lot. I suppose if proximity to the lake is worth it you might not mind it. I couldn't see spending 3 nights with my family here. You probably have to see it to get the full effect. Yuck.

(We did not camp here) We camped at Ellacoya State Beach & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
