For us one benefit of this campground is it is close to home and easy to get to. Another benefit is the staff and owners are very nice. We had a site that we have had in the past, D10. We like the site but one suggestion would be to move the fire pits 10-20 feet closer to the road. Current locations put the fire very close to your camper and your neighbors camper. We had our grandson and we used the playground for the first time, he loved it. I am sure we would camp here more often if they had a pool but there are plenty of other places that have pools. We had our own Verizon hotspot for WiFi which worked fine and just a side note, there is no cable here. We do love the campground but we enjoy the extras that some other place offer as well. Final thought, be sure to follow the direction to your site that the office shows you, going your own route can lead to some very tight corners that you might have to back out of. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here 2 nights. It is a large park nestled in the back of a residential neighborhood. We had enough cell service to do a hotspot for Wifi. Our back-in site was sufficient and all hookups worked well. It is close to beaches and also convenient to visit Maine as well. A large amount of seasonal residents but neatly kept. We would stay here again. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

The location somewhat close to the coast probably sets the prices. This is a very large campground and of all the ones we've been to, an escort to the assigned site should have been provided. There were many roads that wove around one another with many intersections. Many sites are very well maintained seasonal sites, our backin was very level. Expect pine sap to drip on everything. There is a manned entrance station after office closing that does check for the vehicle pass. WiFi worked well but OTA TV channels were limited and most sites probably couldn't get satellite. There was a large staff that were constantly cleaning trimming. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The campground is very woodsy, however plently of room to navigate the interior roads. Road signs to the campground are non-existent since they are located in residental area. GPS did take us right to the campground. Staff was friendly and helpful. Check-out time is 3:00 and the camper at our site did not leave until 3:15 so we had to pull into another site and wait for them to leave. Site was a back in and was very large to accommodate our motorhome and tow vehicle. Will stay again. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We paid the Passport America rate of $25 for a 50 amp FHU level back in site. Site was a gravel site heavily shaded with large pine and hardwood trees. So we had lots of stuff dropping onto the RV during our 6 night stay. Overall this is a very nice campground in the woods. But they do call this "Camping in the Pines". As it was late spring, we had lots of sap on both our 1 year old MH and toad. They do have some sites that are not under pines. If we return, we will definitively ask for one. They have a wifi hotspot, but very limited hours during our stay so we never used it. OTA TV was barely fair with only ION and PBS stations. Verizon cell and broadband both very good. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The 401 Tavern on US-1 in Hampton has daily HH 2-5 weekdays and the bar food specials were very good. We went back a couple of times. Just north of 27 also on US-1 is a combination Sports Bar, Pizza place (The Oven) and Brewery. The HH there was 7 days a week from 2-5. But ask your server first, most are new did not know about it. Their beers are $3 each during HH.

Great, huge, campground very well maintained. Mostly full-time set ups, but friendly for the travelers. Lots of good campsites for travelers. We had a pull-through, nice a level, full hook-ups. Will definitely stay again next time passing through. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed at this large campground in a 36' coach. Mostly permanents. Seven or eight pull thrus. Over priced for what you get! My site (X-15) was a back-in. High in the back, causing need for boards under front tires. Also needed extra steps for entry door. With slope, the rain drained to the front and causing mud and pine needles at door. Nothing that a 5 yard load of gravel could not fix!!! Would NOT stay again! We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park. We had a very long, paved, pull-through site that was nice and level. Park is well located to do things in Boston or up in Maine. Cell service for Verizon was good and Sprint was decent, but not great. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice park, mostly seasonals. Long trip to our site up the long and winding road, but the site was very spacious and everything worked. I agree with another reviewer in that the price is above average considering there is no cable nor wifi at the sites. Since we were at the top of the campground our Dish satellite did work, as did our Verizon hot spot. Staff was friendly and the campground was very well kept. This is a large campground with lots of seasonal sites, located between Exeter and Hampton Falls, ME. The campground is generally clean with nice restroom, laundry and shower facilities. There is a Trading Post with snacks, supplies and a WiFi hotspot, WiFi not available elsewhere. Most of the campground has lots of trees, including nice tall pines, so don't count on using your satellite here. Service was generally friendly and helpful. The driveways are asphalt (in good condition) and our site pad was gravel and included a picnic table. We spent 4 nights here in a back-in, full hook-up site with 50 amp electric for $45 per night. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very large campground and is geared toward seasonal, family camping, with a lot of organized activities for children. We stayed two times, once coming and once going, the first time in D Loop where the sites were gravel, long and level, adequate size, limited shade, full hookups. Interior roads are paved. The second time was an overnighter, staying in X Loop in a large, level, shaded campsite, full hookups, that was much more appealing. During our first stay, we enjoyed live entertainment on Saturday night in the Pavilion. The Passport America rate makes this a real bargain, although it is not offered in high season. We would give this a higher rating if it had more amenities and more consistency in the sites. The area is upscale country, good shopping and services available in town, nice location for a day trip to Portsmouth or Hampton Beach. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

We like camping here. People are very nice and friendly. There was a small issue Friday night with some noise. Someone turned in our site as the noise makers but it was not us. The campground handled the situation very professional and all was good. This is a nice park to relax and walk around. As with many campgrounds, the sites come with pier pits and tables and there was no smoke issue when we were there. Price is fair for what you get compared to other area campgrounds. We will be back for sure. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Friendly check-in staff. Stayed in pull-through site that was easy entry and exit with 44' rig plus toad. Site was nice and clean. The site had no cable or WiFi so I feel the site is overpriced. No discounts for pull-through sites. All sites have fire pits with many in use resulting in the campground covered in smoke. Must get on hand and knees because park requires use of provided wood blocks under jacks. I will stay here again if I can not find another campground. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Motorhome.

The staff was friendly and helpful. It is a family owned park, oriented towards families with children. Sites were very close, too close for us. Each site has it's own concrete fire box which created a smoke problem. Many/most sites have permanently set up camping trailers. Though most were well kept, a few tarps were covering some.

I would use this park only for a one night stay when I was traveling to another destination, but most likely will not be back. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Huge park (400+ sites), everything beautifully kept. Mostly permanents and seasonals with a few sites for short-terms. Price reflects discount for week. Some sites look tricky to back into because of trees. We had about 2 inches clearance to get around a corner on the way to our site. We were at the far end in #D-B which had more privacy than most and was easy to get into with our 38' fifth wheel. Decent antenna TV reception. Satellite reception would be iffy because of trees. Campground very convenient to a lot of places. Very nice staff. Would have rated higher except for major drawback of having no wifi at sites. Very quiet except for outside music event in Pavilion across from us on Saturday evening. The bass was horrible inside our RV. Watch out for dangerous bicycles and skateboards zipping around the roads with riders who do not warn they're about to pass. Would stay again if we could get the same space or one of the 5 pull-thrus so we could be sure of getting in easily. We camped at Wakeda Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
