Stopped overnight. Sort of off the beaten path but this park seems mostly catering to seasonal campers. This was our last night on a week long swing thru VT, NH ME and this campground was the most expensive and the least attractive we encountered. Our site was a pull thru that was pretty crowned end to end so it was difficult to level unless we unhooked, the site was like sand and deep from the dry conditions. Had it been rainy it would have been a mud hole. Roads are easy to navigate and people standoffish. For an overnight stay, OK. For a longer period, not so much. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Travel Trailer.

Electricity was good, water pressure was good and wifi was good. The park has many amenities some are good and some are in bad or non-maintained shape. The general condition of the park in terrible, no gravel on roads or sites. Many long term sites and some are maintained and some are a complete mess. We were assigned a back-in first that was real tight and then moved to a pull thru. After moving, a heavy rain storm came in and the first site had 3 inches of water on it. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Motorhome.

It didn't start well - we arrived at 4:00PM and our assigned site was still occupied. After we set up in a new site we asked about cable tv. It's satellite tv and it's a $50 cash deposit for the box, but the lady in the office waived it since I rarely carry cash anymore. The site was OK, not a pull-through since there was a big electrical box at the back end. Laundry was one washer and one dryer in an outside shed, we went to the town of Hinsdale instead. There is also a pool that we didn't use. This is mostly a seasonals campground with a few unshaded transient sites, and the seasonals act like they own it. During the week it was OK, but on Friday the weekend seasonals arrived with their ATV's and partying well after midnight. We actually turned our AC fan on just for some drowning background noise. Saturday was a repeat of Friday, maybe not as noisy but it ran just as late. We left at 9:00AM Sunday, but when I tried to drop off the satellite box there was no one in the office. A call to the "24 hour" number went to voicemail, so I just left the box inside the screen door. As a side, as we were packing up one of the full-time seasonals actually apologized for the noise and stated he was getting a bit tired of the weekenders also. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Travel Trailer.

Passport America applies to some days. The wifi is free and excellent speed. There are plenty trees but several sites have satellite access. No railroad or interstate noise. Our pull through site wasn't level but it did have a hump so if you move back and forth you'll find a level spot. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Motorhome.

Approaching the campground there are many signs related to how we would need to behave to treat the locals well. Odd. No one in the office. We found our reserved site with no signs to help, then had to move to another site when mgr told us that wasn't ours now. Odd again but we settled. Lots are flat and wide. Pool is big and clean, playground old but maintained. Bathrooms, showers kept very clean. But boys from the community harass campers, run screaming through campground and purposely lock shower doors and then pound on occupied showers. They pounded so hard on my husband's door while he was showering that the door opened. These unruly children are a known issue, we learned when we reported this. We suffered from their actions yet we were supposed to be quiet for the sake of the locals. We will not return to be harassed again and cannot recommend this place as a result of these children which is really too bad. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Travel Trailer.

Don't take little children into Brattleboro for lunch. No kids menus or kids food. Very yuppie, artsy historic town center. Better to go to outskirts of town for family friendly places.

The posts about a steep climb into the park are correct. But that climb is no more steep than several of the roads taken to get here. The campground is clean, the sites level, and the campground is quiet. The staff is very friendly and quite helpful. Our only complaint was that we could not use our roof mounted satellite dish nor our mobile dish because of the surrounding trees. We spent the 4th of July week here and loved all of the celebratory activities the staff had planned. We will definitely stay here again on our way back to Florida We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Fifth Wheel.

The way in was interesting, with 11' clearance on the bridge sides, but 13'9" in the center. Nice site of gravel and woods. Pool and facilities nice but around the 4th of July all the children and ATV people dirtied them. One washer, one dryer. Had to go to a laundromat for our laundry. No Internet at our site. Internet access meant going to Recreation Hall, which was sporadic, doable. TV was by satellite with their box for a $50 refundable check. Worked well. Family park, not bad. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Motorhome.

Former comments about access up a very steep hill & then thru a mobile home park are correct, but the campground is well marked smith signs. Our site was level & staff helpful. Only con was getting up that big hill off the main highway. We would stay here again. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Strange entrance to this park, you have to go up a very steep hill then drive through a moblehome park, then you reach the RV park. Not a over friendly place, while we were there it was quiet, but there are lots of ATV's on campsites. The weekend is said to be noisy. Only one washer and dryer, in a small shed, no place to sit, but I dragged a chair from the pool. The sites were level for the most part. Lots of bugs when we were there. Won't be going back, not our favor spot. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Motorhome.

A lot of permanent and seasonal places. Sites are a little tight but very level. Very helpful at check in and they were changing owners. We went through Camp Club USA and they very congenial about the discount. I wished we could have come during the pool being open, looks like a very well run and nice park. There is no one there. The bottom line is their staff is one old guy who sits in a hut. Nice spot but a very quite campground. We had reserved for two days and left after the first night because there was no one there. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean. Sites level. Not enough staff on duty for campground of this size. Not always someone at the office. Comcast Cable very basic. Seasonal campers hit with huge real estate tax from Town of Hinsdale, several hundreds of dollars each family. Many seasonal campers leaving end of this year due to excessive tax. Owners do not live on campground. Manager lives out of state. Activities for children sporadic. Same DJ year after year for all major holiday weekends, plays same music. Kids like him, most adults stay away. Recreation Hall too fancy for a campground so locked most of the time cutting access for adults to use pool table or play ping pong. Limited time children can use the arcade. Pool clean. Age changed to over 12 during the week so the manager's child can use the pool with friends, otherwise children have to be over 16 or with an adult. Not acceptable for teens that are 14 or 15 and should be able to use the pool without adult supervision. ATV owners can use the facility after being registered either in VT or NH if camping here. With better management could be a very nice place. We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Lets start from the beginning first I contacted the campground on 6/22/07 inquiring if any sites were available? Lucky us there was a site, so we placed the deposit on our credit card. Let me reiterate credit card again. Upon arrival we were informed that the manager over rode our reservation, and gave the site away. During the forty five minute mayhem in the office the manager conveyed to the clerk over the phone that they do not guarantee sites. Did I mention that we used a credit card to reserve the site. Well, as luck has it and a test of patience they found a site for us, forty-five minute check in. The truth is after two nights we determined that there is nothing to do, unless you just want to swim. Excellent pool, but no one under 18 without an adult. Your 16 year old is out of luck. No one allowed in the game room under 12 without a parent. Your 16 year old cannot take your 8 year old in there. The two adult staff people not the manager mind you were very nice, and helpful. The manager is too young for the responsibility of running that campground, and the owners were no where to be found. This campground is boring! We camped at Hinsdale Village in a Motorhome.
